Your Standard Of Living and Civil Liberties are Being Systematically Destroyed
The head of the largest oil/shale production company in the U.S. admitted in an
interview with Aaron Sorkin on CNBC that producers in the U.S. were intentionally withholding production as retaliation against the Biden 🤡 Administration
for reversing the Trump Order allowing them to explore/drill for new wells on publicly owned land. Our gas prices would drop by over 2/3 and worldwide inflation would drop
as well if production was brought back online.

The U.S. is the largest oil producer in the world and we have all this production sitting there idle. Production in the U.S. was massively cut during the pandemic and our own production companies are refusing to bring the pre-pandemic production back online unless Biden reverses his order and allows them free access to public lands.
What’s worse is that American producers are enriching Russia while it’s invading Ukraine. Oil and gas is responsible for over 40% of Russia’s national income and every penny higher in price provides more money for Russia and OPEC.
It’s some of the most unpatriotic behavior I’ve ever seen but somehow everyone seems to be okay with it. No industry should have enough power to hold the world economy hostage for their own political gain.
And no government should have absolute power over restricting exploration and drilling with no feedback from anyone else until we get more alternative sources ramped up be it safe nuclear, solar, wind or hydro. This comes from someone that drives a plug in electric so you can bet I’m plugging in my vehicle every night right now! It’s part of the government’s job to protect lands owned by the taxpayers.
Would you allow an oil company to come bill in your backyard, take all the profits from that drilling and leave you with the mess? The U.S. already has plenty of production capacity sitting idle and there is no reason to drill on public lands. If they are going to explore for oil on publicly owned lands, they should pay for leases as they used to and they should be held accountable for damage and cleanup instead of taxpayers cleaning up behind.

Less than six months out from the midterms, Democrats are facing a brutal election environment thanks in part to inflation, general malaise, and the usual desire by fickle Americans to punish the party they put in power two years prior.  New polling numbers emphasize the challenge the party is facing. An NBC survey released on Monday found the Democratic Party with a favorability rating of -19.
That was lower than any other person or entity surveyed, including the Republican Party (-11), Vice-President Kamala Harris (-17), and Donald Trump (-16). (Rats and roaches were not included in the poll, so it’s impossible to say if they’re more popular than Democrats.) The party could only dream of matching Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who drew the approval of 62 percent of respondents and the disapproval of only 9 percent.
The numbers match downbeat assessments elsewhere. Democratic favorability has dropped precipitously since last fall, a HuffPost Pollster average shows, and is now averaging about -11.6 percent. Democrats trail on most polls of the generic congressional ballot — though, on average, by only 2.5 points, per FiveThirtyEight’s polling aggregator. The party got more bad news on Monday, with redrawn New York congressional maps erasing much of its advantage there.
The most important number to watch in any midterm is presidential approval, and there’s no comfort for Dems in that department, either. FiveThirtyEight has President Biden’s numbers stuck in the low 40s — very similar to where Trump was at this point in his tenure, months before Democrats gained 41 seats and took back the House.

Economist Warns: “New ‘Normal’ will be Stranger, More Extreme”
Something strange is happening behind the scenes in our financial system.
Right now, the mainstream media is completely ignoring what might be the
most important story in the financial world that nobody is talking about.

The Pendulum is Going to Tip – Bing video
Amid the distractions caused by conflicts overseas, shortages, and inflation, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen recently took the stage at an event called COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland to address some of the world’s most powerful people, including:
U.S. President…
British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson…
Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau…
French President, Emmanuel Macron…
… and many more…

From the stage, Yellen called for world leaders to commit to a $150 trillion ‘global transition’ of our economy.
Since then, Bank of America has committed, along with 131 countries, 234 cities, and 695 of the world’s biggest companies. Several billionaires, led by Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk, have invested in this ‘transformation’ as well.

And what does it mean for your money?
While the mainstream media is completely ignoring what might be the most important story in the financial world that nobody is talking about… Investigative journalist and renowned economist, Nomi Prins.
Who predicted the 2008 market meltdown has followed the money… And what she’s discovered is startling. It has nothing to do with a market crash… a new reserve currency… or the end of fiat.

Prins says: While most Americans are distracted by mainstream media headlines,
I’ve found evidence the elites are spending $150 trillion to ‘transform’ our economy
into something we didn’t vote on… didn’t ask for… and very few are prepared for.
In essence, we’re about to see a stranger, more extreme ‘new normal’ in America.
Most people will be shocked when they see what happens in the months ahead”
Prins considers this transformation so urgent; she has agreed to sit down for an
interview to get her message in front of as many Americans as possible.

For now, there’s no cost to watch. Rogue Economics

EVs require more energy to build, but they are far more efficient to operate.
ROBERTO BALDWIN – 4/28/2022

New EV vs. old beater: Which is better for the environment?
Earth Day was April 22, and its usual message—take care of our planet—has been given added urgency by the challenges highlighted in the latest IPCC report. This year, Ars is taking a look at the technologies we normally cover, from cars to chipmaking, and finding out how we can boost their sustainability and minimize their climate impact.
For many people, buying an electric vehicle puts a stake in the ground—if I’m going to drive around town, I’m going to do it while reducing my carbon footprint.

“Gone are the days of burning toxic gasoline. A new age of electrons and instant torque is upon us,” you might say, standing next to your new vehicle and blue recycling bin.
But as with traditional vehicles, not all EVs are equal in terms of their impact on the world. A quick look at the specs and sheer size of the new GMC Hummer EV is all you need to understand where some automakers are willing to take the powertrain—and it’s not in service of efficiency.

Not all EPA testing is equal.

If you want to determine which EVs are the most efficient, a good place to start is the Environmental Protection Agency’s fuel consumption ratings. The EPA lists electric vehicles based on the amount of energy they use to travel 100 miles, and the lower the number of kilowatt-hours of electricity used, the more efficient the vehicle is.
For example, according to the EPA, the 2022 Tesla Model 3 RWD uses 25 kWh per
100 miles traveled, while the 2022 Audi e-tron S (with 21- or 22-inch wheels) uses a less-efficient 52 kWh per 100 miles traveled. (Note that larger wheels typically reduce the range of a vehicle.)

For the model year 2022, these are the top five most efficient vehicles for sale right now based on the EPA’s measurement of energy used per 100 miles:

2022 Tesla Model 3 RWD: 25 kWh
2022 Lucid Air Grand Touring: 26 kWh
2022 Chevy Bolt: 28 kWh
2022 Hyundai Kona Electric: 28 kWh
2022 Tesla Model S: 28 kWh

The Top 10 finishers were the Model Y, Bolt EUV, Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and finally, the Kia Niro, all of which posted 30 kWh of energy usage per 100 miles or lower.

These are impressive numbers, but there’s something else to take into consideration—namely, the adjustment factor used to determine EPA range data. To get these numbers, all EVs are strapped to dynamometers (like a treadmill for cars) and run until their battery is depleted. It’s not quite a real-world test, as the vehicles don’t have to deal with changing elevations, wind, asphalt discrepancies, and all the various other issues they would encounter on actual roads.

To make matters a bit more complicated, some automakers take the EPA’s 30 percent adjustment factor. For example, if a vehicle travels 500 miles on the dynamometer, the automaker takes a 30 percent hit, which reduces that range by 150 miles, giving you 350 miles of range on the EPA cycle. It’s the method used by Hyundai, Kia, and GM. Tesla and Lucid do something different. They perform additional runs on the dynamometer and are allowed to use those results to produce better adjustment factors. Those numbers help bump their range numbers up.

So while the EVs listed above are certainly efficient, they’re not all being tested in the same way, and that can result in discrepancies.

Factory impact
As automakers are transitioning to battery-electric vehicles, they’re also touting their current or eventual carbon-neutral factories. A cleaner factory results in a cleaner vehicle coming off the line. It’s a commendable plan, but for many manufacturers, it’s a promise that hasn’t quite been implemented yet. Tesla seems to have the most difficulty in this area at its Fremont, California, factory, where it produces all the vehicles it sells in the United States.

In February 2022, the automaker settled with the EPA over Clean Air Act violations spanning from 2016 through 2019. In 2019, the company was fined by the EPA for hazardous waste violations, and in May of 2021, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District fined the company $1 million for violations, including exceeding its permitted emissions. The Lucid Air is built at the company’s new Arizona factory. The 500-acre property in Casa Grande, Arizona, spun up in the fall of 2021, but the company hasn’t yet announced any carbon-neutral or energy-reducing initiatives at the plant.

The Kia EV6 is built in Hwaseong, Korea, and Kia announced that it has improved the handling of chemicals and is moving to alternative products for the production of vehicles at the plant. Meanwhile, Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 and Kona Electric are both built at Ulsan Plant 1 in South Korea. The company announced that it plans to make all locations carbon neutral and run on 100 percent renewable power by 2045. That’s a long way off.

Finally, the Chevy Bolt and Bolt EUV are both built at the Orion plant in Michigan, which uses landfill gas to power the plant. Other manufacturers are doing better, though. While the Porsche Taycan isn’t on the top 10 list, the company’s Zuffenhausen factory is carbon neutral, and all electricity comes from renewable sources. So it’s possible for an automaker to hit its factory efficiency goals; it just might take longer for some to do so.

image.png
Porsche had a complicated job to upgrade Zuffenhausen to begin production of the Taycan, but it succeeded, and the car’s production is carbon neutral.

Wherever they’re built, there’s one thing EVs can’t escape: They have a larger manufacturing footprint than that of comparable gas-powered vehicles. This fact has become ammunition for those eager to argue that EVs are just as bad for the environment as gas-powered vehicles. The idea is right up there with the myth that the United States is powered almost entirely by coal and that EVs are thus worse polluters than gas engines. The reality is that coal makes up about 20 to 22 percent of the national power grid.

Still, the amount of energy and resources needed to build an EV exceed those of a gas car. But once both vehicles are on the road, the carbon footprint immediately begins to narrow.
According to a recent Reuters article using a model developed by the Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago, the point at which an EV’s carbon footprint meets and begins to fall below that of a comparable gas vehicle in the United States is at around 13,500 miles.

So after an average year of driving, the EV is better for the environment. Beyond that, the gap widens. This data is based on the national average of the electrical grid’s energy sources. Your situation may vary depending on what types of power stations feed your area’s electrical needs; for more localized information, the Union of Concerned Scientists has an online tool that lets you check how clean an EV is in your zip code compared to a vehicle that gets the mid-sized vehicle average of 29 miles per gallon.

EV or your old car

Of course, buying a new or used car right now isn’t easy. Prices have skyrocketed, and many dealers are adding ludicrous markups that were previously only found on low-production, high-performance vehicles. Hopefully, prices will come back down to normal, and more options will be available in the future. But right now, strictly considering cost, it may be better to keep your older gas-powered vehicle, especially if it’s paid off. EVs are still relatively expensive, even with federal tax credits.

But if you’re more concerned about your carbon footprint than cost, there are some quick calculations we can do. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, in 2021, the average age of a car on the road was 12.1 years. So let’s go back in time 12 years to 2010. Per EPA data reported by The New York Times, the average miles per gallon for 2010 was roughly 22.5 miles per gallon. According to the EPA, an average vehicle that gets 22 miles per gallon emits 404 grams of CO2 per mile.

Let’s say the vehicle travels 10,000 miles per year. That’s 4,040,000 grams (or 8,907 pounds) of CO2 making its way into the world each year. On the EV front, let’s look at the Chevy Bolt or Hyundai Kona since they are the least expensive of the top five vehicles, starting at $31,500 and $34,000, respectively. According to the EPA, both emit 130 grams of CO2 per mile, based on the average US electricity mix. After 10,000 miles, that’s 1,300,000 grams (or 2,866 pounds) of CO2 per year.

Tesla Model Y: True Cost Of Ownership After 2 Years (msn.com)
Per year, the EV produces roughly 6,041 pounds less CO2 than the 2010 vehicle.
As far as manufacturing goes, the old car is already built, so let’s give it a pass regarding its manufacturing carbon footprint. According to a 2015 Union of Concerned Scientists report, a full-size long-range (265 miles) vehicle had a carbon footprint of about six tons, or 12,000 pounds.

In two years, the EV will have caught up to the used car in terms of ecological footprint. After that, as with new gas cars, an EV surpasses it in efficiency for its entire life cycle. So the only real issue at this point is cost. EVs are still out of reach for those who can’t afford to drop $30,000 on a vehicle, even with federal tax credits. But if the recent uptick in EV sales due to the jump in gas prices continues, the economies of scale might yield some EVs that will make the daily commute better for the environment without breaking the bank.

Heartless Biden Regime to Rip Newborn Baby from Single Mom and January 6th Protester Felicia Konold – Feds Insist ‘She’ Is a ‘Proud Boy’ –

Published April 11, 2022, by The Gateway Pundit
Felicia Konold faces more than 30 years of prison time if found guilty of the crime of marching at the “Stop The Steal” Protest on January 6th. She has been indicted for the ridiculous charge of “Conspiracy” for walking next to a group of Proud Boys.

The fake news media has painted her as a “Proud Boy.” (She is NOT, the Proud Boys
are an all-male fraternity and drinking club.) Felicia’s newborn son will be taken away
by the government if she is convicted and sent to prison.  This is her incredible story.

While still asleep in the early morning of February 11, 2021, 20+ FBI Agents and Federal SWAT Team members kicked in the door to Felicia Konold’s farmhouse.  The 26-year-old single mother awoke suddenly to officers yelling from outside, “FBI! Come out of the house, now!”
Through the windows, Felicia saw an entire row of 15+ unmarked vehicles lined up nose
to tail along the main road.  Their bright flashing lights and mounted spotlights pierced the darkness.  In passing she banged on the door to her aunt’s room, told her to wake up and go outside, that the FBI was at the door.  Her Aunt said, “Ok, let me get ready”.
On her way to the front door Felicia responded back, “No, you have to come NOW!”

Felicia Konold before January 6th, and her photo
was used by the FBI to identify her from January 6th.

FLASHBACK…On February 13, 2020, Felica Konold was involved in a horrific vehicle accident in which she tragically went through the windshield.  In those early morning hours of February 14th, she received hours of life-saving surgery, and was a day nobody involved expected her to survive.

Felicia Konold after her accident.

She visited the RedWood Forest, Yellowstone National Park, and the Grand Canyon.
She fell in love with “Lobstah” Rolls in Maine, drove a Maserati in North Carolina, surfed during a hurricane in the Carolinas, and camped out in many national parks.  It was during one of these road trips while in Tennessee with her younger brother, Cory Konold, that they learned of President Trump’s “Save America” rally to be held on January 6th in Washington DC.  She mentioned they should go and see the President speak if they were in the vicinity.  This led to the events described in this article…FLASHFORWARD

Felicia and her newborn son born after January 6th,

Felicia opened the front door to find approximately 20 officers with shields and automatic rifles pointed directly at her.  They immediately ordered her to put her hands up and walk towards them.  They asked if she had any weapons on her.  Pointing to the night clothes she had been sleeping in, Felicia responded “Does it look like I have any weapons on me?  What in the world is this all about?”  While Felicia walked towards them, they continued to yell for her to put her hands on her head.
As she approached the halfway distance to them, they quickly advanced, grabbed her hands and handcuffed them behind her back.  They then asked, “Is there anybody else in the house?”  Felicia responded “Yes, my aunt!  She is disabled, and she’s in her bedroom,” and then proceeded to describe the location in the house.

As many of the agents entered the house to clear it, Felicia was kept outside.  The agents escorted her aunt out to the living room area, while other agents scoured the house searching for weapons.  They brought all the weapons outside, cleared them, and then laid them on a nearby table. When the “all clear” was given, Felicia noticed one of the guns was unaccounted for and notified the agents they had missed one.  Felicia told them what it was and where they could find it, calling after them “Be careful, it is loaded!”  She then looked back at the officer holding her and questioned in disbelief, “You guys seriously get paid to do this?”
They walked Felicia to one of the unmarked SUVs, then continued to raid the house
for hours. In total, they seized about 2 pages worth of completely unrelated items and personal possessions.  Of the items seized, only two or three even pertained to the events of January 6th.

Refusing to answer Felicia’s questions regarding why all of this was happening, they took her in the unmarked FBI SUV to an FBI facility about an hour away.  On the ride there, Felicia remarked that the music sucked.  They asked, “Would you happen to have a song request, then?”  “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue,” Felicia replied.  Felicia sang along, following it with Shania Twain’s “I Feel Like a Woman”.
Once at the FBI facility, Felicia was interrogated for 3 to 4 hours.  Here they asked Felicia questions without answering any of her questions as to what this was all about – although she began to get an idea.  After steadfastly refusing to answer their questions until they answered hers, Felicia was then taken on a 3- or 4-hour drive to what can best be described as “a large, undisclosed Federal Prison facility.” For transport, Felicia was shackled on both feet and hands, which then were secured to a waist chain.

A ridiculous fake news compilation of photos of January 6th protesters indicted with Felicia Konold.

She is labeled as a “Proud Boy” by the fake news. (Proud Boys are a male organization and do not let females join.)
“They were packing some serious heat,” Felicia recalled.  “I was actually shocked that I was being treated like a mass murderer – the whole experience seemed surreal.  Especially since I never even committed any kind of violence, whatsoever, and had been co-operative throughout.  Not to mention I had never been arrested before this, so the entire situation I found myself in was worse than any nightmare I ever had.  Little did I know just how much worse it would get.”
Upon arrival at the Federal Prison where she would spend the next 9 days, Felicia was then secured to a wheelchair kind of apparatus and transported inside the facility.  Immediately upon entering, she looked to her right and saw her younger brother, Cory Konold, sitting in a holding cell.  She called out his name and they looked at each other.
Knowing that her younger brother had to have gone through similar things as she did, her heart sunk to the pit of her stomach.  As Felicia had always been extremely protective of him in a motherly kind of way, this was the precise moment that broke Felicia’s heart.
Further, Felicia recalls the entire reality of the situation suddenly hit her like a ton of bricks.  It awakened her out of a state of “fogginess” and “shock” from disbelief, into reality.  She was ACTUALLY a PRISONER inside a PRISON!

Felicia Konold and her son born after Jan. 6th.

Next, Felicia was taken to a tiny, one-person wire-mesh cage with a chair and no room to maneuver or walk around.  Here she sat for 8+ hours until all the other in-take prisoners – including her brother – passed by and into another room out of sight to be processed.   When she was retrieved and went through her own unique processing, two guards were at her side the entire duration.
While the other prisoners were given multiple sets of clothes, bed linens, toiletries, and allowed a phone call – Felicia was given only one set of clothes and nothing else!  She was not even allowed to have a phone call!  Prompted by the exchange between her and Cory when she entered, she was asked by the intake personnel if Cory Konold was her husband.  “Cory is my younger brother,” she corrected them.
After this intake process, Felicia was escorted to what would become her holding cell through a maze of approximately 15 gates and common areas.  This alone proved daunting in that each area they approached had to be evacuated, then secured, before they could proceed.

DAY 2:  Detainment in Federal Prison
Her holding cell was a cement square, without windows, and with a metal bed anchored to the walls.  There was a combination metal sink/toilet bowl as a single unit, and the sink had only a drip of water that would come out.  There was also a Solid Door with a window and another small opening with a smaller trapdoor below the window.  The incredibly strong smell of fresh paint on the walls covered a lingering and permanent musky smell, leading to an ever-persistent and lingering headache for Felicia over the days that followed.
The small trapdoor below the window on the door is where Felicia’s food was delivered, given to her only after she complied with orders to stand facing the back wall of her cell.  She was always the last person served in a pod that included approximately 50 prisoners.  The food given to her was always old, soggy, or stale – and even moldy at times.  Knowing she was pregnant, Felicia forced her starving self to devour every possible bite, even if it meant swallowing back the vomit.
Through the same small trapdoor, Felicia would have to put her hands out to be handcuffed before they would open the door for her to leave her cell.  Everyone else in the “pod” was allowed to leave their cells every other day to shower, hang out in the rec area, or go outside for an hour of fresh air.  Felicia, however, was denied all these things – even going over 5 days before being allowed even a brisk shower!
However, one of the things that Felicia did do on a regular basis throughout her time spent in this cell, was to sing the National Anthem.  Many of the other prisoners in the adjoining cells within the pod complimented her on her singing and even gave her the nickname “Songbird”.  In times of quiet, they would often yell out “Sing for us, Songbird.”

Felicia’s son Henry, at risk for being taken away by The Biden Regime
if Konold is found guilty and sent to prison.

In summary, the last two years have been a wild rollercoaster ride for Felicia Konold.
On February 14, 2020, she found herself in the hospital fighting for her life.  On February 14, 2021, she had her life turned upside-down as she was held as a Political Prisoner.  However, on February 14, 2022 she was home with both her 10-year-old son and 3-month-old newborn son, Henry Snow! Although she is incredibly thankful to be with her two sons, she does remain a Political Prisoner in home confinement under very tight supervision and restrictions – facing more than 30 years of prison time.
However, the thing that Felicia dreads the most to this very day is the very real possibility that she may be separated from her two sons, at the very point in their lives when they will need her the most.
This, coupled with the lies and slander about her throughout the Mainstream Media, makes it nearly impossible for her to find constant work to support her and her family.  Not only does Felicia rely on the generous financial support of Americans and Patriots around our nation to survive and provide for her family, but she also faces growing legal expenses and upcoming medical expenses.

Land 0f Confusion

Bernie Sanders says Manchin and Sinema have ‘sabotaged’ Biden’s agenda:
‘Two people who prevented us from doing it’
(Brent D. Griffiths)  bgriffiths@insider.com

LIVING IN A LAND OF CONFUSION – THE WORLD is certainly deteriorating rapidly.
I am hearing reports from people worldwide about how bad things are becoming.
Tragically with so many hard-hearted people and the church being dull of hearing, conditions must get worse so that people can become desperate for God. However, this
is not a time for doom and gloom. Thankfully, where sin abounds, grace does much more abound. And God’s grace is always sufficient for those who will simply call upon the Lord. Even so, come Lord Jesus!

https://www.sourceministries.net/go/2012/08/living-in-a-world-of-confusion/
Bernie Sanders said Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema have “sabotaged” Biden’s agenda. Sanders unloaded on two of his fellow Senate Democrats for opposing parts of Biden’s economic plan. His criticism comes at a time when Democrats are increasingly pessimistic about passing even parts of Biden’s agenda.

9 Key Senate Races to Watch in the 2022 Midterms (businessinsider.com)
These 9 Senate races hold the key to who will control Joe Biden’s agenda after the midterm elections in America. Democrats and Republicans will battle over Senate seats in nine key states in November. The outcomes will determine who controls the Senate next year.
Polling shows Republican congressional candidates have an edge against Democrats.
There will be 34 US Senate elections this year, but control of the US Senate will hinge
on just nine contests. Both Democrats and Republicans have their eyes on the key swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Ohio,

All are considered competitive by the Cook Political Report, which tracks congressional and presidential races, as well as operatives and pollsters from both parties.
Democrats are playing defense in four of those states, while Republicans are seeking to keep five more. At stake for both parties is control of the US Senate, and whoever holds power come January 2023 will determine what, if anything, President Joe Biden can accomplish in the final two years of his first term.
Democrats barely hold the Senate. The chamber is divided 50-50 between the two parties, with Vice President Kamala Harris serving as a tie-breaker (the chamber’s two independents, Vermont’s Bernie Sanders and Maine’s Angus King, caucus with Democrats).

Republicans are eager to capitalize on voters’ concerns about inflation and
frustration with the lingering pandemic in order to oust at least one incumbent Democrat.
Political winds may be on their side. Recent polling shows voters are frustrated with Democrats, mostly due to economic concerns. And an ABC News poll from February found that Republican congressional candidates have a seven-point edge over Democratic ones among registered voters. The gap is even starker among voters who are registered and also certain to vote, with Republican candidates leading Democratic ones 54-41%.
While home-state factors will weigh in on each of those senate races, national forces, such as Trump’s continued sway over Republican voters, economic anxiety, and frustration over the coronavirus pandemic will also likely play a role in deciding the balance of power in Washington. Sen. Bernie Sanders unloaded Sunday on Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema, calling out the pair of centrist Democrats by name and arguing that they have “sabotaged” President Joe Biden’s agenda.
“You have two members of the Senate, Sen. Manchin and Sen. Sinema, who have sabotaged what the president has been fighting for,” Sanders told NBC’s Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press.”
Todd responded that “sabotage” was a “strong word” to use, but Sanders doubled down on his criticism of his Democratic colleagues. Sanders, a Vermont independent who caucuses with Senate Democrats, also serves on Senate Democratic leadership with Manchin.
“You got 48 members of the Senate who wanted to go forward with an agenda that helped working families, that was prepared to take on the wealthy and the powerful,” Sanders said. “You got a president who wanted to do that. You had two people who prevented us from doing it.”

Sanders and Manchin have tussled publicly before, but this latest round comes as progressive Democrats express increasing exasperation with Manchin and Sinema.
The two senators have opposed passing parts of Biden’s sweeping climate and spending plan once known as “Build Back Better” into law.
Manchin snapped at Sanders in January when the former presidential candidate hinted that the West Virginia Democrat should potentially face a primary challenger.
“Well, Senator Sanders is not a Democrat,” Manchin said at the time, adding that Sanders’ ideology was “not what I think the majority of Americans represent.”

There is hope that a slimmed-down version of the once $3.5 trillion proposal can still pass, but Democrats are increasingly running out of time as the midterm election approaches.
Both Manchin and Sinema have repeatedly expressed concern over rising inflation as prices spike to their worst point in 40 years. Their inflation-related fears have only added to skepticism about even small pieces of Biden’s plan becoming law. As Insider previously reported, Manchin has also thrown cold water on universal pre-K and other aspects of the original plan.
The White House has also tweeded off on Manchin in the past, a move that reportedly led Manchin to effectively kill Build Back Better late last year. Since then, Biden and his team have been careful not to publicly question Manchin’s loyalty.
The most recent example of this was this past week when Manchin joined Senate Republicans in blocking Democrats from passing federal abortion protections into law. Manchin told reporters that he supports codifying Roe v. Wade, but he argued that Democrats’ proposal goes too far.  Biden released a statement attacking Senate Republicans for opposing the bill, but Manchin’s name or even a mention of his
opposition was nowhere to be found. Read the original article on Business Insider

Eating crow is a colloquial idiom,[1] used in some English-speaking countries, that
means humiliation by admitting having been proven wrong after taking a strong position.[2] The crow is a carrion-eater that is presumably repulsive to eat in the same way that being proven wrong might be emotionally hard to swallow.[2] The exact origin of the idiom is unknown, but it probably began with an American story published around 1850 about a dim-witted New York farmer.[3] Eating crow is of a family of idioms having to do with eating and being proven incorrect, such as to “eat dirt” and to “eat your hat” (or shoe), all probably originating from “to eat one’s words”, which first appears in print in 1571 in one of John Calvin‘s tracts, on Psalm 62: “God eateth not his words when he hath once spoken”.[2]

Literally eating a crow is traditionally seen as being distasteful; the crow, if understood
to be a type of raven, is one of the birds listed in Leviticus chapter 11[4] as being unfit for eating. Scavenging carrion eaters have a long association with the battlefield,
“They left the corpses behind for the raven, never was there greater slaughter in this island,” says the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. Along with buzzardsrats, and other carrion-eating scavenging animals, there is a tradition in Western culture going back to at least the Middle Ages of seeing them as distasteful (even illegal at times) to eat,[5] and thus naturally humiliating if forced to consume against one’s will.[2]

A million COVID deaths: Here’s when the U.S. shot past the rest of the developing world.
By John Woolfolk, Harriet Blair Rowan, Bay Area News Group

Two years ago, COVID-19 was killing Western Europeans faster than Americans.
Even in early 2021, the virus wasn’t taking U.S. lives at the clip it was in the United Kingdom, Italy or Belgium.
But that changed last fall.
By November, after the delta variant swept through the country, the United States’ overall death rate shot past its European peers as well as its neighbor to the south, Mexico. This month, as the U.S. marks its millionth COVID-19 death, the country is left pondering how the richest nation on earth has recorded nearly a sixth of the 6.25 million reported deaths from the virus around the world.
The answer is regrettable, said Ali H. Mokdad, professor of health metrics at the University of Washington’s Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation.
“The main driver of our higher mortality is we did not adhere to mandates on social mobility, wearing masks, and other countries did a much better job,” he said. “And second, we had a lot of deaths after we had vaccines.”
More than 400,000 of those 1 million U.S. deaths came after May 2021 when COVID-19 vaccines became widely available here to all adults – and they came, in large part, because many Americans have avoided the shots. At about two-thirds of its population, the U.S. has a smaller share of fully vaccinated people than most countries in Western Europe, including the U.K., France, Germany, Spain and Italy, which are all at or above three-quarters.

“Not only did we have vaccines, but we had plenty of vaccines, and we had
plenty of good vaccines,” Mokdad said. “So that has been a failure in our approach.”
Things were different at first. In May 2020 the U.S. death rate was half that of Italy –
hit hard in one of the world’s worst early outbreaks.
According to Johns Hopkins University figures compiled by Our World in Data,
run by the nonprofit Global Change Data Lab based in the United Kingdom.
But by last November, the U.S. death rate had eclipsed that of Italy, as well as Belgium,
the United Kingdom and Mexico.
Today it is 50% higher than the combined rate for high-income countries worldwide, as well as the combined rates in South America, Europe, Asia or Africa.
It’s nearly 25% higher than the rate for the European Union.
Experts generally agree with Catherine Troisi, an infectious disease epidemiologist with UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, that America’s “very individualistic society” resisted health regulations to an extent not seen in other developed nations. The situation here was made worse, they say, by the extreme politicization of public health during the COVID crisis. Elsewhere in the world, politicization has taken different forms. In particular, many nations – including India, Russia and China – are thought to have purposefully undercounted their COVID toll.

The World Health Organization earlier this month estimated excess deaths from the virus – the number of deaths above baseline levels seen in prior years – at 15 million globally in the first two years of the pandemic, 2 ½ higher than the official tally. It’s not all deliberate: Many poorer nations simply haven’t been able to track the disease accurately. But in wealthier, Western nations, the counts are much more accurate – and they point to America’s resistance, especially to vaccines.
“Wearing a mask, not wearing a mask,” Troisi said, “getting vaccinated or not getting vaccinated, was linked to your political identity.”

What is Pushing High Gas Prices

With supply low and demand high, gas prices are high.
© Provided by James Hendrickson

Suppressed Production Keeps Gas Prices High
With supply low and demand high, gas prices are high and rising. However, it is not the market that drives the prices but investor demands, according to a survey of oil executives.

Rising Gas Prices
The price at the pump increased to record highs for three days in a row this week. The average price for a gallon of gas as of Friday stood at $4.43, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA). In some western states, the cost near or tops $5 gallon.
There are 9,173 oil drilling permits issued to oil companies on over 24 million acres of federal land. Critics, including President Biden, say those permits should be used to increase production and bring down prices. However, industry officials contend that it would take six to 12 months for wells to begin producing. That’s what is keeping oil companies from using those permits?

Capital Discipline

The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas found that most oil executives
blame investors who are responsible for tamping down drilling and keeping gas prices high.
“Slightly over half—59 percent—of executives believe investor pressure to maintain capital discipline is the primary reason that publicly traded oil producers are restraining growth despite high oil prices,” according to the bank’s Dallas Fed Energy Survey.
For decades, petroleum companies made money for their investors by drilling and producing more oil to meet growing demand. Capital discipline puts investor returns ahead of production. In other words, income is plowed back to investors in the form of dividends at the expense of increased drilling and production.

But Why?
The pandemic resulted in a sharp drop in demand for gasoline.
As a result, in April 2020 crude oil prices went negative for the first time in history.
That time is known as the 2020 oil bust. In addition, the fracking boom and bust of
a few years before was fresh in investors’ minds when 2020 crude prices crashed.
From 2014 to 2016, fracking dramatically increased oil production.
That resulted in a cataclysmic drop in prices. The price of a barrel of U. S.-produced oil
fell 70 percent from $100 to $30, according to the World Bank. Investors lost substantial sums in those two episodes. As a result, the call for capital discipline became the mantra of oil and gas investors.

What’s Ahead
Oil companies are increasing production, according to the Dallas Fed survey.
However, do not expect Big Oil to lead the charge. Median production by the largest oil producers rose six percent from the fourth quarter of 2021 to the first quarter of 2022.
Smaller, independent producers are projecting 15 percent growth. Most small firms are not publicly traded. Therefore, they are not pressured by investors to keep production down.
“In the world of money, everyone lives on bended knee,” Brian Thomas, a managing director at Prudential Private Capital, told a gathering of oil executives. “The industry
is beginning to kind of morph its behavior to reflect the concerns of its investor base,
right or wrong.”
With U. S. production down and OPEC unwilling to ramp up supply, gas prices are expected to remain high through at least the end of the year. Anthony Fauci, the president’s chief medical advisor, says he “just can’t explain” a White House tweet
stating the COVID-19 vaccine wasn’t available when President Joe Biden took office.

Fauci made the remarks Friday to CNN‘s Jake Tapper, who asked him about the since corrected tweet that seemed to falsely give credit to Biden for the vaccine’s development. The exchange comes as the Biden administration seeks to defend its record against withering criticism from political opponents.
During the segment, Tapper pointed to a Thursday tweet from the White House stating that “when President Biden took office, millions were unemployed and there was no vaccine available.” “But as you know, that’s not true,” said Tapper. “There was a vaccine available, it might not have been widely available, but it was available.”

Tapper said that CNN fact-checker Daniel Dale found that more than 3 million Americans had been fully vaccinated and more than 18 million had at least one shot as of Biden’s inauguration on January 20, 2021.
“Why is the White House politicizing the pandemic by tweeting out that there was no vaccine available until Joe Biden became president?” asked Tapper. “It’s not true.”
“So you’re talking to the wrong person,” deflected Fauci. “I wasn’t involved in the tweet.
I just can’t explain it. Sorry.”
Tapper responded by asking Fauci if he agreed it was important to have facts about the vaccine, “whether it’s from the Trump White House or the Biden White House,” and that the vaccine became available before Biden was sworn in.

Fauci agreed, adding,
“I think from a pure accuracy, that’s not a correct statement.”
By Friday afternoon, the White House had corrected the tweet.

“We previously misstated that vaccines were unavailable in January 2021. We should
have said that they were not widely available,” the White House said in a follow-up tweet. “Vaccines became available shortly before the President came into office. Since then, he’s been responsible for fully vaccinating over 200 million people.”
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first authorized the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine on December 11, 2020. Developing a vaccine was a priority for
then-President Donald Trump.

The vaccine was initially only available to people particularly vulnerable to the virus because of a medical condition, their age or occupation. Currently, 66.4 percent of the
U.S. population, 220 million people, is fully vaccinated, according to numbers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Biden has seen sagging poll numbers going into the 2022 midterm elections amid
high inflation and gas prices. Seeking to stem possible losses, the president and his allies have played up his administration’s handling of the pandemic and how the U.S. has seen record-low unemployment numbers since he took office.

Woodrow Wilson After a policy of neutrality at the outbreak of World War I, Wilson led America into war in order to “make the world safe for democracy.” Like Roosevelt before him, Woodrow Wilson regarded himself as the personal representative of the people.

Who was President when WW2 began?

WW2 lasted for only six years, but saw two presidents overseeing the conflict.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected president in 1933 and was the only president to serve more than two terms. WW2 began on September 1, 1939, when Hitler invaded Poland.
Two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany. During the first few years of the war, the United States stayed out of the conflict aside from providing military supplies to the Allied powers, which consisted of France, Great Britain, and later the Soviet Union and China. The United States officially entered the conflict after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii on December 7, 1941. Roosevelt declared war on Japan the day after.

When did Harry Truman take office?

Roosevelt died on April 12, 1945, from a cerebral hemorrhage.
His vice president at the time, Harry Truman, was sworn in as president just two hours after hearing word of Roosevelt’s death. Truman served as president for the last few months of the war and oversaw huge decisions regarding ending the global conflict. Truman ordered the dropping of the atomic bomb on Japanese cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki that led to the Japanese surrendering. In 1945, he also witnessed the signing of the charter of the United Nations.

I would put LBJ, Carter, Clinton and Obama as ties with Biden’s worthlessness in my Lifetime. Biden’s brain is in recession, and the brain cells he’s losing are devaluing at the same rate as the US dollar. (When Trump left office inflation was 1.4% and 16 months later 10%) ….

TRUMP Gas was $1.93 when he left office and increased to $3.76 before Putin invaded Ukraine…. Thanks to Brandon’s policies we have x2 gas and grocery prices, and a $3,500 drop in annual real wages. Trump was a billionaire business entrepreneur. Biden is just a backslapping DUMBASS’ bureaucrat. No comparison. Shame on those who promoted Biden’s candidacy for the last 50 years and those who voted for him in 2020.

Violent Spikes in Crimes

Biden’s ‘ultra-MAGA’ attack is product of six-month study led by Anita Dunn ©
Provided by Washington Examiner – Search (bing.com)

A reference to former President Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” campaign slogan, Biden coined the term in a speech last week to describe the GOP agenda and what he said are extreme positions from congressional and down-ballot Republicans. The president has repeated it in remarks at the White House and stump-style speeches across the country. On Tuesday, Biden’s press secretary described it as “the president’s phrase,” adding the “ultra” epithet for “a little extra pop.”

BIDEN INVENTS ‘ULTRA-MEGA’ REPUBLICANS AS MIDTERM ELECTION TRUMP SUBSTITUTE

But the origins of the attack go back further.
For six months, Democratic messaging guru Anita Dunn and the Center for American Progress Action Fund oversaw an effort to discern Republicans’ weak spot, according  to the Washington Post. Dunn, a longtime Biden adviser, returned in May to the White House in a senior adviser role — the third time since the start of the president’s term.
“MAGA,” the group’s surveys and focus groups found, stood out in battleground areas
for its negative ties.
But the slogan, intended to malign Republicans by tying their agenda to Trump,
has instead ricocheted back as many on the Right embrace the new moniker.
That includes the former president, who “absolutely loved” Biden’s reference to “my predecessor, the great MAGA king” during a Chicago union hall speech this week and mocked Biden and Democrats privately for failing to understand how to sell a political message, a source briefed on Trump’s thinking told the Washington Post.
On Wednesday, his Save America PAC sent out fundraising calls featuring merchandise emblazoned with Trump as a MAGA Superman and embracing “ultra-MAGA” as a rallying cry.
“If loving your Country and wanting to put AMERICA FIRST makes you ULTRA MAGA, then yes. WE ARE ULTRA MAGA,” reads an email. It has also been co-opted by pro-Trump groups. An email Friday from Great America PAC asked supporters to answer,
“Just one question”: “Are you ULTRA-MAGA?”

The White House said Biden does not fear blowback from his new rhetorical attack.

Asked whether Biden might come to regret the slogan as former Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton came to regret calling Trump’s supporters “a basket of deplorables” in 2016, Biden’s press secretary said he would not. “The president is not afraid to call out what he sees as extreme positions that are out of line with where the American people stand,” Jen Psaki said.

White House ‘inherited’ murder spike from Trump, Psaki says (msn.com)

Cities across America are experiencing a spike in violent crimes, and Democrats want you to believe it is higher in cities in Red States. However, in Ohio our major cities of Cleveland, Toledo, Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati all have Democrat mayors and the Buck Stops at the Mayor’s Office. Blue cities represent the biggest jumps in crime by a wide margin considering the majority of those cities have Democrat protected police forces. Few large cities are governed by Republicans — only 26 of the 100 largest U.S. cities have Republican mayors — making apples-to-apples comparisons difficult.

Researching these 8 Cities Help Define the National Crime Wave.

Portland, Oregon, which was fabulous when I visited in 2017 (not so today) is the poster child for progressive leadership that leads to dysfunction and high crime. In 2020 Like Minneapolis, Portland was hit with protests. Mayor Ted Wheeler, a Democrat, not only participated in the protests, but he was tear-gassed at one.
Also, Chicago was the scene of some of the nation’s biggest protests and riots, with large parts of downtown (like Portland) burned and destroyed. Mobs tore through all three city’s famous shopping districts and looted stores en masse. It was a preview of what was to come. Mayor Lori Lightfoot mostly supported the protests in the city and pledged to cut $80 million from the police budget.

(On) Wednesday afternoon, on December 23, 2021 at around 2:45p.m., U.S. Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Pa., was carjacked at gunpoint in broad daylight in Philadelphia. The incident was symbolic of a city plunged into criminality and violence after years of decreasing crime. Like other cities on this list, Philadelphia leaders defunded police, but then refunded the force after crime went through the roof. That doesn’t tell the whole story, though. Violent crime had already been rising before the pandemic with the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020. No surprise: San Francisco, the West Coast city now known for its left-wing politics and permissive attitude toward drugs and homelessness, has been rocked by violence and crime.

Nancy Pelosi & Jim Jones – Search (bing.com)

After the Floyd protests, Mayor London Breed and other city leaders defunded the police force by a massive amount. Not only that, but the city has one of the most notorious left-wing district attorneys in the country, Chesa Boudin. Boudin is another Soros-backed district attorney. His father, a member of the terrorist Weather Underground in the 1960s, served 40 years in prison in connection with the murder of two police officers and a Brink’s truck guard during a botched robbery. Like Krasner in Philly, Boudin pursued a course of declining to prosecute serious crimes, reducing sentences, and generally taking an anti-police attitude to law enforcement.

Almost nothing better symbolizes the decline and de-evolution of California than the recent train robberies in January 2022. “At a rate of 90 freight cars ransacked per day, Union Pacific estimates that thefts against its trains are up by more than 160% over the last year. In the year ending October 2021, the increase was a mind-boggling 356%,” the editors at National Review wrote. Images of empty Amazon boxes and wrappers strewn with unwanted merchandise about the tracks in Los Angeles demonstrate the scope of the problem. Even California’s Democrat Governor Newsom, upon surveying the situation, noted: “We look like a Third World country.”

Following the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020, New York City defunded the vaunted
New York Police Department. The City Council pulled about $1 billion out of the police budget in 2020.
The city’s Marxist mayor at the time, Marxist Warren Wilhelm Jr. (a.k.a Bill de Blasio), celebrated the move. “We are reducing the size of our police force by not having the next recruit class. We are reducing our overtime levels. We’re shifting functions away from police to civilian agencies,” de Blasio said, according to NPR. “We think it’s the right thing to do. It will take work. It will take effort and we’re going to be reforming that work in the meantime.”

Can you guess what happened next?

Violent crime went through the roof.

“The number of shootings soared 97% from 777 in 2019 to 1,531 in 2020 and murders jumped by 44% from 319 to 462, according to the NYPD,” the New York Post reported
and In 2021, things got worse. In a nod to the Black Lives Matter protests, the District of Columbia created a “Black Lives Matter Way” leading to the White House, then The D.C. City Council stripped $15 million out of the Metropolitan Police Department’s budget in support of the “defund the police” movement. It seemed Mayor Muriel Bowser was committed to the ideas of The Marxist Black Lives Matter group. In 2021, the city—
saw its most violent year in decades.

Global Famine

U.S. President Joe Biden speaks to guests gathered at the O’Connor Grain Farm
on May 11, 2022, in Kankakee, Illinois.

Joe Biden Versus We the People |
by Josh Hammer

How to Make Baby Formula With Karo Syrup (hellomotherhood.com)
Last June, the Biden administration unveiled its “National Strategy for Countering Domestic Terrorism.” Despite its anodyne-sounding name, the “National Strategy” was anything but anodyne. The pamphlet represented the logical culmination of the Left’s cynical use of the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot as a means of ginning up large-scale, nationwide anti-Republican/anti-Trump voter sentiment.
The result, evinced again by Attorney General Merrick Garland’s disgraceful October 2021 memo directing the FBI to intrude on local school board meetings and crack down on anti-critical race theory parental revolts, has been a roiling cold war waged by the ruling class against us “deplorables” and our political “wrong-think.”

Now, seven months after Garland’s infamous Oct. 4 memo, the better question to ask is not whether President Joe Biden is engaged in a cold war merely against the “deplorables.” We know the answer to that: yes. Instead, the more relevant question is whether the Biden administration is now engaged in a cold war against a broader target: the entire American citizenry. The answer to that question, based on all relevant data and metrics, seems to be the same: yes.

Let’s review.

Most obvious and perhaps most important, inflation—which the Federal Reserve finally recently conceded is not “transitory” but here to stay for a while—is now the highest it has been in four decades. The Consumer Price Index increased 8.3% in April on an annualized basis—slightly lower than March’s 8.5% clip, but still painfully above the Fed’s 2% target. Biden has recently declared fighting inflation to be his top domestic priority, but he shows no appetite for curbing the mass inflationary deficit spending that has characterized his presidency. Nor has Biden communicated to Fed Chair Jerome Powell that he is prepared to accommodate the drastic interest rate hikes that are now necessary to bring inflation back under control.

Biden is also looking to “fight” inflation—a de facto regressive tax that eats away everyone’s savings, but hits lower- and middle-class earners the hardest—in all the wrong places. The traditional economic definition of inflation is too much money chasing too few goods, but Democrats seem wholly uninterested in working with Republicans on the sort of industrial policy measures needed to immediately revamp domestic production.

On the contrary, Biden’s priorities are completely backward.

Amidst unprecedented—and potentially lethal—shortages in baby formula, he has not acted swiftly to either invoke the Defense Production Act to ramp up domestic production (after his own FDA shut down a baby formula production facility) or temporarily lift the import tariffs that have helped cartelize the domestic baby formula market. At the same time, Biden has openly mused about ending the Trump administration’s signature tariffs on China. But all that would accomplish is make the median American consumer even more dependent on our geopolitical arch-foe. Fed-driven monetary policy aside, the way to fight inflation on the fiscal side is to accelerate production—not to fortify China’s cheap-labor sword of Damocles that dangles over the American economy.

Perhaps most revealing, as reported by the Washington Examiner, Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) tweeted photos appearing to show “[s]helves and pallets packed with baby formula” at holding facilities for illegal aliens. This, of course, while actual U.S. citizen parents are frantically scrambling from store to store to ensure their babies don’t starve.

Translation: Illegal aliens rule the roost.

But it’s not just the open borders/pro-illegal alien lobby that plays our ruling class like a fiddle; it’s also the zealots in the environmentalist movement. During the same week that nearly 30 states are reporting all-time highs for average gas price at the pump, the Biden administration has canceled offshore oil and natural gas leases in both Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. But Biden has simultaneously admitted that energy accounts for a whopping 60% of the inflation Americans are now experiencing. Higher fuel prices for trucks and tractors, after all, trickle down and affect all goods and foodstuffs farmed and shipped.

Amidst this carnage to Americans’ savings and retirement accounts, it is unfathomable for the administration to further restrict domestic energy production. The only effect of such restrictions, intended to appease the greenie and Malthusian radicals who increasingly dominate the Democratic donor base, is to make Americans even more energy-dependent on such human rights bastions as Venezuela and Saudi Arabia. Our ruling class, full of virtue-signaling electric car owners, no doubt sleeps well at night as normal gasoline-dependent Americans get annihilated at the pump.

Meanwhile, Congress is racing to pass an emergency $40 billion appropriation in aid to Ukraine—a faraway land now roiling in its fourth calendar month of a crippling humanitarian crisis, but hardly a pressing domestic concern. Post-Maidan Revolution Ukraine is a well-known playground for venal slush funds and parochial NGO interests, but that apparently did not give the U.S. House any pause in reviewing the legislation to minimize any gratuitous pork; it rapidly passed Congress’ lower chamber by a lopsided tally of 368-57.

The situation in Ukraine is tragic—but so is the situation at the porous U.S.-Mexico border, which has been completely overrun in recent months by transnational drug cartel-trafficked illegal migrants. Those migrants and cartels are incentivized to make and orchestrate the hazardous journey north due to the Biden administration’s various amnesty magnets, such as its return of Obama-era “catch-and-release” policy for illegal aliens in the U.S. interior.

Translation: Ukraine’s border with Russia matters more than America’s own border with Mexico.

It is difficult to recall the last time a U.S. president persistently acted in a manner so contrary to the interests of the median citizen to whom that president purportedly takes a constitutional oath to protect and defend. Fortunately, Biden’s historically low approval ratings hint at a ballot box remedy for our national woes: A red wave beckons this fall.

18 Signs That Food Shortages Will Get A Lot Worse SHTF!
By Michael Snyder

The alarm bells are ringing.

Are you listening?

18 Signs Food Shortages Will Get A Lot Worse As We Head Into The Second Half Of 2022
If you think that things are bad now, just wait until we get into the second half of this year.  Global food supplies have already also gotten very tight, but it is the food that won’t be produced during this current growing season in the northern hemisphere that will be the real problem.

Worldwide fertilizer prices have doubled or tripled, the war in Ukraine has greatly reduced exports from one of the key breadbaskets of the world, a nightmarish bird flu pandemic is wiping out millions of chickens and turkeys, and bizarre weather patterns are absolutely hammering agricultural production all over the planet.
I have often used the phrase “a perfect storm” to describe what we are facing, but even that phrase really doesn’t seem to do justice to the crisis that we will be dealing with in the months ahead.  The following are 18 signs that food shortages will get a lot worse as we head into the second half of 2022…

#1 The largest fertilizer company on the entire planet is publicly warning that severe supply disruptions “could last well beyond 2022”

THE WORLD’S LARGEST FERTILIZER COMPANY WARNED SUPPLY DISRUPTIONS COULD EXTEND INTO 2023.
A BULK OF THE WORLD’S SUPPLY HAS BEEN TAKEN OFFLINE DUE TO THE INVASION OF UKRAINE BY RUSSIA.
THIS HAS SPARKED SOARING PRICES AND SHORTAGES OF CROP NUTRIENTS IN TOP GROWING AREAS WORLDWIDE; AN EARLY INDICATION OF A GLOBAL FOOD CRISIS COULD BE IN THE BEGINNING INNINGS.
BLOOMBERG REPORTS CANADA-BASED NUTRIEN LTD.’S CEO KEN SEITZ TOLD INVESTORS ON TUESDAY DURING A CONFERENCE CALL THAT HE EXPECTS TO INCREASE POTASH PRODUCTION FOLLOWING SUPPLY DISRUPTIONS IN RUSSIA AND UKRAINE (BOTH MAJOR FERTILIZER SUPPLIERS). SEITZ EXPECTS DISRUPTIONS “COULD LAST WELL BEYOND 2022.”

#2 THE WORLD FERTILIZER PRICE INDEX HAS SKYROCKETED TO ABSURD HEIGHTS THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN SEEN BEFORE.

#3 It is being reported that global grain reserves have dropped to  “extremely low” levels…

“GLOBAL GRAINS STOCKS REMAIN EXTREMELY LOW, AN ISSUE THAT HAS BECOME AMPLIFIED BECAUSE OF RUSSIA’S INVASION OF UKRAINE.

“WE THINK IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST 2-3 YEARS TO REPLENISH GLOBAL GRAINS STOCKS,” ILLINOIS-BASED CF INDUSTRIES HOLDINGS INC.’S PRESIDENT AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER TONY WILL SAID IN A STATEMENT IN WEDNESDAY’S EARNINGS REPORT.

#4 Due to the war, agricultural exports from Ukraine have been completely paralyzed

EARLY 25 MILLION TONNES OF GRAINS ARE STUCK IN UKRAINE AND UNABLE TO LEAVE THE COUNTRY DUE TO INFRASTRUCTURE CHALLENGES AND BLOCKED BLACK SEA PORTS INCLUDING MARIUPOL, A U.N. FOOD AGENCY OFFICIAL SAID ON FRIDAY.

THE BLOCKAGES ARE SEEN AS A FACTOR BEHIND HIGH FOOD PRICES WHICH HIT A RECORD HIGH IN MARCH IN THE WAKE OF RUSSIA’S INVASION OF UKRAINE, BEFORE EASING SLIGHTLY IN APRIL, THE FAO SAID ON FRIDAY.

#5 The out-of-stock rate for baby formula in the United States has now reached 40 percent

THE OUT-OF-STOCK RATE FOR BABY FORMULA HOVERED BETWEEN 2% AND 8% IN THE FIRST HALF OF 2021, BUT BEGAN RISING SHARPLY LAST JULY. BETWEEN NOVEMBER 2021 AND EARLY APRIL 2022, THE OUT-OF-STOCK RATE JUMPED TO 31%, DATA FROM DATASEMBLY SHOWED.
THAT RATE INCREASED ANOTHER 9 PERCENTAGE POINTS IN JUST THREE WEEKS IN APRIL, AND NOW STANDS AT 40%, THE STATISTICS SHOW. IN SIX STATES — IOWA, SOUTH DAKOTA, NORTH DAKOTA, MISSOURI, TEXAS AND TENNESSEE — MORE THAN HALF OF BABY FORMULA WAS COMPLETELY SOLD OUT DURING THE WEEK STARTING APRIL 24, DATASEMBLY SAID.

#6 In six U.S. states, the out-of-stock rate for baby formula has actually risen to 50 percent or greater.
#7 Searches for the phrase “how to make homemade formula for babies” on Google have spiked 120 percent.
#8 We are being told that this is a “perfect storm” as shelves become increasingly bare at food banks all around the nation.
#9 In Canada, more than 1.7 million chickens and turkeys have already been lost in recent months due to the global bird flu pandemic.
#10 In the United States, more than 37 million chickens and turkeys have already been wiped out due to the global bird flu pandemic.
#11 The two largest reservoirs in California, Shasta Lake and Lake Oroville, have both fallen to “critically low levels”.
#12 Some communities in southern California won’t be able to make it through the coming summer months without “significantly cutting back” on their water usage.
#13 Many of the largest lakes around the world are currently in the process of disappearing because they are rapidly drying up.
#14 Wildfires continue to absolutely devastate agricultural land all across the western half of the United States.  This weekend, it was New Mexico’s turn to be hit the hardest

AFTER A FEW DAYS OF CALM THAT ALLOWED SOME FAMILIES WHO HAD FLED WILDFIRES RAGING IN NORTHEAST NEW MEXICO TO RETURN TO THEIR HOMES, DANGEROUS WINDS PICKED UP AGAIN SUNDAY, THREATENING TO SPREAD SPOT FIRES AND COMPLICATE WORK FOR FIREFIGHTERS.
MORE THAN 1,500 FIREFIGHTERS WERE ON THE FIRE LINES AT THE BIGGEST BLAZE EAST AND NORTHEAST OF SANTA FE, WHICH GREW ANOTHER 8 SQUARE MILES (20 SQUARE KILOMETERS) OVERNIGHT TO AN AREA MORE THAN TWICE AS LARGE AS THE CITY OF PHILADELPHIA.

#15 We are being told that steak prices in the United States will “keep rising” in the days ahead.
#16 Due to hail and frost, the Spanish apricot crop is going to be way below expectations

IN SPAIN, THE LATEST FORECASTS SUGGEST PRODUCTION WILL NOT REACH 60,000 TONNES, COMPARED WITH 110,000 TONNES IN 2019 AND 100,000 TONNES IN 2020 AND 90,000 TONNES IN 2021.
IN MURCIA, WHERE AROUND TWO-THIRDS OF SPAIN’S APRICOT PRODUCTION IS LOCATED, FARMERS IN THE MULA RIVER AND NORTHWEST REGIONS HAVE BEEN FORCED TO WRITE OFF THE ENTIRE SEASON FOLLOWING A SEVERE HAILSTORM ON MONDAY WHICH NOT ONLY RESULTED IN THE LOSS OF THE FRUIT, BUT ALSO CAUSED WIDESPREAD DAMAGE TO TREES.

Are there other arenas outside of agriculture?
Another big subject is cannabis therapeutics—exploring some of the emerging technology allowing us to augment quality of life. We’re able to bring chemistry and genomics into
the equation to serve people into a specific fashion, working with seizure disorders, IBS, chronic pain, issues that occur if you’re an oncology patient.
With ag-tech and cannabis therapeutics and the measures of that—it’s interesting to
look at the benefits, either to job creation or innovation. It’ll become one of the largest businesses in Oregon.

Will cannabis as medicine ever become mainstream?
There have been all sorts of false claims—there’s a reason why there’s a lot of distrust….
Cannabinopathic medicine—cannabinoid-based therapy—we’re at the state where we finally bring research…

Why Nice Guys Finish Last

The 10 Traits of Highly Desirable People
By Sherrie Campbell

Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.
Highly desirable people are successful because they build their lives from the inside out.
Most people today live only a small shadow of the dream of who they truly desire to be. There may have been a time in their lives where they were passionate, ambitious and adventurous, but somehow and in some way, they lost that passion, gave up too easily, or expected things to come without the hard work necessary to bring their dream to fruition.

Entitlement has largely replaced passion in people today’s society.
The people out there who are the most fulfilled are those who do not give up on their dreams, who welcome hard work, trust failure will be a part of the process and seek to improve upon themselves each day. These highly desirable people love challenges, do not complain and get up no matter how often they fall down.

These people get the jobs, the relationships and the lives they want.

Ezra Bailey | Getty Images

1. They are real.
Highly desirable people are real. They do not hide behind a superficial persona. They live authentically as who they really are; not wasting any time or energy on having to pretend they are someone they are not. For highly desirable people it is not about making an impression, it’s about being impressive. They have no desire to manipulate a perfect image of themselves in the hopes that no one will see into their real internal conflicts or insecurities. Highly desirable people accept their humanity, their insecurities and don’t live trying to mask them.

2. Treat people with respect.
First and foremost, highly desirable people deeply respect themselves. They have standards of treatment they expect from others and apply those same standards in their treatment of others. Be kind to your neighbor is an important concept for them, where they are open and willing to always give people the benefit of the doubt. Highly desirable people understand how much easier life is when they treat people respectfully. Because of this quality, they attract love instead of hate, success not failure and sustaining careers in lieu of temporary jobs.

3. They love people.
Highly desirable people do not see other people as the enemy, even when those people are their competition. In a highly desirable person’s mindset, competition is friendly and inspiring. Conflict is sure to happen in life and between people, but highly desirable people are able to operate with a sense of firmness backed by grace in the large majority of high stress situations. They are able to do this because, on the whole, they love people and value relationships. It is this character trait which attracts healthier relationships into their lives, making them all that much more successful.

4. They work to make a difference.
Highly desirable people do not stay in careers they dislike or in companies where no one cares about what they offer or what they contribute. Highly desirable people have a burning desire to build, establish and grow their work into something significant in the world. They do what they love and love what they do. Their work gives them a sense of purpose. Highly desirable people are compelled in wanting to leave their mark on the world; knowing they have made a measurable and significantly positive impact.
Highly desirable people feel empty without this effect in their lives.
It is impossible for them to settle for the meaningless.

5. They value their support system.
Highly desirable people know that the quality of their lives resides in the supportive network of love, comradery and friendships they hold close. A life without love and support would be no life at all to these types of people. For them, love and connection come first. This thought is the foundation from which all of their hard work and success stems from. Highly desirable people embrace commitment, unconditional positive regard, supporting others and being supported by others. They hold a great appreciation for the time spent in their relationships and are never too busy to give time to those they love.

6. They are leaders.
Highly desirable people choose their own trajectory in life and career. They ignore the quick-fix-get-rich distractions and commit to their own unique journey and vision. It is
not that they do not listen to the advice of others, because they do see this as useful and extremely valuable, but at the end of the day they follow their own hearts, listen to their gut instincts, knowing they will eventually reach what they have been driving towards.

Related: 15 Traits of Emotionally Wealthy People

7. They are risk takers.
For the highly desirable person it is a core belief that if there is no risk, there can be very little reward. To achieve the levels of success that are in their aspirations they know it will take great risk, and they expect to experience hardship along the way. Highly desirable people take the time to analyze their failures in order to transform them into their greatest successes. People are attracted to highly desirable people, not because of the money they make or status they acquire, but because they are good people.

8. They have a life strategy.
Highly desirable people have a life plan. They think deeply about what they want out of life and do not live haphazardly. They hold clear visions for where they want to be in ten years. They are clear, while remaining open to new ideas which can enhance and maybe even change the direction of their plan, but regardless, highly desirable people have direction. Because they know where their journey is going to take them, people will want to follow.

9. They are resilient.
Highly desirable people don’t get off track when things don’t go as planned. They are resilient and expect things to bring a certain amount of stress, lack of predictability and challenge. They get up and suit up, rather than getting down when they have a failure. Highly desirable people increase their levels of resiliency by analyzing why things didn’t work out as they had expected. They are committed to learning and to changing what they need to change to get to where they need to go. Giving up doesn’t exist in their vocabulary but moving forward does. Highly desirable people are attractive to others because they are survivors.

10. They live to have an impact.
Highly desirable people have a deep desire to have a positive impact on the world at large. These types of people are not self-centered, only thinking about “having” or “wanting” for themselves, alone. Highly desirable people want to be a part of changing the lives of others for the better. Many work in careers which support causes or philanthropies, where they can share their wealth, resources and knowledge. Others become professional coaches or therapists and others give more privately. No matter what path is chosen, highly desirable people see their ability to help others as their greatest gift.

Highly desirable people are successful because they build their lives from the inside out. They start with their passions, grit for hard work and the patience to hang in there when things are tough. They work from the desire to have an impact and to make a difference. They are not your superficial, narcissistic billboard of a person who works only as a shallow advertisement of success. For this reason, the highly desirable person has longevity, a supportive network of people and sustaining success, rather than short lived bursts of success built upon only a shallow image.

When I first started out as a therapist, I had the naive assumption that everyone who came to therapy ultimately wanted to be happy. I quickly came to realize that not only was this not the case, there was in fact a wide range of emotional goals, and some of them seemed almost in opposition to “obtaining” happiness. Of course, this was based on my own bias
of personally preferring happiness, and wanting other people around me to feel happier
as well.

However, just because “being happy” is a familiar feeling that I tend to gravitate towards, does not mean it is familiar or appealing to anyone else. I’ve had clients who cringe at the word “happy”, and would be more likely to choose something else entirely like: calm, excited, interested, autonomous, desirable, intimidating and many other completely different feelings besides “happy.”

Similarly, people may or may not like a person based on a number of different and individual reasons, regardless of how nice they are. Here are some common reasons below.

Why would someone not be liked even if they are “nice”?
What makes a person “nice” is completely subjective?
For example: one person’s “nice” might be another person’s clingy and annoying.
How nice a person is may not be an important factor to someone else. For example: They may prefer someone edgy, sarcastic, hip, or any other specific qualities that could appeal to another person. Unfortunately, not everyone values niceness as an important quality.

Even if a person values “niceness”, there may be other personal characteristics or behaviors that can turn someone else off. For example, if you are being nice to people, but have difficulty with other areas such as reading social cues, paying attention to timing, and other social norms, being nice may actually have the opposite effect then what is intended. For example, if a man (or a woman for that matter) on an empty subway came in and sat in the seat right next to me, knee to knee, and started talking to me about their life, even really nicely, I would find it off-putting and anxiety producing—no matter how nice they were trying to be.

Each person has their own temperament, past experiences, sensitivities, moods, etc.
Often if someone has a great personality but can’t seem to make friends, they may be in the wrong social groups. There are some groups that no matter what you do, you will never be “one of them” and it would be much more fruitful to instead work on finding the tribe that “gets” you, and feels like a more natural match for who you are.

Not fitting in in high school is one of the most common examples of being a poor fit for
a group out of no fault of one’s own, and how difficult and painful this can be. So many people have had the experience of not fitting in no matter what they did, and found that once they had more freedom to choose their own social groups (outside of high school), explore their own interests beyond what is valued in their social circles, etc., that often they became much happier and had the opportunity to surround themselves with people who valued their unique personality traits and temperament.

Many people make the incorrect assumption that either something is wrong with them if people don’t like them, or that something is wrong with the other person. Typically there are other mitigating factors that are not being taken into account that may be affecting whether or not people are drawn to someone else. This might include: what the other person looks for in a friend, any other unconscious behaviors that might work against a person, whether or not the person is a good fit for that particular group, and other reasons beyond this list. The point is, whether or not someone is attracted to another human being (regardless of sexual interest), may or may not have anything to do with how nice they are.

I’m respectful, I treat everybody with respect, so why do most people I treat with respect treat me with disrespect?
What is a person who does not show respect for other people and their feelings?

There could be many, many reasons why. First, their opinion can be biased. For example,
I once met a young teenager, who I thought was, to be frank, extremely rude. He pushed through a crowd of people during a black friday sale, shouting “Move it!” Does that mean he was really, truly, despicable?
Perhaps not. I only saw him do one odious act, but then again, almost everyone has done something like that sometime in their life. Often, this is the circumstance that occurs when forming initial opinions of people – before you, if you even do, get to know them. Or it could simply be they dislike you for a grudge.

For example, say you refused a girl to a dance for your school, etc., and the girl had a brother who found out and began hating you. Would you know he was her brother? Probably not. Do you know why he hates you?
Probably not. Then, you have that category of people who just hate you. Why?

Who knows? Oftentimes, the people that hate you have no justifiable reason for it. It could be that you fit into one of their stereotyped categories. For example, someone could have had bad experiences with a certain race or gender, and marked all people of that race or gender as bullies, in order to help themselves avoid future conflict with the same issues as they have encountered before.

Or, it simply could be they just hate you because of a “gut feeling”. The thing is, just ignore them. If you and your friends think you aren’t despicable, then you aren’t! The opinions that really, truly matter are those who are closest to you – those who have seen all aspects of you. So relax when someone insults you, because they don’t know you.

Human beings tend to find different things respectful, it could be something that they themselves lack, like really good English speaking skill, or public speaking. Or something they value, money, ability to socialize etc. What do you think the people around you find respectful ? Do you have those qualities ? Do those qualities even matter to you ?
The same goes for being despicable, in my standards as long as you are not hurting someone’s feelings or physical self, you are fine, and that is Good.
