Jeannie Gaffigan GIST Brain Tumor – Search (bing.com)
The Gaffigan family dealt with the medical crisis with some gallows humor.
How a brain tumor altered their family dynamic forever
by Lee Woodruff,
AARP
, March 12, 2020
En español
| For a couple who make their living in comedy, there was nothing remotely humorous about Jeannie Gaffigan’s diagnosis of a life-threatening pear-shaped
brain tumor
in 2017.
That stunning diagnosis in the doctor’s office was when the world stopped turning for
the hyper-organized and hugely competent mother of five and wife and writing partner of popular
comedian Jim Gaffigan
. A very scary pear-shaped bomb had just been tossed into their jam-packed lives.
“In addition to making deals with God,” says Jeannie,
“All I wanted to do was live and be a Victoria’s Secret model.”
Jeannie Gaffigan’s book
When Life Gives You Pears
is her witty and honest take on what happened when an unexpected tumor forced the couple into a
Freaky Friday
switcheroo. Suddenly Mom was the patient and Dad had to take over as caregiver and main parent-in-charge in the midst of fear, grief and uncertainty.
Or, as she says with humor, “Jim understood what it’s like to be Jeannie and Jeannie understood what it’s like to be in bed and have other people wait on you.”
HACHETTE BOOK GROUP
This book is about so many universal themes: love, family, faith and coming out the other side with a different perspective. But at its heart, Jeannie writes honestly about the issue that plagues so many mothers and caregivers, that
unrelenting pressure we put on ourselves
to do it all and do it our way.
It’s the story of how illness and bed rest forced her to confront her “demons and control freak nature” and helped the Gaffigan family “make pear-ade out of pears.”
While Jeannie lay in the hospital, she knew Jim lacked the skills to deal with the home front. “He was like, ‘What are the names of the kids’ teachers? Wait, what are the kids’ names?’” she jokes. “But he stepped up in big ways. This kind of triage changed our team-ship, and we got stronger through it.”
In any
crisis
, the unimportant things tend to fall away. During her hospitalization and complicated recovery from the removal of the benign tumor, Jeannie was incapable of running the household like a well-oiled machine. Watching Jim, her extended and immediate family and her friends handle it all made her realize that her priorities
were out of whack. “Maybe the machine didn’t need that much oil to work,” she concludes.
By doing everything for everyone, she had taken the power away from her family to do for themselves, she says. As she healed, Jeannie resolved to make a change, while simultaneously providing the scaffolding for her five children, the eldest of whom was becoming a teenager. “We were heading into the age,” Jeannie jokes, “that moms need
to constantly smell their breath for crack.”
Jeannie’s constant whirl of doing was self-imposed.
“My execution of the never-ending to-do list was not because Jim was dumping all the work on me, or the kids were lazy or no one else could do it. It gave me a false sense of fulfillment to be needed,” she explains.
“Removing the mama bear from the caregiver role helped everyone around me,
especially Jim, discover their innermost power and figure out how to make their own damned porridge,” says Jeannie. “Aside from the hospital and recovery part, the brain tumor was literally the best thing that ever happened to me.”
“I was a hugely imperfect caregiver. It’s not an easy role, social secretary, maid, cook, nurse … but honestly it was a privilege.” — Jim Gaffigan
The experience also rearranged her husband’s priorities. “Jim would tell me over and
over that the only thing that mattered was that I get better,” Jeannie says. But she had an additional worry: There was so much pressure on his shoulders that he was “decidedly not funny.” She felt guilty, worrying that her brain tumor and Jim’s need to take on more might permanently change him in negative ways.
“Jim loves his career, and part of the reason our marriage and family works are that he’s able to stand on a stage and make people laugh. That is literally his therapy,” Jeannie says.
Jim’s eyes were opened to the quiet army of people who minister to loved ones every day. “I was a
hugely imperfect caregiver
,” he says. “It’s not an easy role, social secretary, maid, cook, nurse … but honestly it was a privilege. It made me realize how many people are toiling quietly and how few share their absolute fears or how they stayed sane. I worried constantly about how she would come out the other end, if she ever came back.”
How did the experience change Jim? “I gained insight and compassion. I’m a nerd who is interested in different cultures and experiences, but the caregiving role makes people more human. Being forced into another role brought me back and focused me on the home.”
In the wake of the tumor, Jeannie has found ways to cultivate the generosity shown to her by the community. Doing ambitious service projects with the kids was part of her “bargain with God” before she could even walk. She was determined that her children stay close to the importance of giving back. She founded
the Imagine Society
, a nonprofit that connects youth-led service projects.
“I’m thankful for this new perspective,” says Jeannie, who is in good health and back to her crazy-busy life, now including frequent medical checkups. “If the pear fruit is indeed a metaphor for life, my old life was a rock-hard pear that cut well with nice sharp angles, but the flavor was lacking. Now it’s a misshapen, overripe pear that mushes under the knife. But the juice is the sweetest thing you’ll ever taste.”
So, what’s her best advice for anyone out there who gets thrown a pear-shaped curveball?
Spend more quality time with your loved ones.
Spread goodness.
Execute numbers 1 and 2 without getting a brain tumor.
And in an apt metaphor of how life has returned to normal in the Gaffigan household, Jeannie describes Jim’s habit of discarding his socks everywhere: “Even now, when I’m literally crawling under his desk to pick up his socks, I start to get mad and then I remember what he did for me. Every marriage should undergo a switcheroo, maybe just not with the brain tumor part.”
Jim Gaffigan’s Wife Jeannie on Discovering She Had a Brain Tumor the Size of an Apple: ‘I Was a Ticking Time Bomb’
Jeannie Gaffigan Brain Tumor Symptoms She Explained Away (moms.com)
For months, Jeannie Gaffigan brushed off her recurring headaches, dizziness and coughing fits, blaming the symptoms as byproducts of life as a working mom of five.
It wasn’t until she began to lose her hearing, however, that Jeannie – the wife of
comedian and actor
Jim Gaffigan
– decided to push for answers, ultimately learning the unimaginable: she had
a tumor
the size of an apple wrapped around her brain stem.
“I was a ticking time bomb, waiting to be paralyzed,” Jeannie, 47, says in this week’s issue of PEOPLE.
It was a benign papilloma of the choroid plexus that had likely been growing for over a year, says her surgeon,
Dr. Joshua Bederson
, Professor and System Chair Department of Neurosurgery at The Mount Sinai Health System in New York City.
“All function of the brain passes through the brainstem and out into the body,”
Bederson explains. “And her brain stem was compressed.”
Jeannie and Jim, 50, say a “miracle” led them to Bederson.
After their initial shock wore off, the couple mobilized, reaching out to friends and family, who suggested they turn to the neurosurgery team at Mount Sinai.
“We found the top guy,” says Jeannie. “But we had no expectation that we could get him.”
The couple planned to walk into the hospital’s emergency room with their scans in hand, but through connections were able to meet immediately with Bederson, whose scheduled operation had – in a twist of fate – been delayed.
On April 18, Jeannie went into surgery, which took over nine hours and involved
cutting-edge virtual and augmented reality technology
.
It was ultimately a success.
“We were prepped for the understanding that good news would be like,
‘We got 85 percent of it,’ says Jim. “But they removed all the tumor, and
there was no damage to her 12 cranial nerves.”
As long as there’s no residual tumor found at Jeannie’s three-month,
post-operative MRI, Bederson says, “she should be cured.”
Unfortunately, recovery hasn’t been easy. Jeannie battled aspiration pneumonia before returning home, where she’s now recuperating with a temporary tracheotomy and feeding tube in place.
“The progress has been pretty amazing, but we’re far from normal,” admits Jim.
Still, the pair say the entire ordeal has reaffirmed their faith and helped them understand the importance of compassion.
“My whole life has changed,” says Jeannie. “The people who have come out of this have shown me how loved I am.”
Adds Jim of the response from friends, family – and fans, “People are so generous,
it’s really made me believe that there’s hope for humanity.”
The couple praises all of the physicians and doctors who helped them – including Bederson, Dr. David Godin, Dr. Pamela Hops and PA Leslie Schlachter – and say
they hope others will learn to prioritize their personal health.
Says Jeannie, “I want to help people get through the worst news that you can get.”

Increase Your Life Expectancy

How to Increase Your Life Expectancy 12 to 14 years – YouTube
Well, there are no studies to suggest 100% is actually necessary. I eat about 95% plant based with local meat and locally caught fish a few times a month. People in Blue Zones eat meat 4 to 5 times a month as well as products like goat milk and cheese.
They just eat small portions on the side of their dish, not slabs of 10oz steaks and huge portions as in the US for example. Plus, it’s all local produce, some from their own animals and gardens. Big difference. There’s more to longevity than diet also-low stress, strong social connections, having a purpose in getting up each day etc.
George Burns on his 100th birthday speech
with a typical cigar and martini in hand said
at the podium to the audience, “If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself.”
There are many different factors for someone’s age and health. Food is just one of them, most of the time it gets way too much attention. There is no secret food or drink for longevity. Actually, with the right set of genes. You can smoke, drink alcohol and eat trash every day and still get to age 100 healthy.
This has already been proven and seen many times. Don’t look too deep into food unless it’s ethical. As long as it’s not ultra-processed but nutrient dense the body can utilize it. Or are you stuffing your body with harmful chemicals, preservatives, pesticides, and GMO’S
Food matters so very much IMPORTANT. Are you eating ORGANIC???
Look up the concept of
Expected Value of Life Expectancy – Search (bing.com)
That is like saying smoking cigarettes a few times a month if fine, or 1oz of vodka each day. Yes, you’re healthier than most people and similarly to vegans being 95% plant based, but you’re still consuming meat. Just like tobacco, alcohol, any amount of meat is bad for your health in several ways. Of course, in the grand scheme it’s not a big deal for you, but I just don’t see the point if you’re already 90%+ plant based. Just like I see no reason in smoking a cigarette a week.
That’s just me though….
Depends what kind of meat. I eat small amounts a few times a month, no more.
Why? Because Irish beef and mountain lamb is among the best and tastiest in the world, as is wild caught salmon, mackerel, sole, and shellfish like class A mussels from a few miles along the coast. I wouldn’t touch US produced meat of any kind if you paid me,
I heard too much about it and how adulterated it is. Big difference, so not all meat is the same and many of these studies on the poor health outcomes of meat are based on US consumption.
My locally produced meat and fish are not in your wildest dreams compared to smoking or drinking vodka. Though I’ve seen 90 Yr. Olds in Ikaria smoking daily, so there’s a whole lot more to longevity than just diet anyway. A 100% vegan diet is almost useless if you have no work life balance or social/community support and are stressed as hell, or a workaholic that doesn’t have any time off to enjoy life.
Gonna wait for your video
“Why I’m No Longer Vegan”.
I don’t proselytize to my friends and family, since I don’t want them to avoid me.
I try to lead by example, and hope they ask me when they are ready. On the other hand,
I do spend a lot of time educating and advocating for veganism in social media like these YouTube comment sections, and Reddit.
I love that it just highlights the
Nine basic principles of longevity
just from the very beginning –
️ and then I think it can be very
inspiring when somebody is really good at something. You can be seduced to love
Latin if the teacher is really interested in the subject – and I do think it is a bit strange
to talk about physical training and ten look as if you always
Just study at the desk … but of course to be able to relax and go with the flow can be
very charming
I guess it depends largely on how your portrait yourself as a health practitioner when trying to be a role model by doing all the healthy stuff. If you’re shaming people for not living up to your standards or giving off a sort of condescending vibe, they will feel demoralized and have resistance to your preaching. If you, on the other hand, just live a healthy life and encourage them with detailed information, tips and tricks and meet them where they are at the moment, then I think being a role model and living what you preach is an enormous advantage.
I’d love to see the numbers from the study cited at
0:26
for those eating a whole-food vegan diet rather than just “healthy dietary principles.” I suspect that the data would be even much better and more statistically significant than what was reported in that study. Sure, if you reject Fisher’s method of significance testing, but we can stick with N-P hypothesis testing if you prefer.
So rather than quibbling terms, why don’t we try to resolve the heart of my statement?
The heart of your statement is the fact that these types of studies can tell us nothing about the cause of anything. At best they can only show associations and associations alone can never prove cause. There is not enough control in these studies to isolate any factor such as diet.
Plus, even if a correlation is statistically significant it doesn’t mean that it is of any use to anybody. We can never do the type of studies that would be required to prove anything about human nutrition, so all these studies are just a waste of time really.
Sure, if they came up with a correlation of something in the order of several hundred percent, such as we see in studies on smoking, then maybe there is something there worthwhile pursuing but that is never the case. Are you assuming that a vegan diet is better for you than a fully carnivore diet?
Where is there any evidence to suggest that?
1. The heart of my statement conveys the supposition that a similarly conducted study which tested a whole-food vegan diet would yield results which account for a p-value lower than the one seen in this study.
2. I am presently convinced humans are physiologically best suited to eat a whole-food vegan diet with supplementation, as needed (for example: vitamin B12). So yes, I am inclined to agree that a whole-food vegan diet is “better” for human health than a fully carnivore diet. The evidence which supports my view is documented and scattered throughout the peer-reviewed literature. But I’m open-minded, so if you’d like to lock horns on the matter, I’d be delighted to entertain your ideas and supporting evidence.
Like with most viruses, no amount of healthful eating is going to be a 100% guarantee against catching mononucleosis, I’m afraid. It’s no joke, I know. I had a somewhat severe case of it long ago. I could barely move, swallow or think straight for well over a season, among other issues, missing most of my first semester of 12th grade, when I ate decently, but far from plant based. (That would not happen for another few years.) If the Internet had been such a thing, then as it is now, I’d have not had the energy to post. I was one of the lucky ones. A 15-year-old in my school had died from it a year before I got it.
Hi, Weronika
Kryn
icki
I am sorry that you are experiencing mononucleosis.
While plant-based diets can enhance immunity, they cannot prevent all infectious diseases. Plant-based whole foods rich in zinc, vitamin C and beta glucans may help.
You can find everything on our site related to immune function here:

I’ve been fasting periodically for 5 years, and I love how it makes everything work perfectly, and makes you look like a teen. While I think that it is a truly working miracle cure for nearly all internal imbalances, be it hormonal or even cancers, lifespan extension etc., but when it comes to war with foreign invaders, it doesn’t work that well 🙁
In the past I had minor cuts infected twice during fasting, (when eating normally my wounds heal well), which suggests lowered immunity.
Some research papers also sadly suggest that this virus thrives on autophagy, exploiting our healthful pathways. I fasted for 18 days after mono diagnosis, symptoms disappeared but when I returned to a clean WFPB diet, symptoms returned – maybe during fasting my body stopped fighting the thing and this virus just was silently replicating the way it does initially after contracting… So basically in my experience fasting cures everything inside the body, but when it comes to foreign microbes, things don’t follow the same pattern 🙁
I’m so glad to be vegan and eating primarily a Whole-Foods Plant-Based Diet (WFPBD), those extra years can be used for the greater good to spread the words of veganism to those unaware of the harm they are causing by eating meat/dairy/honey, wearing cashmere/ leather/silk/wool, using unnecessary animal tested products or even simply just by visiting aquariums, circuses or zoos. Not only that but it means I can also see more of the world and have more time to pick up new hobbies or to learn another language. ~
April Walford
Very interesting, great, video …. important points. Vegetarians are sometimes annoying,
at least to me, because in general they have the right idea, but the proof is in the pudding, and people just claiming to be vegetarian but who often have some pretty bad habits themselves act like they are on the winning vegetarian team.
I am all for vegetarians, but I also think that lightly eating a bit of meat, say the equivalent of the meat on a pizza, or the meat in vegetable fried rice, to get a little of the nutrients of meat and not eating a huge steak every day or many of the other obviously unhealthy things carnivores do, fast food, etc,
I have not seen any studies that significantly prove that – let me put it this way – there is not a lower limit to meat eating that is just as or almost equivalently safe to eating vegan.
I also think there is a lot going on that people who do these studies from both sides do not talk about, for instance the effects on the meat we do eat of what we feed the animals, or how they are “processed”.
Avoid Excess sugar, iodized salt, deep fried items especially meat, milk from genetically modified animals, food coloring, chlorinated water etc. Are causes of ill health apart from sedentary lifestyle, smoking and alcohol. Inner peace & tranquility are important.
Better to be vegan. We are still in the dark ages, with so my main points that we have to keep in mind. Not only soybean oil, all chemically processed oils trigger inflammation. Coconut oil, groundnut oil and olive oil are good.
Lifestyle habits to increase your life expectancy | hypnosishealthinfo.com
Moderation is the key word.
I’m mostly vegan although I eat small amounts of fish and one egg a day. I do intermittent fasting (18/6) everyday. I cut out sugar and all refined grains (rice, bread and pasta) although I eat small amounts of whole food tubers such as sweet potatoes, yams and taro roots. I walk 4 miles a day. My A1c is 5.3, my blood pressure is 100/60, my triglyceride is 64, my HDL is 92. My BMI is 24. I’m over 60 years old. I do not need prescription medications. As experts said, you control your lifespan 70% of the time, your genes and God controls 30%. I take full advantage of the 70% controlling power.
What Separates the Longest lived in Hong Kong from those not – Search (bing.com)
According to Google,
the people in Hong Kong enjoy the longest life expectancy @ 85.3 years
Hong Kongers also eat one of the highest amounts of meat in the world @ 660 g
(24 ounces) per person per day. Nothing beats beef…Are you saying that these statistics are based on a small group of people that live on rice, greens and stinky tofu?
I’ve lived and worked in HK for two years and greens come with meat or fish with a
small bowl of white rice. A variety of foods are eaten including tofu, greens, fruits and mushrooms. The far majority however eat this with lots of meat or seafood.
The last meal I had in HK was chicken and vegetables, when I ordered green beans,
they automatically came with beef.
I don’t know how severe your case is, but I’m inclined to think that
your WFPB lifestyle may have saved you from worse and will certainly aid your recovery.
We are still in the dark ages, so my main point would be that we have to keep that in mind.
I actually had to look around a bit, so here’s what I found by way of recommendations: Lots of water, ginger tea, decaf green mint tea and throat soother tea, sipped if your throat is still swollen. Vitamin C, Zinc and Magnesium rich foods as well as you can eat them (i.e., collards and dark kale, cut ahead of time then steamed if swallowing is an issue), berries, tofu for protein and iron (tofu scrambles, even?).
Extra Vitamin D, as it’s still winter and you’re probably inside a lot right now. Soothing vegetable soups are definitely good, but keep them on the veggie side and chop them finely if, again, swallowing is a problem. Steer clear of sugars, fats and starchy carbs (bread, rice, white potatoes, &c.) for now, as they can trigger your symptoms. Eat small meals throughout the day instead of three larger ones to keep your blood sugar steadier.
I hope that is helpful, and that you are better soon!
NYC investor Irving Kahn who lived to age 109
– thought his long life was due to a decent diet and a love of his work. It turns out his 3 siblings all lived past the age of 100 including 1 sister who thought a fun life was drinking, smoking and going to parties and eating rich food. A researcher found out they had genetics of a higher than average HDL cholesterol level and a slightly elevated TSH or what would be a slightly underactive thyroid.
Love is a vital nutrient – Search (bing.com)
I think the part about people being demotivated because they feel judged by those who have achieved a healthy state speaks more to the current state of emotional insanity and extreme narcissism that our civilization is currently in, than anything else. I think that is
a separate condition that also needs to be addressed just as urgently. Some of us wish to make the most out of our time on this Plane of existence. It shows what the researcher
Nir Barzilai
– found out when looking at the genetics of centenarians.
Very interesting the latter finding on human responses to excellence.
People not doing so well can become resentful of those doing it better, or read it that way. Not a valid response but human, nevertheless. If we are to influence others an attitude of collaboration rather than preaching is more effective. The conflictual milieu about diet also engenders tribalism and “better than” front-offs. I never smoked, was never overweight (let alone obese), eat no processed sugar, and eat a diet dominant in whole plant foods (maybe 3-5% animal foods tops, and no processed foods). But the one thing that I just can’t seem to get into the habit of is exercise. Mainly because I appear to be in good shape without exercise, so I don’t find myself able to do it. But my exercise level beyond the walking of day-to-day life is almost zero.
We do not suggest looking for supplements to decrease
glycosaminoglycans.
Your best bet is to avoid consuming them. Check out the Daily Dozen here:

What I want is not to increase my life expectancy but to not spend many years
sick before I die. Why would someone want to increase their life expectancy?
Absolutely stupid to do that.
You forgot to mention the recent
Norwegian Life Expectancy study!!
I really love the video from
Greger’s lecture How not to die.
He talks about chronic disease and when camera turns to the audience, you can see thousands of people, who are either obese, or morbidly obese. No one with a healthy weight. Sure, that was a lecture in the USA.
Humans are soooo weird
Yes, we as humans are constantly threatened by people who are better than us yet extremely addicted to watching them.
A calm and positive mindset is probably way more important since this affects everything.
“It’s never too late”? Not so. Live like there’s no tomorrow and there won’t be.
You can’t wait till your 66 to adopt these principles and expect to realize the outcomes his research shows. Like renouncing God your whole life then telling yourself you found Jesus in your last 30 seconds on earth. Don’t count on the Pearly Gate to be open when you arrive.

When Hypocrisy overcomes Truth, Justice is Thwarted.
Mind Wandering:
My conscious awareness is expanding and with it my views will change.
When people allow their thoughts to wander, I imagine this event as follows.
Let’s say that the thought is like a flash, which is where the word “the thought flash” comes from. it is suddenly there, clear and bright as an Enlightenment In our evening sky, the dark knight, it is illuminated by many small thoughts. As the stars make it happen for us every night… When we plant a thought in our mind, it is a great, enormous, shining star.
If man’s soul, in his mind. is kept pure, then man will seek that positive thought over and over, again and again. Because man has focused this thought, but as soon as man lets his mind wander, the shape of the star also changes. He’s trailing a tale, like a fairy tale. Thus, with each infiltration of a negative thought, the main thought breaks apart. Piece by piece the dream bursts and the rest of what we see, the idea created by this perfect thought, people call “the shooting star”.
Sternschnuppe zeichnen – Sterne malen – How to draw a Star – YouTube
In German the word shooting star means
STERNSCHNUPPE,
and when a German says: I don’t care about, they say:
Es ist mir Schnuppe.
But I do care about the stars, they show me the way back to our origin, the middle, the center, our heart, the MASTER CELL. the God within us, ALL. I feel humanity sure needs to rise through knowledge but instead of using the voice of the heart, they teach us to think only with our brain. And they try to kill our consciousness of fulfilling our dreams.
Now that mother earth is ready for Big Change we should all come together within ONE CONSCIOUSNESS. I AM NOT ANGRY anymore if others copy me or take my words or flip them to they’re point of views. Because I serve only on GODS Wave and that is the point where we all should arrive together. Our connection is one of a enormes tail that is making a MASTER WEB on our planet and once that all important points on earth are connected with the “almost same thought.”

There is a spotlight shining on the evidence that Jan. 6, 2021 was a set up by the DC swamp leaders to entrap Trump and his supporters in a net they call ‘insurrection.’
The fact is, the plans for that setup began long before 2021. Conspiracy Facts In late 2012, Obama, acting as president, signed a National Defense bill #HR 4310. Unbeknownst to the general public, this bill had a section that legalized propaganda’s use to sway American opinion, all for their good, of course. This is known as Section 1078:..tap on image above for the rest of the story.

from former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate during a raid on Monday.
According to reports, agents recovered 11 sets of documents that were marked as classified, including some that were labeled “Top Secret.”
That said, Trump noted on his Truth Social platform on Friday that he, as president,
had already declassified the documents that were confiscated by agents.

Farmers harvest corn under wind turbines in Massena, Iowa. Tax credits provided by the new law are expected to promote a dramatic expansion of renewable energy in the U.S.
By the time Thomas Edison built the country’s first coal-fired electric generating station
in New York City in 1882, the sooty black combustible rock also was already on its way to becoming the nation’s top energy source. Coal lit lanterns and cook stoves, powered ships and trains, fueled iron and steel production. It would go on to reshape the continent, lighting homes and industries from Fairbanks to Florida. By the 1980s, more than half of all U.S. electricity would come from burning the energy-rich—and planet-warming—fossil fuel.
Now the country is finally preparing to move on.
Thanks to the climate section of the new Inflation Reduction Act, which the U.S. House of Representatives passed on August 12, coal burning, already in decline, may generate as little as 9.7 percent of all U.S. electricity by 2030, just eight years from now, according to an
independent analysis
. That would mark a 75 percent drop in coal use since 2010. Natural gas use, which had been rising, could also drop 28 percent.
In fact, this new legislation is expected to speed the transition to clean technology so much that non-polluting energy—solar, wind, nuclear power, geothermal energy, hydropower—could supply up to 81 percent of the country’s electricity by the end of this decade,
another review
finds.
Decades after scientists began warning with increasing alarm that burning fossil fuels
was dangerously heating the planet, a $369 billion response finally squeaked through the U.S. Congress and is headed to the president’s desk. It is the biggest, most transformative climate measure in U.S. history. It should signal, experts argue, the dawn of a new era.
“This is the most consequential piece of U.S. legislation for the climate ever,” says Richard Newell, chief executive of
Resources for the Future
, a nonprofit energy research organization.
Three
independent groups
of researchers, using
separate computer models
,
agree the act
could help reduce U.S. fossil fuel emissions up to 41 or 42 percent below 2005 levels by 2030. That’s if President Joe Biden takes no further executive action to reduce emissions, and if states don’t increase their own clean-energy ambitions—yet analysts expect both those things to occur.
The new act alone is not enough to meet the target Biden set of reducing emissions by half by 2030. It’s less ambitious than his “Build Back Better” proposals, which died in the U.S. Senate. But it still provides 80 percent of the cumulative emissions cuts found in those earlier measures.
U.S. emissions were already declining. But thanks to the new law, by 2030 the U.S. can expect to emit roughly a billion tons less greenhouse gases each year than it otherwise would have, according to the independent researchers. As a side effect, there will be less soot coming out of smokestacks and tailpipes as well—and that reduced air pollution will prevent more than 3,500 premature deaths a year,
according to one analysis
.
The new act is “historic, transformative, imperfect,” the result of lengthy negotiation
and compromise, says Sam Ricketts, a former climate policy adviser to Washington Gov. Jay Inslee’s short-lived presidential campaign. Ricketts, co-founder of Evergreen Action, worked behind the scenes to help craft the proposals.
“It is a catalyzing moment,” he adds, “but we have more work to do.”
How the new climate law works
The new act is so big and came together so quickly that experts are still trying to understand how the pieces will interact to reconfigure our energy landscape. Unlike previous failed efforts, the legislation relies primarily on incentives to support clean energy and spur innovation, rather than on penalties to deter the use of fossil fuels. It is largely paid for with a 15 percent minimum tax on corporations.
It
subsidizes purchases
of electric cars, low-energy appliances, and solar panels, and helps cash-strapped families retrofit homes with heat pumps and electric water heaters. It provides tens of billions of dollars in incentives for manufacturing and deployment of wind turbines, solar modules, batteries, and electric vehicles, and gives tens of billions of dollars to states and utilities to hasten the transition to clean energy.
It focuses on disadvantaged communities through direct grant programs and by setting aside money to clean up ports and heavy industry. It pumps billions into soil enrichment programs and other efforts to promote climate-friendly agriculture, and dramatically boosts tax credits for efforts to capture and store carbon-dioxide from industries or to slurp it from the skies. It funds grant programs to create greener jet fuel.

43 per cent emission reduction by 2030 outlined in the climate bill set to pass lower house. – Search (bing.com)
Combined with last year’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, which set aside billions of dollars to upgrade the nation’s electric grid, the Inflation Reduction Act amounts to the greatest infusion of government cash for energy programs since the Manhattan Project.
The bill is expected to transform the electricity sector most quickly, driving adoption of more solar and wind, but also helping keep nuclear plants in operation. Jesse Jenkins, a climate expert at Princeton University who led one of the independent efforts to forecast the bill’s impacts,
projects
that the act could prompt emissions reductions of 360 million metric tons a year from electricity generation by 2030.
But he and other analysts also see it setting the stage for a larger and harder transition in transportation, which since 2016 has been the greatest source of U.S. emissions. Across all transport segments—from delivery vehicles and heavy freight trucks to passenger cars—the legislation could reduce emissions by 280 million metric tons, according to the analysis by Jenkins and his colleagues. That would be the equivalent of getting 60 million gasoline-powered cars off the road. Meanwhile, Rhodium Group, another independent research organization, projects that electric vehicles could account for as much as 57 percent of all vehicle sales in the U.S. by 2030. While supply chain bottlenecks could also cause growth to fall far short of that number, Rhodium researchers expect EV growth will eventually escalate and spill over into other countries.
How a U.S. law could affect the world
In fact, many elements of the new law are expected to tilt the political and economic landscape globally toward cleaner power and fuels. After decades of promises, these actions should make it easier for the United States to push other countries to follow suit. (The U.S. today accounts for 15 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, second to China, but its cumulative historical emissions are greater than any other countries.)
By further driving down prices for renewables and clean technologies,
the act also is likely to make it cheaper for businesses everywhere to adopt them.
For example, the price of solar has plummeted 99 percent since the 1970s, after countries like Germany invested heavily in the technology. That change in cost has probably had a far greater impact on global emissions reductions than the actual installation of solar did for Germany’s emissions.
“The transition is already under way, but what the bill does is basically turbo charge the shift,” Jenkins says.
“Businesses that understood the arc of history knew we were going in this direction eventually,” he adds, “But it’s very hard to plan a multinational business when you have half of the states moving very clearly and half of states and the federal government out to lunch. For the first time, we’ve got the financial might of the federal government supporting all the major climate tools.”
After years of stalled efforts to make progress, “it’s hard to find the words to describe just how important this all is,” says Leah Stokes, a political scientist and climate policy expert at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Yet to appreciate the importance, many Americans need only look out the window or read the news.
How the law meets the moment
The vote came near the end of an unnerving summer when record-breaking fires raged across Europe and threatened 1,800-year-old sequoias in Yosemite National Park. Thousand-year floods closed northern Yellowstone, killed dozens in Kentucky and Missouri, and stranded tourists in Death Canyon National Park—where people expect to worry about heat stroke, not drowning. Pakistan and India, on the other hand, endured a lengthy, lethal heat wave that scientists said was made 30 times more likely by climate change. And Great Britain hit 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) for the first time ever.
Big climate bill: Spending green bucks to spur green energy
By Seth Borenstein, Matthew Daly and Michael Phillis () The Associated Press
WASHINGTON – After decades of inaction in the face of escalating natural disasters and sustained global warming, Congress hopes to make clean energy so cheap in all aspects of life that it’s nearly irresistible. The House is poised to pass a transformative bill Friday that would provide the most spending to fight climate change by any one nation ever in a single push.
Friday’s anticipated action comes 34 years after a top scientist grabbed headlines warning Congress about the dangers of global warming. In the decades since, there have been 308 weather disasters that have each cost the nation at least $1 billion, the record for the hottest year has been broken 10 times and wildfires have burned an area larger than Texas.
The crux of the long-delayed bill, singularly pushed by Democrats in a closely divided Congress, is to use incentives to spur investors to accelerate the expansion of clean energy such as wind and solar power, speeding the transition away from the oil, coal and gas that largely cause climate change.
The United States has put the most heat-trapping gases into the air, burning more inexpensive dirty fuels than any other country. But the nearly $375 billion in climate incentives in the Inflation Reduction Act are designed to make the already plummeting costs of renewable energy substantially lower at home, on the highways and in the factory. Together these could help shrink U.S. carbon emissions by about two-fifths by 2030 and should chop emissions from electricity by as much as 80%.
Experts say it isn’t enough, but it’s a big start.
“This legislation is a true game-changer. It will create jobs, lower costs, increase U.S. competitiveness, reduce air pollution,” said former Vice President Al Gore, who held his first global warming hearing 40 years ago. “The momentum that will come out of this legislation, cannot be underestimated. “
The U.S. action could spur other nations to do more — especially China and India, the two largest carbon emitters along with the U.S. That in turn could lower prices for renewable energy globally, experts said.
Because of the specific legislative process in which this compromise was formed, which limits it to budget-related actions, the bill does not regulate greenhouse gas emissions, but deals mainly in spending, most of it through tax credits as well as rebates to industry, consumers and utilities.
Investments work better at fostering clean energy than regulations, said Leah Stokes, an environmental policy professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara. The climate bill is likely to spur billions in private investment, she said: “That’s what’s going to be so transformative.”
The bill promotes vital technologies such as battery storage. Clean energy manufacturing gets a big boost. It will be cheaper for consumers to make climate-friendly purchasing decisions. There are tax credits to make electric cars more affordable, help for low-income people making energy-efficiency upgrades and incentives for rooftop solar and heat pumps. There are also incentives for nuclear power and projects that aim to capture and remove carbon from the atmosphere.
The bill moves to ensure that poor and minority communities that have borne the brunt of pollution benefit from climate spending. Farmers will receive help switching to climate-friendly practices and there’s money for energy research and to encourage electric heavy-duty trucks in place of diesel.
The Superfund program, used to pay for cleanup of the nation’s most heavily polluted industrial sites, will receive more revenue from a bigger tax on oil.
The Rhodium Group research firm estimates the bill would dramatically change the arc of future U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, cutting them by 31% to 44% in 2030, compared to what had been shaping up to be 24% to 35% since 2005 without the bill, said Rhodium partner John Larsen. Clean power on the grid, an upcoming Rhodium report says, would jump from under 40% now to between 60% and 81% by 2030, he said.
“It’s not as big as I want, but it’s also bigger than anything we’ve ever done, ″ said Sen. Brian Schatz, a Hawaii Democrat who leads the Senate climate caucus. “A 40% emissions reduction is nothing the U.S. has ever come close to before. ″
As decisive a change as it is for U.S. policy and emissions, it still does not reach the official U.S. goal of cutting carbon pollution roughly in half by 2030 to achieve net-zero carbon emissions across the economy by 2050.
Not everyone is impressed.
“This law is big for the U.S. but in global terms long overdue,” said Niklas Hohne,
co-founder of the New Climate Institute in Germany. “The U.S. has a long way to
go on climate change and is starting from a very, very high emission level.”
When U.S. historic carbon emissions are factored in, U.S. spending still lags behind Italy, France, South Korea, Japan and Canada, according to Brian O’Callaghan, lead researcher at the Oxford Economic Recovery Project at the University of Oxford. He noted the bill has nothing to fulfill America’s broken promise of billions of dollars in climate aid for poor nations.
President Joe Biden has frequently said America is back in the fight against climate change, but other leaders have been skeptical with no legislation to back his claim.
And there may be disappointment. Americans hoping to buy an electric car may find many models ineligible for rebates until more components are made in the U.S. Local fights over siting new renewable energy projects could also hamper the pace of the buildout, some experts said. Environmental justice communities are concerned they’ll be asked to accept new carbon capture projects.
Republicans, who unanimously opposed the bill in the Senate, say it would add to consumers’ energy costs, with House GOP Whip Steve Scalise claiming it “wastes billions of dollars in Green New Deal slush funds.”
Rhodium’s Larsen, who crunched the numbers in the bill, said it would lead to consumers paying up to $112 less a year in energy costs.
“As long as I’ve been in this game, progress on climate has always been higher costs for consumers. That’s not how this bill works,” Larsen said in an interview.
The Democrats didn’t have a vote to spare in the evenly divided Senate and
Sen. Joe Manchin, a conservative Democrat from coal-producing West Virginia, had long dashed hopes of an ambitious deal. But two weeks ago, faced with public shaming by environmental groups and sharp criticism even from his own colleagues, he stunned Washington by announcing his support for a bill that reduces drug costs, targets inflation and boosts renewables. Since the deal was announced July 27, Manchin has been an avid cheerleader for its passage. Sen. Krysten Sinema, D-Arizona, provided the vital 50th vote, allowing Vice President Kamala Harris to break the Senate tie.
The result is a 755-page bill that spends money without directly taking on fossil fuels, a disappointment to many on the left. Gore said the fossil fuel industry ran a decades-long “deeply unethical campaign to deceive people around the world,” casting doubt on climate change science.
The industry will face higher royalties and new fees for certain excess methane emissions, a potent greenhouse gas — a rare stick amid carrots. But the fossil fuel industry will remain a powerful force and have guaranteed opportunities to expand on federal lands and off the coast before renewables can be built in those places.
Nevertheless, “the undeniable outcome of this will be a real expansion of wind and solar,” said Harrison Fell, a professor focused on energy policy at North Carolina State University.
In 1988 on a steamy summer day, top NASA climate scientist Jim Hansen brought to public attention for the first time the decades-old concept of global warming when he told Congress carbon dioxide was heating up the Earth. That year became the hottest on record. Now, there have been so many hot years it ranks 28th hottest and Hansen has said he wishes his warnings didn’t come true about climate change.
“It’s a mark of shame that it took this long for our political system to react,”
said Bill McKibben, a long-time climate activist, adding that it leaves the fossil fuel industry with too much power. “But this will help catalyze action elsewhere in the world; it’s a declaration that hydrocarbons are finally in decline and clean energy ascendant, and that the climate movement is finally at least something of a match for Big Oil.”

The iconic baseball diamond from
Field of Dreams
is not only a real place, but it also has quite the history. The beloved 1989 baseball movie has remained a classic of American cinema and continues to emotionally resonate with audiences beyond baseball and general sports fans. Over the last three decades, the titular field from the movie has become every bit as iconic and important as the film itself.
Field of Dreams
tells the heartwarming tale of Iowa corn farmer
Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner)
who lives with his family in an isolated farmhouse surrounded by a cornfield. When a ghostly voice from the field tells Ray to plow his crops and build a baseball field, Ray feels compelled to comply. Once complete, the field plays host to an ethereal baseball team made up of White Sox players who were ousted from the team in 1919 following a scandal. As Ray continues to heed the seemingly random requests of the ghostly voice, all the pieces begin to fall together, leading Ray to finally understand the meaning of these ghostly words: “
If you build it, he will come
.”
In the years following its release, Field of Dreams has come to symbolize the spirit of baseball to many viewers. The concept of putting aside life’s difficulties for a few hours
to enjoy America’s definitive sport has perhaps never been as perfectly and emotionally captured as it is in Field of Dreams, and the movie’s magic would ultimately end up leaping off the screen and into the real world thanks to the field itself.
Is Field of Dreams a True Story? Is the Movie Based on Real MLB Player?
Today, baseball fans can still visit the actual cornfield where the film was shot, and watch (or play) a game on the very same baseball field. The Iowa scenes for Field of Dreams were shot across two neighboring locations: a cornfield/house owned by farmer
Don Lansing,
and a cornfield next to Lansing’s, which was owned by
Al Ameskamp.
The iconic baseball diamond was constructed across both properties, with most of the turf falling on Lansing’s side. Both farms are located in Dyersville, Iowa, and following filming, the field was left behind by Universal Pictures to be dealt with at the discretion of the property owners. While Ameskamp allowed his crops to reclaim part of the set, Lansing turned his property into a tourist attraction, allowing any visitors to see the house and his portion of the baseball field for free. In 2007, Ameskamp sold his property to Lansing, giving him complete ownership of the field.
By 2009, the “Field of Dreams” site hosted a yearly visitor count of 65,000 people.
The site was sold in 2011, and its new owners transformed the area into a full Field of Dreams experience, including off-site lodging, guided tours, and baseball-themed souvenirs.
The location would make headlines in August 2021, when an official MLB game would be hosted on a second, larger baseball field temporarily constructed near the original field. The game, originally scheduled for 2020 and featuring a match between the Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees, was introduced by Kevin Costner himself. It was a significant moment for fans of the movie; not only was the site now an official part of MLB history, but the ghostly prophecy spoken to Costner in the original film had come true in the real world. Universal may have simply built a movie set, but lovers of baseball, classic Americana, and Field of Dreams have been coming to feel its magic for themselves ever since.

Where Was Field of Dreams Filmed? Does the Field Exist?
Synopsis:
Nick Lodolo, Reds excited for Field of Dreams game (yahoo.com)
Ray Kinsella (Kevin Costner) is a novice farmer who lives in rural Iowa with his wife, Annie (Amy Madigan), and their young daughter Karin (Gaby Hoffmann). Ray’s deceased father, John Kinsella (Dwier Brown) loved baseball, the Chicago White Sox, and Shoeless Joe Jackson (Ray Liotta), who was banned from baseball for his part in throwing the 1919 World Series during the so-called 1919 Black Sox scandal. His father, though, seemed “worn down” by life.
While walking through the cornfield, Ray hears a voice whisper, “If you build it, he will come.” He imagines a baseball field in his cornfield. Annie is skeptical but she tells him to follow his vision. He works on the field for the next couple of days, hoping to find out what will happen. Neighbors stop along the road to watch and heckle as he plows under the corn. He waits all year to see whatever happens. Nothing happens, leaving a dejected Ray. One night the next summer, several deceased ballplayers from the 1919 team began practicing and playing on the field. Soon after, Ray is told by his brother-in-law that unless he gets rid of the baseball field and returns it to farmland, he will go bankrupt.
Ray hears the voice again, which prompts him to contact 1960s author Terence Mann (James Earl Jones), who had once written about the golden days of baseball.
He wrote that as a child he dreamed of playing for the Dodgers on Ebbets Field.
He goes to Boston to find Terence and bring him to a Red Sox game, which he envisioned in a dream one night. At the game, Ray sees a message on the scoreboard telling him to find a 1920s ballplayer named Archibald “Moonlight” Graham.
Ray and Terence travel to Chisholm, Minnesota, Moonlight’s hometown, to find him.
The first place they check is the office of the local paper, but one of the researchers there tells them that Moonlight Graham has been dead since 1972. A confused Terence and Ray return to their motel room, wondering how to find Moonlight. Ray decides to go out for a walk. During the walk, he discovers that he has somehow been magically transported back in time to 1972. He quickly finds the elderly Moonlight Graham (Burt Lancaster) in the streets, who has been working as a doctor since his brief time in the major leagues. In Graham’s office, when Ray asks why he left baseball for medicine, Graham answers that he’d rather save lives as a medical doctor than scrounge through the minor leagues again. He declines Ray’s invitation to fulfill his dream.
When Ray comes back to the real world the next morning, he and Terence return to Iowa. On their way, they pick up a young hitchhiker. After a brief discussion of how the man is trying to find a way to play professional baseball, the young man introduces himself as Archie Graham (Frank Whaley) – the young Moonlight. The three return to the farm, where Moonlight begins to play with the other ghosts. More baseball players have appeared in Ray’s absence, and Moonlight is having a great time playing, while also being razzed by the veteran players about his youth and enthusiasm.
During an argument between Ray and his brother-in-law, who is forcing him to lease
the property before it’s too late, Karin falls off the bleachers. Karin appears to be not breathing. Moonlight quickly runs to help but hesitates to leave the baseball field.
He does step off the field, instantly becoming the old doctor Ray met in Chisholm.
Graham recognizes that Karin is choking and holding her steady and pounding her on
the upper back, causing her to cough up the piece of hot dog that had blocked her airway.
Ray realizes that Graham’s decision means he cannot return to the field as his younger self and apologizes to the doctor. Moonlight assures Ray that it’s alright, and thanks him for his chance. He walks out into the ballfield toward the cornfield, the players now addressing Graham with subdued, respectful voices. Terence and Karin persuade Ray’s brother-in-law that tourists will pay admission to see the magic of this field to bring back memories of the game.
At the end of the day, the players head for the corn stalks in the outfield. Just before vanishing, Shoeless Joe asks Terence if he will come with them. An angry Ray demands to know why he can’t go. Terence persuades him that he has to stay behind to take care of his family. After saying goodbye, Terence walks into the cornstalks and disappears.
Shoeless Joe then tells Ray, “If you build it, HE will come”, and glances toward a player near home plate in catcher’s equipment. The player removes his mask, and Ray recognizes his father, John, as a young man. At his wife’s urging, Ray introduces John to his granddaughter, Karin, catching himself before telling Karin who he is, and simply introducing him as “John”. As his father is heading toward the outfield, to leave with the rest of the players, Ray asks his father to play catch, finally calling him “Dad”, as father and son choke back tears. As they play catch, a long line of cars begins approaching the baseball field – people coming to watch the game… thus fulfilling Karin and Terrence’s prophecy that people will come to watch baseball.
Kevin Costner would be proud. It’s time for two teams to re-emerge from
the corn stalks in Iowa. And this time, it will be the Cincinnati Reds and
Chicago Cubs
.
The second edition of the MLB’s nostalgic

This beautiful world speaks to us of a loving GOD WHO cares for HIS creation.
” For by HIM were all things created, that are in Heaven, and that are in Earth . . .
and by HIM all things consist of ”
(Colossians 1:16-17).
What is clearly seen in creation are “. . . HIS eternal power and GODhead . . .”
(Romans 1:20).
“The heavens declare . . . HIS handiwork”
(Psalm 19:1)
Yes, creation does speak. GOD holds the world together, and HIS creation
trusts and depends upon HIM. GOD’s greatest creation is man because “. . .
GOD created man in HIS OWN image . . .”
(Genesis 1:27).
And GOD gave man a free will to choose if he will trust his CREATOR.
Dear Friend, have you put your trust in GOD?
You ask. ” What does it mean to trust GOD? “
FIRST,
trust GOD when HE says that every person is a sinner.
The Bible tells us in
Romans 3:10,
“. . . There is NONE righteous, no, not one.”
And again
Romans 3:23
says, “For ALL have sinned, and come short of the glory of GOD.”
Our sins have separated us from GOD. Before you can know that you have eternal life and that you will go to Heaven, you must first know and believe that you are a sinner.
SECOND,
trust GOD when HE says that our sin debt must be paid.
Romans 6:23
says, “For the wages of sin is death . . .”
According to GOD’s WORD, we are ALL sinners, and our sin must be paid for.
If we fail to trust GOD in this life, we will die without CHRIST and spend eternity separated from GOD.
THIRD,
trust GOD when HE says that CHRIST died for our sins and rose from the dead.
The Bible tells us in
Romans 5:8,
“But GOD commendeth HIS love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST died for us.”
The best news that anyone could ever tell you is that JESUS CHRIST died for your sins.
All our sins were laid on HIM. HE paid our sin debt in full.
CHRIST shed HIS blood on Calvary for you, because “. . .
without shedding of blood is no remission ” of sin (
Hebrews 9:22).
Then HE rose from the dead, and HE said to those who trust HIM, “. . .
Because I live, ye shall live also ”
(John 14:19).
FOURTH,
trust GOD when HE says we must personally receive CHRIST as our LORD and SAVIOR.
Romans
10:13
says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
That “whosoever” means you. GOD allows you to choose whether or not you will trust HIM. A person can believe that GOD loves him.
He can believe that he is a sinner, and that sin must be paid for.
BUT if he is not willing to put his faith and trust in CHRIST,
he will die lost and be separated from GOD forever.
LET US REVIEW FOR A MOMENT.
[] Do you realize that GOD loves you?
(John 3:16)
[] Do you believe that you are a sinner?
(Romans 3:23)
[] Do you agree with the Bible that your sin debt must be paid?
(Romans 6:23)
[] Do you believe that CHRIST died for you?
(Romans 5:8)
[] Do you see that you must call upon the Lord to save you?
(Romans 10:13)
The Bible says that “the goodness of GOD leadeth thee to repentance” (
Romans 2:4).
If you would be willing to turn to GOD in repentance and faith, pray this simple prayer
or one like: LORD, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe YOU died and rose again for me. I am trusting YOU to forgive me, come into my heart and save me.
Help me to live for YOU always. In JESUS’ name I pray, AMEN.

GOD’s promise for you is everlasting life:
” For GOD so loved the world, that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
(John 3:16)
If you have made a decision to accept JESUS as your personal LORD and SAVIOR after reading this post, please let me know so that I along with the angels in Heaven can REJOICE over one sinner that repents.
NOW THAT YOU”RE A CHRISTIAN:
Share your new-found faith with your family and friends
(Acts 16:31-33).
Identify with CHRIST through believer’s baptism and become part of
a local Bible-believing church
(Acts 2:41, 47).

OBAMA + SOROS STARTED THE 2014–2022 WAR BETWEEN GLOBALISTS
UKRAINE + ANTI–GLOBALIST RUSSIA. . . . WHICH MIGHT BECOME WW3.
In February 2014, the Soros–Obama–Hillary Clinton–
Biden Globalist Cabal of
Satanic warmongers
organized
“Maidan” Revolution in Ukraine
that also transformed it into their puppet, a “New World Order” Globalist nation.
The new government of Ukraine was instigated by them to subject to a genocide by the ethnic
Russian Orthodox Christian minority
and butchered 15,000 of its members in secessionist Donbass.

The
Posse Comitatus
Act
is
the United States federal law (18 U.S.C. § 1385, original at 20 Stat. 152) that was passed on June 18, 1878, after the end of Reconstruction and was updated in 1981. Its intent (
in concert with the Insurrection Act of 1807)
Was to limit the powers of the Federal government in using federal military personnel
to enforce the state laws. The Act, as modified in 1981, refers to the Armed Forces of the United States. It does not apply to the National Guard under state authority from acting
in a law enforcement capacity within its home state or in an adjacent state if invited by that state’s governor.
The United States Coast Guard, which operates under the Department of Homeland Security, is not covered by the Posse Comitatus Act either, primarily because although Coast Guard is an armed service, it has both a maritime law enforcement mission and
a federal regulatory agency mission.

This bill is on its way to the House today. This is an appropriations bill that originated

What do you also suggest when the IRS comes to our doors to confiscate personal property?
This is an Act of War and should be treated as such and resisted by any and ALL MEANS REQUIRED.
The FED has lost it and the sad fact is, it’s pretty obvious we are headed for hyperinflation.
What do you suggest when the IRS comes to our doors to confiscate personal property?
Not trying to be confrontational, I’m just curious. The IRS is also coming at citizens with weapons violates the
Posse Comitatus Act
and is an illegal Act of Aggression and War and should be treated as such.
Not trying to be confrontational, I’m just curious.
The Senate passed a 740 BILLION DOLLAR package over the weekend,
with Vice President Kamala Harris giving Democrats the last vote, they needed.
The bill is called the ‘Inflation Reduction Act of 2022,’ but Glenn explains why it likely will do the EXACT opposite. And not only could it hurt your wallet, but it may hurt your food, too. Glenn details parts of the bill that target American farmers and the farming industry, all in the name of climate change. The ramifications — many of which are already happening in Europe — could be HUGE: ‘This is really, very dangerous.’
I think stores better have tight security because when people can’t afford to feed their families, things might get ugly, 87, 000 new IRS “agents”… and the IRS is stockpiling ammo. The IRS will have more IRS agents than the CBP, The State Department, the FBI, and Secret Service combined???
This would be a private army under the Treasury Dept. No till farming is and has been a thing for a long time now. If they want to help the soil let farmers plant hemp and a cover crop. As a no till Farmer for over 20 years, I know hemp is the last thing you’d plant to increase soil health.

Why do you think the I.R.S. bought all that ammo?
BLOWS my mind. There is all that infrastructure cache.
The Pentagon has 27,000 employees
State Departments 77,243 employees. FBI 35,000.
US CUSTOMS & Border Patrol 19,536 people.
Didn’t the federal government try to regulate farming in the 1930’s??
If every citizen in the US applied for an IRS job today, tomorrow, etc. we would
overwhelm the hiring process since it takes 1-6 months to become an employee.
This would set the IRS back years just to hire 87000 people.
That turned out well didn’t it!!! Another government anchor around our necks.
The Farmer’s to Consumers Legal Defense Find is going to be working overtime on this. They do not want us farmers being in control of the production of the commodities we produce to sell. We learned a long time ago that when you sign up for the various NRCS programs and start taking their money. You are under their thum.b for 10yrs or whatever the program period is to do what they say. We will listen to their advice but won’t take their money.
Locally fields that have grown hemp were useless for at least 2 years after the hemp crop. It made it a barren wasteland that blew like the dust bowl. “If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered…. I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies…. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs.”

If Farmers Go Against Them, Their ESG Score Will Not Register, I will Tell Them to Not Care About Such Things and Fight with All You Might, I just read something that scientist said that if you plant a cover crop it sucks up the CO2 in the atmosphere plus planting trees etc and an article. The problem we have here is they’re trying to drastically do things that you know we’ll make a difference in the long run but especially after 2022 and the hits that this country has taken on the middle class.

How the ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ Targets FARMERS…and YOU.
Beware the food insecurity that’s coming. About $20 billion of President Biden’s tax, health care and climate bill will pay farmers to use their lands in environmentally friendly ways. That means more regulatory controls on the agriculture industry. That means higher food prices — and worse.

“America’s Got Talent” sensation Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski died at age 31
on February 19, 2022, following a courageous public battle with cancer.
AGT golden buzzer’s Nightbirde, on toxic relationships and letting go.
by Jane Kingsu-Cheng
“Cancer isn’t killing you, you’re killing yourself.”
As one of the most-watched talent competition shows on TV,
America’s Got Talent
has seen its fair share of memorable Acts. Although plenty of great Acts get standing ovations and praise from the panel of Judges, the Golden Buzzer is the ultimate acknowledgment of next-level talent.
According to
Judge Simon Cowell
, there’s one Golden Buzzer moment that will always stand out from the rest.
Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski
received the honorary Golden Buzzer from Cowell during the first round of Season 16 Auditions. “There was something really special about Jane,
I adored her,” Cowell told
AGT
Host Terry Crews
in the above video from July 5’s
Simon’s Favorite Golden Buzzers episode
.
“The last time I saw her, she did say what that moment meant to her.
All these years she had been trying to get recognition as a songwriter, as a singer…
I promise you, so many people came up to me and talked about what she did,
giving people hope and perspective.”
During Marczewski’s Audition, she was very open about her ongoing battle with cancer, and Cowell was blown away by both her talent and overwhelming message of hope. “What was so special about Jane, in my opinion, was that she was always optimistic,” said Cowell. “She recently passed away, which makes this tough, but all she kept talking about was her music. You know what? It’s difficult, I haven’t been able to watch
[her Audition video]
since she passed.”
After her four-year battle with cancer, Marczewski passed away on February 19, 2022. However, her inspirational message lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone she touched with her talent and authenticity. “You know, she typifies, I think, what the Golden Buzzer, like you said, is all about,” Cowell said to Crews. “She knew how sick she was and she couldn’t make the Finals, but I think watching it back, it makes you feel hopeful. Her Golden Buzzer will live on forever. No one else, in my opinion, could be number one.”
After watching Nightbirde’s (real name Jane Marczewski) beautiful performance
on America’s Got Talent and finding out that she went to the auditions alone, many wondered where her family was at that time. After all, how could anyone not be in love with her angelic voice, beautiful face, and expressive eyes.
But Jane did get married—to a fellow musician Jeremy Claudio back in 2015.
They had a lovely intimate wedding in an old building from the 1920s in Newark, Ohio. According to
The Knot
, the couple was very hands on with the details, filling up the place with lots of greens. The wedding ceremony ended with dinner at the building’s Sparta Restaurant & Coffee Shop. All the guests had the couple’s very first meal when they discovered Sparta—chicken and waffles with homemade hot-pepper jelly and home fries.
LAIDBACK WEDDING Jane and Jeremy got married in an old building from the 1920s.
Within a span of five years, the couple, especially Jane, went through a lot of challenges—mainly bouts of cancer that gave her less than double-digit chances of survival every time. “I have had cancer three times now, and I have barely passed thirty,” she posted on her
blog
.
The song “It’s Okay” which she composed and sang in America’s Got Talent is about her journey the past year.
She tells
Access
, “This was the song that I wrote for myself that I needed to hear. In the beginning of 2020, I was diagnosed with cancer, given six months to live. Two weeks later, I went through divorce. My husband said he didn’t want to do it anymore.” In one of her recent posts, she shares a podcast with the caption, “It’s the realest I’ve ever been about the collapse of my marriage and the lies that were keeping me sick.”
Tuning in to part four (Was I lying to myself?) of R.E.S.T. podcast between Jane and Virginia Dixon on Understanding How You Love and Attachment, Virginia helped Dixon in her journey of understanding herself better and what relationships should be like.
“I got into this marriage against the advice of my whole family. So, I met him, and he was everything that I ever dreamed of. It was romantic and it was exciting, and my family and my parents saw some red flags and I did not listen to them, because I did not respect the way that they had had their marriage. So that was like a revolt on my part and a lack of wisdom on my part.”
“I got married and we moved to Nashville.
We’re both artists, and we kind of fell into the rhythm that I was the parent in the relationship. I bought 90 percent of the income, I cooked, I cleaned, I did the grocery,
I took the car to get the oil changed, I fed the dog, I mowed the grass. I did everything because that was the rhythm of my life,” she realized. Burnt out, but because this was what she was accustomed to, she kept telling herself at that time,
“Please, please, please. Perform, perform.”
She also added that “because of my husband’s own emotional trauma, he was impossible to please and controlling and extremely critical.” She also realized, in hindsight, that she had “come back to the same pattern of overachieving and never reaching the mark.”
“At that time, I didn’t realize that it was unhealthy, that it was abusive… until I became aware of my attachment style and because of my family history, I didn’t realize that I was unhealthy.” Virginia added, “Cancer isn’t killing you; you’re killing yourself.”
Jane remembered the emotions that have always dominated her life, thoughts such as
“I need to strive, I need to control if I only worked hard enough, I would have all the things
I want and get what I deserved.” Life didn’t go the way she planned, “I was getting angry trying to control.”
RAY OF SUNSHINE One of Nightbirde’s cover photos (Facebook)
Eventually, she realized that the outcome is not in her hands, but what matters is, as Virginia said, is to “understand how you got to where you are, and how to get out.” She stressed the importance of communicating what you need to yourself, to God, and then to others. And that’s when Jane started to let go, and when she did, “When I let go or stop trying to control the situation, then the goodness of life and the goodness of God just took over. Things have been looking up for me.” “You can’t wait until life isn’t hard anymore before you decide to be happy.”
-Nightbirde.
She will always be number one.

However, Nightbirde refused to let the disease define her: “It’s important that everyone knows I’m so much more than the bad things that happen to me,” she said before her performance.
She said after the performance that she had a 2% chance of survival —

Brittney Griner: WNBA star sentenced to 9 years in Russian jail for drug-smuggling – CNN
There has been a growing chorus of calls for Washington to do more to secure Griner’s release nearly five months after being arrested on drug charges.
By
Yuliya Talmazan
WNBA star
Brittney Griner
was sentenced to 9 years in Russian prison after being convicted on drug charges by a Moscow court Thursday. Griner
pleaded guilty
last month in a lengthy trial that has underscored the frayed relations between the United States and Russia since the Kremlin’s
invasion of Ukraine
.
Prosecutors asked for a sentence of 9 1/2 years after
closing arguments Thursday.
In a final plea for leniency, an emotional Griner apologized and repeated that she
never intended to break any Russian laws but that she had made “an honest mistake.”
Just hours later, Judge
Anna Sotnikova returned to announce she had been found guilty
of drug possession and smuggling. Griner, 31, will also have to pay a fine of 1 million rubles ($16,590), but can appeal the verdict.
Attention will now turn to the potential for a
prisoner swap
between Washington and Moscow. U.S. officials are not expecting rapid movement in the effort to get Griner released, but will keep pressing the issue, a U.S. official told NBC News.
“Today, American citizen Brittney Griner received a prison sentence that is one more reminder of what the world already knew: Russia is wrongfully detaining Brittney,” President
Joe Biden
said in a statement shortly after the verdict was announced.
“It’s unacceptable, and I call on Russia to release her immediately so she can be with
her wife, loved ones, friends, and teammates. My administration will continue to work
tirelessly and pursue every possible avenue to bring Brittney and Paul Whelan home
safely as soon as possible.”
Griner’s legal team said she was “very disappointed,” in a statement to reporters outside the courthouse, adding they were “very surprised by the verdict. “The court completely ignored the evidence of the defense, and most importantly, the guilty plea,” her lawyers said in a separate statement sent on the Telegram messaging app.
They added that they will file an appeal.
And Griner’s WNBA team,
the Phoenix Mercury
, said it remained hopeful the Biden administration will secure
the basketball great’s freedom
. “While we knew it was never
the legal process that was going to bring our friend home, today’s verdict is a sobering milestone in the 168-day nightmare being endured by our sister, BG,” the WNBA franchise said in a statement.
“We remain heartbroken for her, as we have every day for nearly six months. We remain grateful to and confident in the public servants working every day to return her to her family and us.” Griner was
detained
at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport in February; Russian authorities said they found vape canisters with cannabis oil in her luggage.
Griner,
a two-time Olympic gold medalist
, admitted the canisters were hers.
She said she took them to Russia unintentionally after packing her luggage in a hurry.
The Kremlin has been accused of using Griner as a political pawn, while the Biden administration has been under growing pressure from her family and teammates to secure her release. The U.S. government has
proposed that Moscow
release Griner and another American,
Paul Whelan
, who is serving a 16-year sentence for espionage, in exchange for convicted Russian arms dealer
Viktor Bout
, according to two sources familiar with the matter.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre
told reporters
Monday that
Russia responded in “bad faith” to the U.S. government’s offer with one of its own.
“We don’t see it as a serious counteroffer,” she said. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who
spoke with
his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, last week — the highest-level diplomatic engagement between the two countries since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February — to urge the Kremlin to accept the U.S. offer.
The Russians
responded
by urging the U.S. to refrain from speculation and pursue
“Quiet diplomacy” instead. In a statement after the sentencing Thursday, Blinken said
that it “compounds the injustice of her wrongful detention.”
“This step puts a spotlight on our significant concerns with Russia’s legal system and
the Russian government’s use of wrongful detentions to advance its own agenda, using
individuals as political pawns,” he added.
In May, the State Department reclassified Griner as having been “
wrongfully detained
”
and transferred oversight of her case to its presidential envoy for hostage affairs.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has denied Griner is being held
as a hostage
.
Biden spoke with Griner’s wife, Cherelle Griner, last month. He also sent a letter directly to Griner after she sent him a handwritten note pleading for help to get her released.
On Thursday, Griner was led into a cage inside the courtroom in handcuffs, wearing a gray-colored shirt. Before the proceedings began, she displayed a photo of her teammates from the Russian club she played for in the WNBA off-season. Her lawyer Maria Blagovolina called prosecutors’ requests for a strict sentence “nonsense.”
The charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 years.
Her defense team called into question some of the expert analysis used in the case
and said Griner did not have proper interpreter access during her arrest. They pointed
out Griner’s many athletic accomplishments, including in Russia, where the 6-foot-9 native of Houston plays for Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company Ekaterinburg.
Her lawyers reiterated that Griner has only used cannabis medically and has never used
it in Russia. They asked for Griner to be acquitted or be given the most lenient sentence possible.
As Griner addressed the court, her voice trembled as she apologized to her fans, family

(CNN)
Trevor Reed
, a US citizen freed earlier this year after being detained in Russia for nearly three years, said Friday that Brittney Griner’s sentence by a Russian court is “clearly political.”
Griner, a WNBA star who was arrested in Russia in February, was
convicted Thursday
of deliberately smuggling drugs into Russia and sentenced to nine years of jail time. She plays there in the off-season and was accused of trying to smuggle less than 1 gram of cannabis oil in her luggage.
“Regardless of how you feel about Brittney Griner’s case, that sentence is clearly political. There’s no denying that,” Reed told CNN’s Brianna Keilar on “New Day.”
Reed, a former US Marine, was arrested in Russia in 2019, accused of endangering the “life and health” of Russian police officers in an altercation — charges that he and his family denied. He was sentenced by a Russian court to nine years in prison in 2020 and had been transferred to a labor camp during his detainment.
Reed was
released in a prisoner swap
in April and returned home to the US.
Reed on Friday laid out what could happen next for Griner, who has returned to the Russian detention center where she was kept during her trial while her lawyers vow to appeal the sentence.
“Once you are convicted in a Russian court, you do have a chance to go to appeals, and appeal that decision to another kangaroo court in Moscow. So, after that trial, you know, depending on Brittney’s decision on whether she wants to appeal or not, she may stay in Moscow at the detention facility that she is already at until her appeals are completed.
Or if she chooses not to go to appeals, they may transfer her to a forced labor camp.
Considering the fact that the Russian government is considering exchanging her, they may also decide to leave her in Moscow to make it easier for her to be returned to the United States,” Reed said.
Reed said anyone who’s held in a Russian forced labor camp is “facing serious threats to their health” due to malnutrition, little to no medical attention and the risk of contracting diseases.
The Biden administration has classified Griner as wrongfully detained and continues to negotiate for her release.
Reed had
previously told CNN
that he believes Griner and Paul Whelan, another wrongfully detained American in Russia, “have a really good chance” of being released following
CNN’s exclusive reporting
that the Biden administration offered to exchange convicted Russian arms trafficker Viktor Bout as part of a potential deal to secure Griner and Whelan’s release.
Russian government officials requested last month that a former colonel from the country’s domestic spy agency, who was convicted of murder in Germany last year,
be included in the US’ proposed swap of Bout for Griner and Whelan,
multiple sources familiar with the discussions told CNN.
Russia’s foreign minister, Sergey Lavrov,
told reporters in Cambodia
on Friday that the Kremlin is “ready to discuss this topic, but within the framework of the channel that has been agreed by the presidents,” state news agency RIA Novosti reported.
And shortly after, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said at the same summit that the US will “pursue” talks with Russia. Reed told CNN Friday: “I am hoping that there will be an exchange that we are able to get them home, so I am hoping for the best in that.”

I’m Sophia Le. A few years ago, I came across the carnivore diet by accident. I was intrigued and tried to find out as much as I can about this way of eating. On this site,
A
Comprehensive Beginner’s Guide to the Carnivore Diet (allthingscarnivore.com)
I write about what I know so people who are interested can learn about it and make decisions that are best for their health.
Many people have experienced significant health improvements after switching to the carnivore diet.
This post features Mikhaila Peterson, her discovery of the carnivore diet, and her journey to healing and health.
In particular, we will look at health issues she had suffered from childhood into adulthood, how modern medicine failed her, how she discovered the carnivore diet and experienced remarkable improvements in her health, and how it changed her life.

Mikhaila Peterson’s
health problems from childhood to adolescence.
Born in 1992,
Mikhaila Peterson
is the daughter of Jordan Peterson, a well-known Canadian professor of psychology, and Tammy Peterson.
Myriad health problems followed her from childhood into adulthood.
At age 2, she had symptoms of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Her parents noticed something was wrong with her hips because her way of walking seemed odd, and she would cry when they put her down after she was being carried on their shoulders.
At age 7, she was diagnosed with arthritis. Many of her joints were actively inflamed and they were injected with cortisone to control inflammation.
At age 8, she was the first kid in Canada to be put on Enbrel, a prescription medication used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, as well as a number of other medications.
At age 9, she began to show symptoms of depression, anxiety, and OCD tendencies.
At age 10, those symptoms had become severe enough that she was put on SSRI
(Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), a widely used antidepressant.
At age 14, she began to experience chronic fatigue and itching which
she then had to battle with for the next few years.
At age 16, she was told that she would need a hip replacement before the age of 30
because of the state her hip was in. But her condition deteriorated so much in the following six months that she needed a hip replacement at age 17. In the same year,
she also had an ankle replacement because her ankle cartilage had mostly eroded.
Mikhaila Peterson’s health problems into adulthood
At age 19, she went to university and things went downhill very quickly from there due
to the change in her diet. She went from eating whole grains and organic food with her parents to surviving off noodles.
As a result, she experienced mouth ulcers, bleeding gums, thinning hair, her skin simply stopped healing, extreme fatigue, idiopathic hypersomnia, and severe brain fog.
She also gained weight and her depression got worse which she tried to fix with antidepressant medications, including taking large doses of strong immune-suppressing drugs like methotrexate. Her dose of Wellbutrin, an antidepressant, was increased high enough that it gave her a seizure. She was willing to live with the condition, however, other problems soon followed such as skin breakout and itching which doctors couldn’t help her.
Realizing how unwell she was, she began researching and was advised by a naturopath to go on an elimination diet.
In May 2015, she eliminated gluten because she has the celiac gene but that didn’t
make much difference. She kept going, eliminating more including dairy, soy, lectins,
and sweeteners.
In September 2015, she went on an elimination diet that she came up with herself,
it was just meat, root vegetables, and rice because she thought nobody seemed to be allergic to these foods.
Later on, she cut out rice because she realized that it bothered her and was left with apples, greens, root vegetables (excluding potatoes), and meat.
She did really well on this low-carb diet, and she managed to stop all her medications including antidepressants in November 2016. She mentioned it is usually really dark in November in Canada and for people with depression, it is definitely not a good time to stop the antidepressant medication, but she knew it was gone and she could stop the medication.

How did Mikhaila Peterson discover the carnivore diet?
When Mikhaila got pregnant in December 2016, all of her arthritis and depression symptoms came back.
She reported having joint pain when picking up her baby or her wrist would buckle when she tried to push herself up on her wrist. This made her frustrated and angry. She had a taste of what good health was like and now it was all happening again, and she didn’t know what to do for about a year.
At the time, all she had was meat, lettuce, pepper, salt, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil. She thought she’d cut out most foods and she needed the lettuce for vitamins.
Mikhaila Peterson Joe Rogan Podcast – Search (bing.com)
But she then came across Shawn Baker on one of
Joe Rogan Experience
episodes.
Shawn said he was eating meat only for two years, but he looked strong and healthy,
so, she decided to try out this meat-only diet.
In December 2017, she cut out everything except meat.
Despite being on a low-carb diet for a while, she still had initial transitional symptoms like bloating and diarrhea.
However, the itching and arthritis went away within a week, and her depression lifted in about 6 weeks.
According to Mikhaila, the carnivore diet has allowed her to get off over 10 medications and put several, seemingly incurable, life-long diseases into complete remission, including arthritis, depression, bipolar type II, idiopathic hypersomnia, Lyme disease, psoriasis, and dyshidrotic eczema.
She did everything her doctors told her and everything they tried failed but she succeeded by simply switching to the carnivore diet.
What does Mikhaila Peterson eat?
She started with beef, salt, and water. Nowadays, her version of the carnivore diet
includes high-fat beef, lamb, elk, and other ruminants. She generally eats once or twice a day, mostly ribs, about a pound and a half. She also drinks alcohol occasionally; she can tolerate vodka and bourbon.
She also said that she doesn’t take any vitamin supplements.
In a Q&A session with
Toronto Life
in August 2018, she said she’d had vitamins and cholesterol checked recently and everything was normal, but her doctor is very skeptical of the carnivore diet.
As with her daughter’s diet, Mikhaila said she won’t keep her daughter on a restricted diet like herself, but she definitely won’t let her daughter have sugar or grains.
Mikhaila also mentioned that she practices fasting regularly, increasing from 18 hours to 24 hours to 36 hours. She also did a 7-day fast recently, drinking only electrolytes.
The downside of the carnivore diet for her is when she eats something other than meat,
for example, a bit of pepper on steak, the reaction can be horrific.
Mikhaila Peterson’s influence on the carnivore diet movement.
Mikhaila managed to persuade her dad, Jordan Peterson, to try out the all-meat diet.
He too had resolved many health problems. In an interview with
The Atlantic
, Jordan Peterson said his lifelong depression, anxiety, gastric reflux (and associated snoring), inability to wake up in the mornings, psoriasis, gingivitis, floaters in his right eye, numbness on the sides of his legs, problems with mood regulation were all gone.

Jordan Peterson talked about his carnivore diet experience in an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast in July 2018. Due to the popularity of Joe Rogan’s podcast (one of the most-watched podcasts on the web), Mikhaila and her dad’s transformational experience on the carnivore diet reached a large audience and helped the carnivore diet in attracting public attention.
Mikhaila now promotes her version of the carnivore diet “the lion diet” through her blog and YouTube channel and other media appearances. Her ‘lion diet’ version is basically ruminant meat (e.g., beef, lamb, goat), salt, and water.

The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, what lessons it holds for America,
and how America can avoid Rome’s fate. Part I

Like so many, I have spent time watching the events play out in Afghanistan
and pondering its meaning and long-term implications for America. Some of my
thoughts are contained in the previous
Afghanistan edition of the Newsletter.
But it has also caused me to wonder more broadly whether it is a harbinger of America’s decline and fall, or the opposite, the spark for its renewal. Being a student of history, and always mindful of that wise aphorism regarding those who neglect to learn from it, aIso sought guidance in the past.
America is not of course the first nation to encounter troubles in Afghanistan, known
for good reason as the “graveyard of empires.” Prior to America, the Soviet Union failed spectacularly in Afghanistan, leading to its ultimate demise only but a few years later.
But there are also historical examples of failure in Afghanistan leading to a nation’s renewal. Take the British. Who in 1842 were embarrassingly defeated by Afghan warlords? Far from leading to the fall or decline of the British Empire, however, it caused the British to recalibrate and concentrate on more important interests and competitors, including China. A fact portending America’s current situation. As Gregory Mitrovich writes in an excellent piece in the South China Morning Post entitled
America in decline?
China still has a way to go before it can seriously challenge the US
:
“Although the victory of the Taliban is a blow to the US, there is an important historical lesson that China should remember. In 1842, the Afghan warlords had defeated British efforts to install a ruler who was friendly to British interests, giving credence to Afghanistan’s reputation as the “graveyard of empires”.
However, this ignores the reason Britain accepted this setback; it chose instead to focus on the Opium War in China, a defeat which Chinese leaders still regard as the beginning of the “century of humiliation”. As Beijing must understand, the US is similarly abandoning Afghanistan in 2021 to concentrate on its contest with China.”.
Thus, history shows that America’s failure in Afghanistan, as dire as it currently appears, does not necessarily portend America’s fall and decline. In fact, it could even provide the catalyst to just the opposite–a new rise to even greater heights.
This question of whether Afghanistan will be for America a harbinger of decline and fall, or catalyst for renewal, brought me to ponder the decline and fall of another famous empire: The Roman Empire. And to compare the circumstances that brought it down with those of present day America.
Comparisons between America and the Roman Empire are not new of course and are in fact—forgive the pun—legion, and even something of a cottage industry. I am also mindful of the potential folly of going too far in projecting the unique factors and circumstances that befell the Roman Empire a thousand years ago onto 21st century America.
But there are, I believe, instructive lessons for America from Rome’s decline and fall.
Even glaring warnings that should be heeded. And as I pondered the causes of Rome’s decline and fall, I saw similarities to many of the ills currently plaguing America.
To that end, the
History Channe
l has compiled a handy list of 8 main causes
for the decline and fall of the Roman Empire generally agreed upon by historians.
They are as follows:
Invasions by Barbarian tribes
Economic troubles and overreliance on slave labor
The rise of the Eastern Empire
Overexpansion and military overspending
Government corruption and political instability
The arrival of the Huns and the migration of the Barbarian tribes
Christianity and the loss of traditional values
Weakening of the Roman legions
In Part I, we will analyze the first cause above and its application and analogy
to America, and how America can avoid Rome’s fate.
I. Invasions by Barbarian tribes:
One of the chief causes agreed upon by historians for the Roman Empire’s collapse
was a string of military losses against outside forces like the Goths and the Vandals.
The History Channel explains:
“The most straightforward theory for Western
Rome’s
collapse pins the fall on a string of military losses sustained against outside forces. Rome had tangled with Germanic tribes for centuries, but by the 300s “barbarian” groups like the Goths had encroached beyond the Empire’s borders. The Romans weathered a Germanic uprising in the late fourth century, but in 410 the Visigoth King Alaric successfully sacked the city of Rome.
The Empire spent the next several decades under constant threat before “the Eternal City” was raided again in 455, this time by the Vandals. Finally, in 476, the Germanic leader Odoacer staged a revolt and deposed the Emperor Romulus Augustulus.
From then on, no Roman emperor would ever again rule from a post in Italy,
leading many to cite 476 as the year the Western Empire suffered its deathblow.”
While, unlike Rome, America is not yet in any immediate threat of having its capitol sacked and raided by an outside force, since the terrorist attacks of 9/11 America has engaged in wars and military conflicts in the Middle East against modern day barbarians like Al Qaeda, ISIS and the Taliban. Culminating in America’s recent withdrawal from the war in Afghanistan.
Though the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have not directly threatened the American homeland, they have certainly weakened America. They have caused America to spend trillions in treasure, deploy countless human and material assets and resources, and distracted America from far more important priorities in both the domestic and foreign policy arenas.
They have also hurt America’s credibility on the world stage and its ability to project
power around the world and shattered the myth of its invincibility. Exemplified by the humiliating sight of the Taliban returning triumphantly to power after 20 long years of war.
The failures in Afghanistan are not the result of any lack of resoluteness or prowess by America’s military forces, who, to the contrary, exhibited both in spades, holding and controlling a large, inhospitable, and ungovernable nation located on the other side of
the world for 20 years.
A remarkable achievement, perhaps unmatched by any military in history.
No, the failure in Afghanistan is attributable to an absolute lack of will, vision, and competency on the part of America’s political leadership. This represents the largest and most dire problem that America faces and is in many ways at the root of all the others. Indeed, it could rightly be called America’s Achilles heel.
The wars in the Middle East also caused America to take its focus away from other outside threats, most notably, that of China. While America expended enormous resources and focus in the Middle East, America allowed China to metastasize to an existential level threat to American power. History will show this to be a severe strategic blunder on America’s part, akin to spending time and energy removing a relatively innocuous wart, while ignoring the rapid growth of a potentially terminal tumor.
Unfortunately, however, China is not the only malignant disease that grew untreated
while America was at war in the Middle East. Alas, it may not even be the most dangerous. America’s domestic situation has rapidly deteriorated over the past 20 years as it concentrated on nation building abroad while neglecting to do the same at home.
And now the days right before and directly after 9/11 appear in retrospect to
be the apex of US domestic strength and unity, from which thereafter it was all downhill.
And the world before 9/11, which I grew up in, seems now on so many levels a paradise
long lost and forgotten; a veritable Eden from which we have been cast out.
There are numerous reasons of course for the rot and the decay that have also crept into America, some long predating 9/11, and which will be discussed at length in other sections. But there can be no doubt that 9/11 and the wars and circumstances that followed contributed to and exacerbated all of them.
But while 9/11 and the wars in the Middle East have clearly caused America to decline, whether they will be a cause of its ultimate fall is yet to be seen. They do perhaps hold the seeds that may yet bring it about. They also, however, may hold the seeds for an entirely new rise.
For hope in this regard, America can look to the historical example
of its comparative failure in Vietnam, and the domestic upheaval that surrounded it.
Though America lost in Vietnam, again largely as the result of its political leadership,
it rebounded quickly to ultimately triumph against its great rival the Soviet Union in the first Cold War, and became in only a few years more powerful, and unified, than ever.
A testament to America’s extraordinary regenerative powers.
Though as Johns Hopkins University scholar and renowned author Hal Brands notes the “US recovery didn’t happen automatically … it took a concerted effort to revive American power”. It also took a once in a generation leader in President Ronald Reagan and the Reagan revolution, taking over from the historically weak and inept Jimmy Carter, and replacing Carter’s Malaise with Morning in America.
Thus, America can recover from Afghanistan and the years of war in the Middle East and rise again, as it did after Vietnam. But it will take a concerted effort, smart and decisive policymaking, and an iron national will. None of this can occur, however, without strong political leadership, alongside a new generation of committed Patriots willing to do whatever it takes, to rebuild and remake America’s crumbling foundations, and return America once again to unparcelled greatness.
To that end, history has shown that often weak leadership begets strong leadership.
That is, sometimes you need a Chamberlain to get a Churchill, or a Carter to get a Reagan.
The trick of course is to survive weak leadership long enough and well enough to get to the other side. To avoid the fate of Rome, or that of the Soviet Union, will depend very much on America’s political leadership over the next few years. For therein lies the road to ruin or riches.

Council of the Gods – Search.
Review by Michael Buening
Council of the Gods’s schizophrenic flux is a captivating representation of the competing interests of its time. The plot, about big industry’s complicity in building weapons, is based on Nuremberg Trial transcripts about the chemical company IG-Farben. The look of the film–flimsy studio sets, sinister research labs, and cheap stock footage–is reminiscent of B-horrors. The villains, ravenous Americans and capitalists, reek of Communist (and ironically Nazi) propaganda stereotypes. And the overriding “up with people” sentiment appears lifted from the ’30s Federal Theatre Project. (It is “dedicated to the friends of freedom all over the world.”)
Dr. Hans Scholz (Fritz Tillmann) is a simple family man drawn into larger events through unwitting complicity and deliberate ignorance. While developing a “devilish brew” for a Rhineland “monster company,” he repeatedly ignores the warnings of his collectivization-minded fellow workers. In histrionic arguments about the nature of their work they shout, “You’re abetting our slide into another war!” he counters, “I’m a scientist, not a politico!” The factory owners, the self-proclaimed “council of the gods,” form an international capitalist coalition to build weapons for the approaching world war. They care only for business and blithely joke about the effects of their policies. Scholz learns too late that the gas he developed is being marked for Auschwitz.
Scholz’s moral decline is ably captured by Tillman’s performance, his long mournful face and high receding hairline exposes a skull that appears to be both brilliant and empty.
The larger exposé of crooked business is not as successfully conveyed. The dealings between brokers are conducted with a cackling evil glee verging on camp. Yet the examination of Standard Oil’s role in assisting the Nazis is an intriguing topic, largely unexamined at the time by Americans equally eager to sweep their unsavory wartime
acts under the rug.
After the war ends, Gods first follows the attempts of Scholz and his co-worker
Karl (Albert Garbe) to turn the factory into a people’s collective adapted to peacetime.
But Chairman Mauch (Paul Bildt) returns from the Nuremberg trials intent on producing chemical weapons for the US (which spared the factory during bombings), anticipating a “new war to make billions.” Scholz stages a rally for peace proclaiming, “That’s the truth. The whole truth. Nobody can say they didn’t know it.” The ending sends mixed messages, seemingly supporting Communist ideology while sounding the alarm about an impending arms race in which the Soviets were certainly involved. There is a force and power in this closing sequence, and an uncertain buzz between the simple humanitarian message and the politics of DEFA’s increasingly propagandistic films.

The Ultimate Guide to Third Eye Chakra Healing for Complete Beginners
by
Aletheia
The third eye chakra is also the energy center in our body responsible for reality, perception, manifesting, thought, and intuition. According to yogic philosophy, the
third eye
is connected to
duality
which is a type of perception that opposes reality and is created solely by the mind. Once the third eye chakra is in harmony with the rest of the chakras,
it is said that a doorway towards
spiritual enlightenment
is opened.
When our third eye chakra is clean and balanced, we see life with clarity and possess strong intuition, insight,
self-awareness
, and emotional balance. On the other hand, when our third eye chakra is blocked or imbalanced, we tend to struggle with problems such as closed-mindedness, cynicism, anxiety, depression, paranoia, and various other mental illnesses and mood disorders.
If you think you might have a blocked third eye chakra, think back to your childhood. Were you raised in a closed-minded family? Was freethinking encouraged in your childhood, or were you conditioned to “obey without questioning”? Was your early life environment emotionally stable? Did you parents or caretakers value your insights and perspectives?
If not, you probably struggle with third eye chakra issues as a result of your childhood conditioning. Don’t worry, this guide will help you initiate your own unique process of third eye chakra healing.

Final Advice
Have you ever wished you had a sixth sense?
Some say to look no farther than between your eyes. The
chakras
are believed to be wheel-like energy centers distributed throughout your body that affect well-being and perception. The third eye chakra, also known as Ajna, is considered to be the sixth chakra in the body. This chakra is said to be located in the center of your head, parallel to the middle of your eyebrows.
It’s believed to be linked to perception, awareness, and spiritual communication.
Some say that when open, the third eye chakra can provide wisdom and insight, as well
as deepen your spiritual connection. While there’s no scientific evidence to support these claims, many traditions and cultures emphasize the importance of the third eye chakra.
Let’s dive deeper into what the third eye is, what it can do, and how to open it.

America, what do we intend to do about this?
You’re paying $100 to fill your gas tank and the Biden regime just sold our strategic
oil reserves to the same country that helped launch a plandemic that cost you more
than 2 years of your life.
If that doesn’t tell you how much these people truly hate and want to destroy America, nothing ever will. And Biden sold it to a company in China owned by the CCP AND that’s
his degenerate crackhead son had large investments in!
Can you say impeachable offense and treason?
Nets Bury Biden Selling Oil to Chinese Company Tied to Hunter Biden | Newsbusters
Replace Hunter with Trump jr. in this article and it would be the top story 24/7 in every news outlet in the country. And here I sit wondering How much longer do we have?
Nobody in government, on either side of the aisle, is doing anything. Government is not the solution; it’s the problem. We The People need to take things into our own hands!!! Organize and rise up!!! Replace Hunter with Trump jr. in this article and it would be the top story 24/7 in every news outlet in the country.
When is the time for action?
Nobody in government, on either side of the aisle, is doing anything. The lab is located in Wuhan, which is in CCP territory. China didn’t stop international travel, only their local travel. Which means they didn’t stop it from spreading. The US was part of the plandemic.. Fauci and his gang.
Even China got caught by surprise, in a sense, China was victimized by this happening, while getting set up to be the fall guy. There is a lot more to this story than what appears on the surface. Man, it makes me even more curious to know what the heck they have on the Biden Crime family.
Either the Bidens got paid an obscene amount of money or China has proof of something so nefarious even our MSM would be shocked. They are pushing EVs which they will tax the heck out of you with the mileage tax and the fake incentive to buy one is actually coming from your tax dollars which you will get more taxes taken out to fund.
All the while the politicians get richer from their money laundering. Enough is enough.
They are deliberately bleeding us dry to make us vulnerable.
#Draintheswamp
already!
It’s past time to

. Even China got caught by surprise,
in a sense, China was victimized by this happening, while getting set up to be the fall guy. There is a lot more to this story than what appears on the surface. He sold that oil to a country preparing to go to war with us. He is an enemy of the state and a traitor.
Those who kept bringing the onslaughts, will be treated accordingly
(I.E they were dispatched from the real world).
In today’s society, radical communists in our government have been attacking consistently for over 2yrs. Question is, are there enough patriots with any backbone left to bring our enemies to surrender?
We need some of our retired generals to put their heads together and organize an op to arrest and detain our present government that has been nefariously forced upon us and put President Trump in the Whitehouse and get all of the installed woke a dope out of the Pentagon and get our fighting men and women back on the job that have been ousted because of refusal of the jab. If our effort isn’t a concerted one. It will fail.
We owe it to our posterity. These people are domestic enemies. Traitors Well, I think Biden DID sell reserves to China, and Hunter was in on the deal. Do you have a source
says otherwise? I know most of our media lies, but this is from alternative media, too.
All I want from any of it is the truth. They must be protected by Satan himself.
They scoff at anything that ties them to China!
They run interference and collaborate with our Chinese enemies. When you can continually work hand in hand with China in a very profitable business deal which is treasonous without ever being charged and destroy your own country in the process. Without any accountability or remorse against all of humanity actually.
Enjoy now because the Lake of Fire lies ahead!
I’d have to say most convincingly now that Joe did indeed sell our oil reserves
to China, while Hunter profited from it.
There will be investigations about it, many House Republicans are calling for them.

I personally approve of the cold-water dousing, just open it up. Let everyone see no matter the shock, we are a resilient people we shall overcome. it’s in our very blood. just open the dam flood gates. Let everyone see for themselves what these dastardly evil destructive self-serving corrupt people have been up to.
Our government is nothing more than a criminal enterprise.
The criminals that have taken over our government in a political
coup that does not obey any laws.
We’re sort of in a Wild West kind of scenario, lawless.
It’s time to take out the garbage!
DC has totally turned against America, both Democrats and Republicans they must be removed peacefully or violently. The choice is theirs! The time has come when good men must do bad things to rid America from the tyranny killing our country! We are living the very reason the 2nd Amendment was written. ORGANIZE, ARM YOURSELVES, REMOVE THEM Through Law Enforcement! WHERE LAW ENDS TYRANNY BEGINS!
WAKE UP PEOPLE …HAD ENOUGH YET!
I’m not a genius, but I think there’s only one way to deal with bandits……
