Shanghai Cooperation Organisation

Alliance:
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, or Shanghai Pact, is a Eurasian political, economic, and security alliance. It is the world’s largest regional organization in geographic scope and population, covering three-fifths of the Eurasian continent, 40% of the world population, and more than 20% of global GDP.
The Shanghai Five was constituted by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in 1996, and subsequently, the “Treaty on Reduction of Military Forces in Border Regions in 1997” was signed with the aim of the resolution of the border problems in the fastest way. The union held consultations in 1999 for the extension of its mission to become integrated with the issues other than the security in Central Asia.

Harvard scientist has an interesting theory as to how our universe was formed:

in a laboratory by a higher “class” of lifeform.  image.png

Avi Loeb, bestselling author and the former chair of Harvard’s astronomy department, penned an op-ed in Scientific American this week positing that the universe could have been formed in a lab by an “advanced technological civilization.” If true, he said the origin story would unify the religious idea of a creator with the secular idea of quantum gravity.
“Since our universe has a flat geometry with a zero net energy, an advanced civilization could have developed a technology that created a baby universe out of nothing through quantum tunneling,” Loeb wrote.

Class A Civilization:
One of the more interesting ideas posited in an article chock full of them is the civilization classification system. Loeb said that as a low-level technological civilization, humans are class C (or a civilization dependent on its host star).
If and when our technology progresses to the point where we can become independent of the Sun, we’d be class B. If we can create our own baby universes in a laboratory (like our theoretical creators) we’d be class A.
Of course, there’s a wide number of things in our way — the biggest hurdle being our inability to create a “large enough density of dark energy within a small region,” said Loeb. However, if and when we do ever get there, we’d be able to join our theoretical creators in class A!
In any case, the theory is compelling, humbling, and a little bit frightening as well. If Loeb’s past theories are also to be believed, we’re likely not the only ones out there gunning for class A status either.

The current label used for the decades old grift fabricated by global leaders claiming man’s mere existence created a lethal atmosphere. In order to bilk tax payers of endless funds, programs & research are essential for the development of a remedy which will never find success.  Lets ignore the effects of Climate cycles & solar weather i.e energy from sun/galaxy and blame carbon dioxide so we can tax the poor to oblivion. The impact in the wider scheme of things is almost negligible. Let’s use realistic science based holistic models which use solar input.

Spot on summation :  Sometimes it doesn’t rain and sometimes it does. A radical adjustment to earth’s regular climate cycle aggravated by the damage human beings have done to the planet. Especially caused by the use of fossil fuels. Human cultures would be living a whole different life if we never started burning coal. We’re heading back that way.  A solar system traversing through an area of space with a greater increasing mass,,, *Interstellar space* Yes space has mass…a lot of vested interests attempting to take something that is an unpredictable complex system and measure it with statistically impossible precision. For sake of the Almighty dollar and greater control of the masses. Manufactured a money making scheme to get more control and sell carbon credits. in the modern history of North America. It took place in the middle of the Great Depression and Dust Bowl of the 1930s and caused catastrophic human suffering and an enormous economic toll. The death toll exceeded 5,000, and huge numbers of crops were destroyed by the heat and lack of moisture. Many state and city record high temperatures set during the 1936 heat wave stood until the summer 2012 North American heat wave. Many more endure to this day; as of 2021, 13 state record high temperatures were set in 1936.

The 1936 heat wave followed one of the coldest winters on record.

Climate has been changing since the beginning of time.

Humans think they control everything. We don’t. Fact . Every time a volcano erupts it puts thousands of years of pollution in the air . We can adapt to change but not control it . The planet is always moving, and the climate always changes. They sold us the idea that humans can stop it.
If it is as big a “Crisis” as they want you to believe, they’d be going after China, and shutting them down. Not one of their “Scientists” ever includes solar Cycles, moon wobble of earth’s increasing axis tilt in their calculations or explanations.

The climate has been changing as long as the earth has been around, I think it’s pretentious to think man can control it in any significant way, in either direction.

So they started harping about what to do (or not do) to “control” the earth’s temperature in order to make it a vote-able issue.  A made up ideology postulating human liberty as a threat to life on earth used to disguise an attack on individual rights, self-determination, free enterprise, and private property. Global Climate Change

Society grows great when men plant trees in whose shade they know they shall never sit.

Key point being 1895, weather is cyclical. You can’t make assumptions based on 126 years worth of data, when the planet has been in existence for billions of years.

100 years of data out of 4.5 BILLION years. Makes your observations irrelevant.  You do realize that the world had tons of life on it before we existed, however, Earth wasn’t suitable for human life up until very recently. So really about 6 million out of 4.5 billion years. That’s .13% of Earth’s existence. Earth will survive us…humans maybe not so much Person shrugging

Your claim is counter to AR6 so who are you parroting regarding anthropogenic climate change? Al Gore?

How will humans ever survive? Rolling on the floor laughing

1. Climate Change — the scientific debate.

Hey, us humans have lifetimes that are closer to 100 years than 4.5 billion, so it seems like the former would be more relevant. The worst #drought in the West since the 1800’s, 2021 harvest fell 50%, estimates for the 2022 harvest about the same, per farmers and agricultural industry; is NOT irrelevant. If you want to take on every Farmer and Agriculture – feel free, but you WILL feel like a #tinydrip in the ocean. No, makes it worse. Much worse. It usually takes tens of thousands of years to change the planet’s climate, and we’re doing it by ourselves in one century.

It’s breathtaking:  I have not left my house the last 45 years because of
Acid Rain, Ozone Depletion, Global Warming .

Now I have to stay in because of Climate Change. Rolling on the floor laughing

Ok we all now know you were fast asleep in both science and math classes !

Rightwards arrow FOOD, ENERGY, WATER AND THE CLIMATE: A PERFECT STORM OF GLOBAL EVENTS?

We are on the cusp of an epoch of evolution and another Cambrian Explosion of species. A great time in the history of evolution to see what happens when the earth gets warmer. Yeah it may take a few million years, but this 100 years gives hope for new adaptations.
It actually does not. There is no “rapid change” or “drastic change” .
The Earth’s climate goes wonky for the hundreds of years of transition going from interglacial to glacial periods.

We are now entering a glacial period.
Glacial periods are the norm FYI with interglacial periods being about 11k years and glacial periods about 90k years. Use the internet to look at the earth’s interglacial and glacial period graphs. Very easy to find. Yes, the data shows us this is quite normal. If my memory serves me right, in 1978 I think we had a blizzard in the US and all the climate scientists were claiming we were going into another mini ice age….just saying.

Do people still not question ‘contrails’ that stay for hours spreading out into opaque blankets covering the sun or the parallel trails flown by jets at the same altitude for miles then perpendicular when there are no jet routes?
Shiny webbing and long tendrils found at night or early morning?
The intensity of wildfires burning far hotter than normal with the same fuel? The concentrations of man-made aluminum found on the ground and surface water coating everything, or weird colors of clouds and sky refracting light?

Warning that crops would fail and mass starvation due to cold weather.
And how many of these places had the location of the official temperature station changed? The hottest year on record in Scranton, PA, happened right after the official station moved from a park in the city to the tarmac of the airport about 10 miles south.   What a crock! The Southeast had its mildest summer in decades! Fewer hurricanes, too!!! Get your facts straight and when 100% of the scientific communities agree about the globe warming… then get back to me!!!

Look at everything in nature..it runs on a cycle of up and down.
To assume the biggest thing in nature (The Earth) stays at a constant and steady temperature is to ignore all past observations of nature in action.

October 13, 2021 It was 82 freaking degrees here in NE Ohio. Broke a record.
A full 10 degrees higher than the average for this day. It’s rare we get above 72 on this date.  Mary L Graves

In a 6-year period, with a 125-year database, the odds of having the hottest event would be <10% per county.  That just means by simple role of the dice you would have little over 300 per any 6 years naturally. Not 1500. It gets more complex because of course the odds of one county breaking records and not its immediate neighbors is extremely rare.

as is now being experienced, could be a sign of an impending ice age and could actually increase the amount of ice on the earth’s surface.”

It’s called GLOBAL warming, not REGIONAL warming.

Regardless, climate change is the better name, anyway.

Other areas of the world are colder than usual, but that is not being advertised for some reason… Ever wonder why not?  Probably true but if you go back for the last twelve thousand years it was probably colder on average each year and if you go to the next twelve thousand years it’s going to get hotter again it’s a natural cycle you stupid fucks.

What temperature should it be? How do you know what the ideal temperature is? How do you know it’s man made and not cyclical variations from the sun? Did you know Mars has had similar temperature changes as well? The temperature changes, that’s what it’s done for eons now.

Dr. Judith Curry  is an American climatologist and former chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Her research interests include hurricanes, remote sensing, atmospheric modeling, polar climates, air-sea interactions, climate models, and the use of unmanned aerial vehicles for atmospheric research.

Climatologist Dr. Judith Curry explains ‘climate change’ in 5 minutes – ‘Climate change is a grand narrative…has become the dominant cause of societal problems’

Dr. Curry: “Climate change is a grand narrative in which man-made climate change has become the dominant cause of societal problems. Everything that goes wrong reinforces the conviction that there is only one thing we can do to prevent societal problems – stop burning fossil fuels.” …

“According to the IPCC, there is not yet evidence of changes in the global frequency or intensity of hurricanes, droughts, floods or wildfires.  In the U.S., the states with by far the largest population growth are Florida and Texas, which are warm, southern states.  Property along the coast is skyrocketing in value.  Personal preference and market value do not yet regard global warming as ‘dangerous.’”
It’s cyclical. Let’s stop acting like the earth can’t handle a few humans to temporarily run amok. We’ll be long gone before the earth is. The ego some people have is amazing.
What about the other 50%? I assume we are excluding those northern states that were hit by heat waves over 110 degrees in the early 1930’s, right?

Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi to open in 2022.

The cultural landmark in the UAE capital, which includes a synagogue, a church and a mosque, is meant to be a beacon of understanding and peaceful coexistence, inspired by the Document on Human Fraternity.

The Abrahamic Family House, which encloses a synagogue, a church and a mosque in a single complex, and which is scheduled to be inaugurated in 2022, is 20 percent complete, the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity (HCHF) said in a statement on Tuesday.  The  Committee, which is also supervising the project , said it is inspired by the 2019 Document on Human Fraternity.  Constructed on Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, the project is closely followed by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayeb of al-Azhar, who endorsed the design, the HCHF said.

The  Abrahamic Family House derives its name from the Old Testament biblical figure, Abraham, who is recognized and greatly revered by Jews, Christians and Muslims.

The Abrahamic Family House’s design, by architect Sir David Adjaye, captures. the values shared by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, through three main buildings, including a mosque, a church, and a synagogue in one place. “As such, the complex innovatively recounts the history and builds bridges between human civilizations and heavenly messages.”

The names of the three separate iconic houses of worship in the Abrahamic Family House complex are officially unveiled as “Imam AlTayeb Mosque,” “St. Francis Church,” and “Moses Ben Maimon Synagogue”.   Moses ben Maimon was a prolific and influential Sephardic Jewish philosopher of the Middle Ages.

Interfaith harmonious coexistence.
Besides the 3 places of worship, the site includes a cultural center that aims to encourage people to exemplify human fraternity and solidarity within a community that cherishes the values of mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, while the unique character of each faith is preserved.

A virtual model of the future Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi.
The design of the Abrahamic Family House was first unveiled by Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, at a global gathering in New York in 2019, during the 2nd meeting of the HCHF. IT said the design was also presented to Pope Francis and the Grand Imam during a meeting with them in November that year.

1st anniversary of Document on Human Fraternity.
“The Abrahamic Family House epitomizes interfaith harmonious coexistence and preserves the unique character of each religion,” said Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture Abu Dhabi and an HCHF member. He said, “It personifies Abu Dhabi’s vision for human fraternity and embeds coexistence into the already diverse cultural fabric of the UAE. Overseeing the development of this iconic project is inspiring and reflective of the UAE efforts in realizing the values of the Document on Human Fraternity and fostering its lofty principles.”

The Document on Human Fraternity.
He explained that the names of the three houses of worship recognize the work of the Grand Imam, Pope Francis and Moses Ben Maimon, and “harnesses their teachings to forge a message of goodwill for future generations around the world”.

The “Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace and Living Together”,  simply called the Document on Human Fraternity, was signed on February 4, 2019, by Pope Francis and the Grand Imam during the Pope’s visit to Abu Dhabi.

Cultural landmark.
In the spirit of this Document, the Abrahamic Family House complex will welcome all visitors wishing to worship, learn and engage in dialogue. In addition, it will offer a variety of daily programmes and activities and will host international conferences and world summits that feature harmonious coexistence within communities. “As a place for learning, dialogue and worship,” the HCHF said, “the Abrahamic Family House will be a cultural landmark and an inspiring global symbol that epitomizes the shared values of harmonious coexistence and understanding among the three Abrahamic faiths of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.”

The supervisors of the project said that during the design phases of the houses of worship, members of religious communities worldwide have been engaged and consulted to ensure consistency with and adherence to the respective religion’s requirements and teachings.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki accused of violating Hatch Act.

Stupid Personified

Jen Psaki Defends Rising Prices: ‘Good Thing’ Because it Means
‘More People are Buying Goods’

Tell me you don’t understand basic economics without telling me you don’t understand basic economics. You’ll tell me how communism is good and why it is a good thing.. Oh..  She’s right! A global pandemic shut us down & everyone complained. Now that the pandemic is under some control, we’re back to working again, in school again, people are buying stuff again.
It happens, it’s worldwide, stop complaining. Face with rolling eyes

The slide began the first day of Biden’s residency, signing all those exec orders given to him by his handlers. Since then it’s been a punishing success.  You’re talking about demand/shortages. Inflation in the US is directly tied to the value of the dollar. It is tied DIRECTLY to global supply chain shortages. Impacting shipping, energy, chips, steel, etc.

Someone doesn’t understand how world reserve currencies work.
The entire Global economy is hooked into America. It’s part of American hegemony. If we catch a cold the rest of the world starts sneezing as well.
Not quite worldwide, but it’s because the entrenched elite using the pandemic as an excuse to pay themselves and their friends trillions from public treasuries was not solely a US phenomenon.

In Ireland, they we have their highest inflation since 2008 but yes keep thinking ye are the only ones affected. No one is denying it’s not worldwide. The problem is most governments treated the COVID-19 problem using the same prescription. Shut everything down and send out endless amounts of cash. Now we are surprised to find productivity has dropped and millions of jobs go unfilled?

Completely irrelevant. America’s prices are due to extremely poor policies, creating a welfare state, and forcing mandates ruining job numbers. But that’s not an excuse for not understanding it.. or the damage it can do.  “In the end the Party would announce that two and two made five, and you would have to believe it. It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it.” ~Orwell

image.png

This simply isn’t true; the US inflation rate is far higher than that of Europe’s largest economies, as well as the average of all the developed nations belonging to the OECD. But even if it was true, it wouldn’t make Psaki’s statement any less ignorant.

https://data.oecd.org/price/inflation-cpi.htm

image.png
She does, she is there for the people living in a false reality to cope with the insanity. She is like their security blanket and when reality hits them it’s going to be pure insanity. We ain’t seen nothing yet.

I’ve said this multiple times, but it is very concerning that Jen Psaki does not understand simple economics.  I mean if we’re talking simple economics, inflation is a normal and healthy thing for an economy to go through. Granted at a lower level than we’ve seen (still to be determined if it remains when supply chains normalize). Would you rather have deflation?

Ron Klain is the defacto President

She’s never had a job that wasn’t tied to democratic politics. She’s an economic illiterate. Jen’s not an intellectual powerhouse, she’s just mean and snarky.

I mean if we’re talking simple economics, inflation is a normal and healthy thing for an economy to go through. Granted at a lower level than we’ve seen (still to be determined if it remains when supply chains normalize). Would you rather have deflation?

Clearly someone failed Economics and doesn’t understand basic supply and demand. If you double the amount of dollars in circulation, what should happen to the cost of everything? Are we so stupid that we put up with BS like this as a country? This answer is absurd. Jake should have perp walked her off set for being such an idiot. I know better but one can hope. Things will get much worse and half the country will try to convince the other half we’re okay.

Demand is artificially high because Biden gave everyone $1400 checks, a monthly child tax credit payment, rent free living, subsidized Obamacare, and until recently $1000 per week unemployment. Of course demand is out of whack. It’s a choice made by this administration.  White House goes on the record that they believe inflation is good. When people can’t afford to pay all their bills after buying groceries and gas, remember the White House believes this is a “good thing”.

image.png
Gasoline prices are 42.1%; propane, kerosene, and firewood are up 27.6%; used cars are 24.4%; bacon is 19.3%; other meat is 12.6%.Our supply chain issues and shipping delays are unprecedented. Great progress Jen!

The people occupying the White House don’t have the collective knowledge to run a profitable lemonade stand let alone the entire country.

This is how dumb they trust the American public to be.

She meant “good thing” she isn’t on a low fixed income and it’s a “good thing” the most of the suckers voting for her are guaranteed votes.  It’s sad…these people aren’t smart, but somehow they’re managing to convince a good percentage of people that what’s happening is good for them.

Woman facepalming

Doesn’t anyone else hate how spokes-weasels like Psaki speak so authoritatively about everything- almost like she was in the room and her opinions sought- when really she is just handed a piece of paper and told to defend it? They’re actually taking credit for lower unemployment than at the height of lockdowns they created. They truly do think America is stupid. She is even dumber than Biden and that’s saying a lot.

BullllllllllllPile of pooEconomy 101 Scarcity drives up prices…try reading the economics page! This is why the barges are not unloading. Jen Psaki’s job is to say things that keep people thinking this Regime is trying to run the country instead of trying to break it while they break it. Inflation hurts the working and middle class the most. Psaki knows nothing about that since she has more than most.

Reminds me of Bernie saying communist bread lines were a good thing!

Man facepalming

It’s like they assume everyone knows nothing about the economy This admin wants to bankrupt our nation!

Pouting facePouting facePouting face

Sounds about right. In the grocery business, we’re worried about bottled water and paper shorts again, got cut 90% of our water ordered today. What happens when people panic like always when they can’t wipe their ass?

image.png
“So a year ago, people were in their homes…Gas prices were low because nobody was driving.” I’m sorry, gas prices were low because the USA was energy independent. #EmptyShelvesJoe#EmptyShelvesBiden

Yes, yes, that’s exactly what it means. You raise the price and more people are buying. Businesses have had this wrong the entire time. Instead of a 30% off it should be a 30% above price limited time offer. Why have they not thought of it this entire time?!!?!

The fact that she believes we are falling for that is frankly hilarious.  If she truly believes this, she’s dumber than a sack of ball-peen hammers and should not be in the position she’s holding. This is what happens when people in power have never worked in the private sector. Actually, government handouts are driving demand not employment. The “low” unemployment numbers don’t count underemployed or those that have given up looking for work. Wait until mandate unemployment kicks in – worst is yet to come.
If she doesn’t believe this, she’s lying to the American public and should not be in the position she’s holding.  yeah that’s not what it means. it should concern a lot of people that this administration cant understand basically an intro to econ class question… literally first day shit. yes it is healthy, but not run away from inflation.

image.png
There is no inflation. @PressSec :    Ok there is a bit of inflation but it’s transitory.
Ok there is inflation, a lot. But we can fix it. Inflation is actually good.

Rising prices have multiple causes: Supply shortage, increased demand, increased money supply. We have a supply shortage and we have increased money supply. @PressSec says it is in demand?
Dunning–Kruger effect – Wikipedia

Remember when they bragged about hot dogs going down .16 cents? Guess that was our cue that we should have started stocking up.
That isn’t how it works at all. People always buy gasoline. Rising gas prices doesn’t mean “oh good, people are buying gas.”
That woman is the feces of when shame devours too much stupidity.

Socialism: Up is down.

Hot is cold. East is west. Etc.

with this spectacularly unqualified and inept administration.
Every single Republican ad: “Joe Biden’s White House said that your increased grocery and energy costs are a good thing.

Inflate The Problem

Elizabeth Warren Proposes Replacing Government-Created Problem With New, Bigger Government-Created Problems.

“The government’s meddling and interference has inflated prices and saddled our young people with debt,” Warren announced to a crowd of supporters, “but with even more interference, I can inflate prices even more and eventually build up an unimaginable debt shared by all American people.”
Warren has announced a number of new taxes that could have a punitive effect on the economy but definitely won’t cover the costs of her proposal. Her hope is that by pumping more and more money into the problem, she can make it larger and larger, costing more and more while providing less and less value, until it’s a new entitlement dominating a large percentage of government spending and further accelerating the national debt.
“This makes me hopeful for the future,” said Elizabeth Warren supporter Lindsay Porter.
“By the time my daughter is grown up, the problem will be so large that it will be a dominant issue for her to campaign on and try to fix. But if she’s anything like Elizabeth Warren, she’ll find a way to make the problem so large it will simply be unimaginable to people today.”

Democrats Announce Lockdowns Can Be Lifted
Now That We’ve Defeated The True Virus: Trump
By Ayelet Sheffey

“Get out there and celebrate Restaurant Week starting January 25th,” urged Mayor Muriel Bowser of Washington, DC. “As of January 20th, the Trump-2016 virus has been contained, it is now safe to be out in public in this fine city which has some of the finest restaurants in the country.”
Mayor Lori Lightfoot of Chicago echoed a similar sentiment this week also when she called on bars and restaurants to open “as quickly as possible.”
“There is literally zero chance of an outbreak of Trump-2016 happening in any of our safe, clean, and highly regulated bars and restaurants in the great city of Chicago,” Mayor Lightfoot added.
Governor Gavin Newsom of California, and Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York, both chimed in that now that coronavirus cases are hitting an all-time high that it was now the perfect time to lift onerous stay-at-home orders and lockdown protocols.
At publishing time, scientists were already warning about the looming threat of the Trump-2016 virus mutating into Trump-2024, but assured the nation that experts were doing everything in their power to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Biden just released a plan to protect Americans’ retirements and savings from the ‘urgent and systemic risk’ of the climate crisis.

Biden unveiled a plan on Friday to mitigate the economic risks the climate crisis poses.
The report outlines strategies to protect Americans’ savings and retirements from climate-related risks.
This follows a May executive order analyzing how the climate crisis impacts the US financial systems.
President Joe Biden has made clear that acting on the climate crisis is a top priority for his administration – and he also wants to ensure Americans’ wallets aren’t being hurt in the process.
On Friday, Biden unveiled a 40-page report, entitled “A Roadmap to Build a Climate-Resilient Economy,” which focuses on mitigating the financial risks climate change places on people’s retirements, pensions, savings, and more. This follows up on an executive order the president signed in May, which was dedicated to analyzing and mitigating the risk the climate crisis poses to homeowners, businesses, consumers, and the government.

Over the past few years, the US has been hit with a number of extreme weather events,
like Texas’ huge winter storm in February that caused the state’s entire power grid shut down. Those events have cost Americans more than $600 billion, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Friday’s report, along with May’s executive order, would work to prevent that.
“If this year has shown us anything, it’s that climate change poses an ongoing urgent and systemic risk to our economy and to the lives and livelihoods of everyday Americans, and we must act now,” Gina McCarthy, the White House national climate adviser, told reporters.
Specifically, the report outlines a “whole-of-government” approach to promoting the resilience of the US financial system to climate-related risks, protecting life savings and pensions, incorporating climate related financial risk into federal lending, like mortgages, and building more resilient infrastructure.
The report says government agencies such as the Labor Department, Treasury, and Dept. of Veterans Affairs will work to develop tools to mitigate the financial risks across sectors, and they will be releasing subsequent details in coming months.

Biden pledged during his campaign to reduce fossil fuel usage, and he is pushing for Democrats’ $3.5 trillion social-spending bill to be passed, which includes investments to combat the climate crisis, such as green affordable housing. While there’s no question on the urgency of the crisis, though, Bank of America economist Ethan Harris wrote in a Friday note that actions addressing the climate will likely hurt economic growth “during the transition from a dirty to green economy” because workers will need to move from one sector to another.
But in the long-term, as Harris noted, the stunted economic growth will be well worth it.
The United Nations in August released a harrowing report saying some of global warming’s effects will be “irreversible for centuries to millennia,” emphasizing how there’s no time to wait when it comes to addressing climate change.
“We are clear-eyed to how climate change poses a systemic risk to our economy,” National Economic Council deputy director Bharat Ramamurti said on the press call. “We are taking a precautionary approach that reflects the fact that inaction is not an option.”

The Truth About What’s Really Happening With America’s

Supply Chain and Hundreds of Unloaded Ships

 October 14, 2021

As you know, the mainstream media, the Biden Administration, and countless others are lying to you about what’s happening with America’s supply chain.

So we decided to share something that we believe is accurate and spot on with what’s happening in this debacle of our system.

The NEWS says the California port situation is caused by a driver shortage.

Not so fast: It is in part caused by a California Truck Ban which says all trucks must be 2011 or newer and a law called AB 5 which prohibits Owner Operators.

Traditionally the ports have been served by Owner Operators (non union). California has now banned Owner Operators.

Long term, truckers in California are not investing in new trucks because California has a law that makes them illegal in 2035. The requirement is to purchase electric trucks which do not exist.

And in the words of Paul Harvey, “Now you know the rest of the story.”

BUSINESS CARB that began blocking certain trucks’ DMV registrations in 2020.

Carriers domiciled in California with trucks older than 2011 model, or using engines manufactured before 2010, will need to meet the Board’s new Truck and Bus Regulation beginning in 2020 or their vehicles will be blocked from registration with the state’s DMV, the state has said.

The new “health-based requirements” will need to be met before a driver is allowed to register his or her truck through the Department of Motor Vehicles, CARB says. A new enforcement tool used by the DMV beginning in 2020 will automatically block 2010 and older trucks from registration.

10 Climate Change Myths Debunked.
Nothing stirs up debate more than the issue of climate change.

There are three schools of thought on this matter:
1) “It’s happening, and we better do something about it ASAP.”
2) “It’s not settled science so we should wait and see.”
3) “Do I need an umbrella today?”

In other words, you have the believersdeniers, and those not really thinking all that much about it.  Let’s stipulate for further reading that this post will take the “believer” approach (A.K.A. the convergence of evidence presented by science). If you’re looking for a way to join in on the conversation and want to take on the skeptics (global warming skeptics AKA deniers… not to be confused with those who practice scientific skepticism), then embracing a few of these debunked myths will make you the smartest person in the room – or Facebook.

Myth #1: “Baby, It’s Cold Outside, So Case Closed”
Here’s the big thing most people get tripped up on – the difference between climate and weather. Weather is what’s happening outdoors today. It’s going to change tomorrow. Cold, hot, humid, snow, rain – those are all current potential weather conditions that taken as a whole create climate. In other words, climate is the average weather pattern based on years of collected data. So, what’s the climate trend based on current data? That would be warming.

Evidence for a warming climate
Source: http://nca2014.globalchange.gov/highlights/report-findings/our-changing-climate#tab1-images

Ironically, the global warming that impacts the frozen Arctic Sea could be influencing the jet stream with cooler air. Just because ice melts doesn’t mean it’s going to be hot air.  If you have a big now storm in Canada and you say, “So much for global warming!“, then you need to brush up on your understand of weather VS climate.

Myth #2: “Climate Has Always Changed” You are correct.
The Earth’s climate naturally changes when left alone.
The key phrase there is, “when left alone.”
The problem with today’s climate change (see above) is that a human factor drives its rapid increase. Therefore, it’s not being left alone. We’re creating vast amounts CO2 released into the atmosphere and causing the much-maligned greenhouse effect. This is the first time in human history when you can trace back those warming trends to human activity.  It’s important to note the rapid rate of warming.  Yes, kids, its science.

Myth #3: “People Like It Warmer Than Cold Ergo Climate

Change Is Good” Don’t get caught up in the weather vs. climate issue.
Yes, the majority of individuals on the planet might prefer warmth to cold. However, with that warmth also comes the potential for increased flooding along the coast and droughts further inland. That can have a direct impact on two vital commodities: real estate and food. According to the EPA, “Changes in temperature, amount of carbon dioxide (CO2), and the frequency and intensity of extreme weather could have significant impacts on crop yields.”
Effect of Climate Change on agriculture
Source: https://www3.epa.gov/climatechange/impacts/agriculture.html

Myth #4: “Plants Need CO2 Which Means We’re Helping Them ”
Not quite. While it is true that plants require CO2 to flourish, too much CO2  can actually cause those same plants great harm. Even crops will become less nutritious when bombarded with high levels of CO2. For the sake of your next salad, ride a bike or take a bus.  Still not convinced?  Here’s 6 pieces of evidence to consider:
CO2 enhanced plants require extra water to maintain their larger growth as well as to compensate for greater moisture evaporation.
Our methods of agriculture do not self-fertilize, so more artificial fertilizers will be required, ultimately increasing the price of food.
If the concentration of CO2 is too high, there’s a reduction in photosynthesis in certain plants.  With wheat, for example, it also reduces the nutritional quality.
Increased CO2, as mentioned earlier, does provide a boost in growth, but this is limited by the nitrogen plateau, which truncates this benefit.
Many plants’ chemistry changes, making them more vulnerable to insects.
Finally, added CO2 will likely shrink the range available to plants while increasing the size of deserts.  Tropical, forest, and grasslands will try to migrate towards the poles.  Unfortunately, it does not follow that soil conditions will necessarily favor their growth even at optimum temperatures.

Myth #5: “The Debate about Climate Change Is Unsettled”
You’ll often hear the number 97% bantered about concerning climate change. That refers to 97% of scientists supporting that climate change is happening and is being accelerated by humans. Actually, when you dig into the numbers, you’ll find that 100% of all scientists agree that humans are contributing to changes in climate. The debate (or that missing 3%) has to do with what kind of impact that change will have on the planet.
Here’s the thing about peer review science: It is peer reviewed. That means a majority of like-minded scientists take a look at a paper or research and deem it quantifiable. If you want to get wonky, then try dig into Quantifying the Consensus on Anthropogenic Global Warming in the Scientific Literature.  Enjoy.

Ok, it’s long.  Here’s the TLDR; The public perception of a scientific consensus on AGW is a necessary element in public support for climate policy (Ding et al 2011). However, there is a significant gap between public perception & reality, with 57 percent of the US public either disagreeing or unaware that scientists overwhelmingly agree earth is warming due to human activity (Pew 2012).

Myth #6: “You Can’t Trust Climate Scientists Because They’re Just Cashing In On Fear” Let’s go to the Government Accountability Office.
This is the group who follows the money. They found that although spending increased between 1993 and 2004 for climate change related projects, most of that money when towards conservation programs. The money that went into actual research dropped from 56% to 39%. So, if you’re a scientist hoping to score a big grant to check temperatures, it probably isn’t going to happen.

Myth #7: “It’s the Sun’s Fault”
“The planet’s heat comes from the sun, so it’s the sun’s fault that things are getting warmer.” That sounds logical but let’s go to the scientific data backing up those claims. Crickets. As in, there isn’t any statistically significant trend in tracking cosmic rays. Nice try.

Blame it on the Sun. After all, it's warm, right?
Source:  NASA

Raymond Bradley of UMass, who has studied historical records of solar activity imprinted by radioisotopes in tree rings and ice cores, says regional rainfall seems to be more affected than temperature.  “If there is indeed a solar effect on climate, it is manifested by changes in general circulation rather than in a direct temperature signal.”  This fits in with the conclusion of the IPCC and previous NRC reports that solar variability is NOT the cause of global warming over the last 50 years.

Myth #8: “It Was Way Warmer During Medieval Times”
There are a few deniers who like to assert “studies” that show that it was a lot warmer during medieval times. Perhaps there were a few letters written by knights complaining of how stuffy it was in all that armor. However, any true data presented is based on mere conjecture. Plus, that date would be focused on just a few regions and not the entire planet. You know, all those places weren’t even “discovered” during Medieval times.
Here’s the thing:  the Medieval Warm Period was not a global phenomenon. Warmer conditions were concentrated in certain regions. Some regions were even colder than during the Little Ice Age. To claim the Medieval Warm Period was warmer than today is to narrowly focus on a few regions that showed unusual warmth. However, when we look at the broader picture,
we see that the Medieval Warm Period was a regional phenomenon with other regions showing strong cooling.
You want data?  Skeptical Science has it.

Now let’s compare it to today (or close to “today”).  The image below demonstrates the surface temperature anomaly for the period 1999 to 2008, relative to the 1961– 1990 reference period. Gray areas indicate regions where adequate temperature data are unavailable (NOAA).

Myth #9: “Even If It Is A Problem It Will Cost Too Much To Fix”
Try taking that same approach to replacing your brake pads. There is no denying that making a total switch to renewable energies is going to cost a lot of money in the short term. However, the long-term impact of inaction could end up being far more costly.  Not to mention, the economic gains that come from innovation and development of new energy systems in the industrial, commercial, and residential spaces.

Myth #10: “China Isn’t Doing Anything, So We Shouldn’t Either”
Actually, China is doing something about climate change. This notion that the U.S. shouldn’t do anything because the rest of the world is still polluting borders on the juvenile. When you do take a strong position, others will follow. It’s called leadership as the number one country in the world.
The facts are in. Scientific proof does support claims that climate change is real. As believers it’s not only important to reduce our own carbon footprints, but to spread the word about climate change and climate change initiatives.  What are you going to do to help the planet? Are you a believer now?

Climate change is an obvious myth – how much more evidence do you need?
Climate change is merely amplified by man’s actions…

True climate change is driven by the earth’s orbit, wobbles, and wiggles.
Many people just refuse to accept the facts that surround them, even if we saw 100 more years of it plain and apparent

Climate change is a myth. We all know this, deep down. Some of you reading this may have been taken in by the fear-mongering governments or corrupt scientists so have been brainwashed into thinking climate change is a real thing that “threatens all of humanity” or some other nonsense, but it’s just that: nonsense. When you look closely at it, the so-called evidence for climate change, or “global warming” or “warmageddon” or “planetary death spiral” or whatever they’re calling it these days, it doesn’t stand up to scrutiny.
Take changes in sea level. They keep banging on about how the warming of the atmosphere causes rising sea levels, but if that was happening we’d have seen it by now! It’s been countless decades since they first started predicting this, but here we still are! But they persist in trying to convince us it’s a real threat, citing places that were supposedly “lost to the waves” and we’re supposed to believe that places like Atlantis, Miami or Skegness actually existed? You believe that rubbish and you probably believe we landed on Ganymede!

And where does this rise in sea level supposedly come from – melting glacial ice? Like there was at any point massive blocks of ice just floating around in
the ocean? Do you ever leave an ice cube in your drink that lasts longer than five minutes? It melts, and yet we’re meant to believe these “ice caps” lasted  millions of years. They’re not even trying to be convincing any more.

Thwaites Glacier in Western Antarctica. A major ice sheet in western Antarctica
A “sheet”, of “ice”? What’s next; “garlic bread”?
Photograph: HANDOUT/AFP/Getty

And don’t get me started on this supposed food crisis.
Are we supposed to believe this is due to widespread agricultural collapse brought about by climate change
It’s the same with these hypothetical mass extinctions, as if that’s anything to do with climate change. It’s just opportunistic cherry picking by these cynical and manipulative scientists. Harsh fact is, a lot of species go extinct, but that’s just nature. Dinosaurs went extinct millions of years before we humans ever appeared, are we supposed to take the blame for that too? Doesn’t mean I’m happy that we lost the elephants, tigers, pandas, salamanders, cows and poodles, but I don’t feel guilty about it either.
People tell me cows were once bred domestically. Can you imagine? This was supposedly stopped because they caused significant environmental damage due to methane and deforestation, but we all know it was orchestrated by the synthetic meat companies. They obviously got rid of all cattle to ensure their current global dominance. Just think; if they hadn’t killed all the cows, we’d still be slaughtering them today!

Then there’s this “extreme weather” nonsense. I’ve not noticed any changes in the weather outside of the norm. Clueless climate change believers keep telling me it’s a global change so that doesn’t mean anything, but I LIVE ON THE GLOBE, so I’d notice any changes wouldn’t I? Duh! But there haven’t been any changes, obviously. There are no more storms now than there was when I was a kid. I barely get struck by lightning more than once a month, maybe every three weeks at most, and it’s never done me any harm and I’ll kill anyone who says otherwise!
But it’s with these weather worries that these manipulative scientists really give the game away. Urging us to use more wind power but complaining about all the hurricanes we keep having? They got us all to convert to solar power decades ago but keep whining about prolonged sunny spells?

MAKE YOUR MINDS UP!
Some of them even go so far as to say it’s climate change that’s causing forced migration of millions of people. But that’s clearly because everyone has solar cars and jetpacks and matter transporters now, so why would they stay in one place, with or without devastating environmental damage spurring them on.
It’s all a bit convenient, isn’t it, all this palaver over climate change? Weird how 99.9999% of all scientists purportedly agree that it’s definitely happening and our most powerful quantum computers are certain to over a million decimal places that it’s our fault?
Weird how they’re saying this now, at exactly the same time when they need all the volunteers they can get for the moon and Mars colonies. What’s more likely; that human industrial activity actually does lead to climate change, or that it’s all a massive meticulous centuries-long ruse to convince people that leaving Earth is a good idea?
Obviously, it’s the latter. These scientists have no shame or respect.
I can’t say I’m not tempted to go myself, though. I’d rather live on another planet, than on one where every aspect of your life is subject to rigorous scientific control. Nobody should have to put up with that crap.
Dean Burnett doesn’t actually agree with any of the claims in this piece, but don’t let that stop you commenting or shouting at him on Twitter @garwboy

Vaccines are Viruses

new coronavirus variant has been detected in Louisiana.

The EVT Viral Genomics and Sequencing Lab at Louisiana State University Health Shreveport detected a new COVID-19 variant last week. KSLA reports.
The variant — called B.1.630 — was found in two samples collected in Baton Rouge.
The variant reportedly has the E484Q mutation, which means it could escape the immune system and cause infection, per KSLA.
Jeremy Kamil, an associate professor of microbiology and immunology at LSU Health Shreveport, told NOLA.com that the variant isn’t an immediate health threat.
“This is mostly academic curiosity,” he said.
Dr. Krista Queen, the director of viral genomics and surveillance for the Center of Excellence for Emerging Viral Threats at LSUHS, said the vaccine is recommended to combat this new variant.
“Even though the predominance of this variant is low, we will continue to keep an eye on it and watch for any changes or if it starts to increase,” she told KSLA. “Any lineage or sub-lineage of SARS-CoV-2 with this E484Q mutation is watched because of the possibility of immune evasion. Some of the variants that do not have other mutations that increase transmissibility will eventually die out, but it is important to monitor any changes in abundance.”
The B.1.630 variant was first found in the United States back in March 2021. It does not have a Greek alphabet designation like the delta or lambda variant because it has not spread far yet.
New variants have struggled to spread because of the delta variant, which has become the dominant variant across the world. In fact, most recent COVID-19 variants “pale in comparison” to the delta variant, said Dr. Amesh Adalja, senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security.
“Delta is the dominant variant, in all of these other variants kind of pale in comparison when it comes to their ability to infect,” Adalja said on Hill.TV’s “Rising” program.
“And that’s what matters to this virus — just finding more people to infect, and delta is crowding all of the others out,” he added.
Adalja said that the new COVID-19 variants tend to show up and leave pretty quickly because there are fewer hosts to infect.
“What we’re finding is yes, there are other variants that occur even in the United States, but when it comes to delta, because it is so much more fit, because it is so much more efficiently transmitted, these other variants kind of come and go but they never get a toehold because it’s just kind of simple Darwinian natural selection,” he said.

Is the stuck vaccine plan, step one on the dependency blueprint? Only when people are weak and aware of economic inabilities, will it be possible to usher in a radical “transformation” of society, a “revolution” This revolution—you’ve heard it, will be the prelude to communism.

Covid-19 is surging in Waterford, Ireland where 99.7 percent of adults are Fully Vaccinated… – CITIZEN FREE PRESS

Scotland has a widespread problem of metabolic disease, dating back decades, resulting from poor dietary choices. That seems to set you up for immune weakness that a vaccine cannot counteract. Why In 2020, Scotland recorded the highest number of peacetime excess deaths since 1891, when the country was hit by an outbreak of the Russian flu.
Vaccines have destroyed their immune Systems, thus causing an increased rate of mortality. Too much whisky. Those Scottish livers gave up.

Clearly this is a rhetorical question.

Ireland is 92% vaccinated and has currently twice the cv incidence rate of the rest of Europe. Why ?

That’s a myth that’s already been debunked. The unjabbed are not killing anyone you are killing yourselves.

The treatments diminish cellular immunity. This leaves people susceptible to many things including cancer. And that’s on top of the clotting issues, heart issues, neurological issues, and a cascade of ills in the body. Don’t disbelieve it at all, but have you a link for that data please? I’ve been tracking England and Wales ACM and think it’s running between 12 and 14% up on 5YE, although

It’s not ‘87%.’ They may have used statistical ‘leniencies’ to get to that number to ‘put out there’ but if it were true then you could also statistically say that the 13% are ‘entirely’ union workers because they make up 13% of the population or something. It’s simply not true.

Stop the World, I want to get off!

Must be that terrible “climate change” that’s killing Scots?, oh wait a minute, the climate hasn’t changed in Scotland + none of their bs climate scare predictions have ever come true in decades.. When the Gulf Stream shuts down, you guys are supposed to get covered with a mile of ice. But at the rate the place is warming you won’t get that. No nothing is due to happen to the climate until October 31st.

Then all hell will break loose Flushed faceFace with rolling eyes

Talk to me in ten years and tell me how it’s a hoax.
The culprit of this lies in the only true consensus that everyone in the international scientific world agrees on! THE ORIGIN OF THE VIRUS. Find the true origin, and this house of cards will fall apart. Forget the war between vaxx, anti-vaxx, statistics, cases and sadly deaths!

The experiment is not working to alert the immune system but to debilitated, vaxx people looking to take out of their body searching natural ways. You have to be sleepy if you think rich people are interested in making you feel good in this world, we are just replaceable numbers.   I think it’s the residual effects of the lockdowns. Unfortunately, these higher rates will continue for decades, where after a while the new normal will just be people dying a decade earlier than they would have, even 50+ years from now.

Good question. That’s because injections increase the risk of death.
They mess up with our health in many different ways, starting from switching off the immune system, ending with injecting foreign bodies – lipid nanoparticles/hydrogels, that have never been tested in humans.  Everybody knows why!

The list is long but many fundamentals of a healthy happy life have been removed to supposedly contend with the only thing that is of any consequence – covid-19. A disease so deadly they have to couch its effect in an obscure, meaningless, “28 day” caveat stat.

Maybe, because there has been an increase in whiskey and alcohol consumption – but not many people know alcohol kills vitamin D in their body which is the metaphorical “steroid” for an effective immune system, hence when they catch something nasty there is nothing to fight it.   The 5 year average is an underestimate, you have to extrapolate because death rates typically rise year by year (except in certain circumstances). 30% is a lot though, I wouldn’t be surprised if the extrapolated estimate was also surpassed.

When the death rate goes UP and the Entire world is not just suggesting but actively MANDATING vaccines, in some countries threatening jail, large fines etc. You gotta start asking questions and not simply follow blindly? Problem is a lot of people have already injected this test. All cause deaths Germany for 2018 (extreme flue-year) 2020 and 2021.

2020 no vaccines, 2021 vaccinating as many as possible.

Importance of Inter-Religious Harmony (voa.gov)
Interfaith cooperation among religious communities around the world
is a powerful counterbalance to hate, violence, and injustice, said U.S. Ambassador-at-large for International Religious Freedom David Saperstein. This is especially true in countries afflicted by sectarian violence. In Kenya, for example, when Islamist gunmen suspected to be al-Shabaab attacked a bus in December 2015 and demanded that Christians and Muslims be separated, the driver of the bus said that the Muslims on board refused to be separated from their fellow Christian travelers.
They told the militants to kill them all or leave them alone – which incredibly the gunmen in the main did. Yet one man, Salah Farah, was injured while shielding Christians from the attack and later died. His brother Rashid told the media that he hoped Salah’s example would encourage Kenyans to live as one community and promote religious harmony. In Israel there are examples of peace-building through interfaith education that schools like the Tabeetha School in Jaffa or the six Hand in Hand schools in cities all across Israel, provide to Jewish, Muslim, Druze and Christian students.

In Turkey, members of Istanbul’s tiny Greek Orthodox community, visitors from neighboring Greece and other faithful attended an Epiphany service led by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, the spiritual leader of the world’s Orthodox Christians in Istanbul, where the Patriarchate is based. A ceremony to bless the waters was also held in Izmir, Turkey’s third-largest city. It was the first “official” Epiphany ceremony there since the Greco-Turkish War ended in 1922 triggering a population exchange between Greece and Turkey. Although the Greek Consulate in Izmir had organized a ceremony in 2006, it was the first time the Turkish government both approved and helped to organize it.
“It’s a historic day here and we’re grateful to the local authorities and to the Patriarchate … for making this happen,” Tina Samoglu, secretary of the Izmir Orthodox Community told Greek state TV.” There is a power to be found when we advocate not just for people who share our beliefs, but also for those whose beliefs are profoundly different. When Jews advocate for Christians who are persecuted for their beliefs….when Christians advocate for Buddhists….when Hindus advocate for Muslims….when Muslims advocate for atheists….,” said Ambassador Saperstein. ”When we all recognize that if any one of us is not free to practice our beliefs, then none of us are.”

The vital role of interfaith harmony in preventing violent extremism.
We interviewed Extremely Together Young Leaders Jonah and Hassan on the importance of interfaith dialogue in preventing violent extremism and how to encourage productive discussions.
Young Leaders Jonah Obajeun and Hassan Ndugwa bring young people together to prevent violent extremism in Nigeria and Uganda.
Jonah set up the Tolerance Academy, a peacebuilding boot camp in Nigeria. The academy encourages interfaith and intercultural dialogue by setting up clubs in schools and creating an educational platform for youth to learn how to diminish their prejudices.

Hassan is the co-founder of the peacebuilding organization Uganda Muslim Youth Development Forum (UMYDF) in Uganda. The UMYDF promotes pluralism and tolerance through dialogues, training and interfaith activities, and research and advocacy.

What does ‘interfaith’ mean?
Jonah: First, I will tell you what interfaith is not, which will help explain what it is. It is not a competition between Islam and Christianity. It is not between Catholic and Sunnis; neither is it a contest between Shia and Pentecostal.
It is not a debate between Anglican and Tijanyyaa. It is not a measure of faith superiority. Interfaith is the positive reinforcement of relationships among all faiths as a social contract between them and their communities.

Interfaith is the positive reinforcement of relationships among all faiths.

Why is interfaith harmony so important to you?
Jonah: For me, I grew up as a Christian, trained by Muslim families.
When I was ten, I went to open forums where Imams (Muslim clergy/religious leaders in mosques, the Islamic place of worship, and in Muslim communities) and other religious leaders would speak. However, instead of dialogue, they would try to convert people to their beliefs.
This experience showed me that open communication is essential to ensure that learners cannot be manipulated or be prejudiced. This was ultimately the reason I set up the Tolerance Academy.
Hassan: In 2010, there was a bombing at the Kyadondo Rugby grounds.
I was there with friends watching Spain play Holland in the World Cup Final. The blast killed 74 people and injured over 75 more. In the days following the attack, I saw that people were blaming Muslims. We set up the UMYDF in response to these negative prejudiced messages, rather than letting events like the Kyadondo bombing drive a further wedge between the different faith communities in Uganda.

World Interfaith Harmony Week: United Nations Webcast 2013
If someone wants to start an interfaith dialogue, what do they need to know?
Jonah: Before starting an interfaith dialogue, everyone must be open-minded about their own religion and beliefs. This ensures the starting place is one of tolerance and that people are open to learning about others. Additionally, it is vital to be mindful of the labels and terminology you use for your events and interventions. I see that terms such as ‘Countering Violent Extremism’ cause discomfort and raise the alarm for security threats, particularly as this term means different things to different people.
Hassan: I agree. Furthermore, it is crucial to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable. In some of our interfaith dialogues, we have had religious sects that are relatively isolated. Before starting, we consider everyone’s ‘comfort zones.’ We realized it was essential to those who are isolated that we limit any music in the background, which meant they felt more content and thus happy to participate.
Additionally, both Jonah and I see that teaching activists how to lead interfaith dialogues and activities is just as important. We want to ensure dialogue leaders have a sufficient understanding of all doctrines and can use this knowledge to navigate their own biases and participants’ biases.

How do you move from dialogue to action, aka ‘interfaith activities’?
Hassan: At the UMYDF, getting young people engaged in activities where they can share what is important to them in an informal setting is key. This informality gives them the space to build lasting relationships across faith and cultural barriers.

The Bugiri Interfaith Peace Gardens.
For example, we have set up some interfaith peace gardens.
This project aims to create a living symbol of interfaith harmony where young people can discuss, play sports, and interact with each other. The project starts with a gardening fellowship, where young people learn about landscaping and gardening. Then, young people from various religious backgrounds come together to build the garden with corners representing each different religion. By the time the gardens are finished, the participants have made lasting friendships that go beyond faith.
Jonah: The Tolerance Academy adopts a similar approach. We emphasize civic responsibilities rooted in local context and culture while linking to existing social ills such as bullying. I think this makes learning more relevant and relatable to young people.
In addition to dialogues, we educate primary and secondary school children about interfaith harmony, value formation, critical thinking and tolerance. Patterns of thinking develop in early childhood; therefore, giving children the tools to think critically and engage in dialogue will help them become thought-leaders for harmony and tolerance.

What role does personal bias play?
Jonah: Recognizing your biases toward other individuals and groups is the most crucial part of any interfaith activity. At the Tolerance Academy, we connect Muslim students with pastors and young Christians to Imams for an internship. Having done this for over ten years, we have found that 95% of participants strongly discriminate against the other religion before the internship starts.
Hassan: Similarly, the UMYDF has recognized that learning to appreciate our differences involves recognizing one’s biases and the biases that may be present within our communities.  Once we recognize these biases in ourselves, we can take steps to create a more equal and accepting environment.

Once we recognize these biases in ourselves,
we can take steps to create a more equal and accepting environment.
To recognize your biases, you need to have the tools to think critically about the information you see. There are multiple ways to do this. For example, at both the UMYDF and the Tolerance Academy, we use dialogues and interfaith exhibitions to allow young people to showcase important symbols in their respective religions. We also provide critical thinking training for schools.

How can we be ‘Extremely Together’?
Jonah: To create a peaceful and tolerant world, we need to understand
and appreciate each other’s differences. Interfaith dialogues, activities and developing critical thinking can help us identify our implicit biases and prejudices.
Hassan: We should learn from the rich cultures surrounding us and counter extremist narratives that seek to spread division within societies. Our experiences have shown us that young people are eager to learn and understand different religions. If we harness that enthusiasm, we can help prevent violent extremism together.
Keep praying it’s going to be ok. I feel your anxiety & tension. It wakes me up at night but when I calm down I realize these are feelings brought on by evil.

They only have power if we let them.
Together we are stronger. Stand firm love wins.

“Does religion unite or divide us?”
That question was posed to the readers of The Sydney Morning Herald. Of those who responded, the vast majority—some 89 percent—felt that religion divides us.
SUPPORTERS of interfaith, however, view the matter quite differently.
“Show me a religion that doesn’t care about compassion . . . , that doesn’t care about stewardship of the environment . . . , that doesn’t care about hospitality,” asked Eboo Patel, founder of the Interfaith Youth Core.
Indeed, Buddhists, Catholics, Lutherans, Protestants, Hindus, Muslims, and many others have on occasion joined forces to fight poverty, campaign for human rights, work to ban landmines, or draw attention to environmental issues. Multi-faith dialogue circles have participated in efforts to seek mutual understanding and inspiration. They celebrate their diversity with candle-lighting ceremonies, festivals, music, prayers, and so on.

Is the mingling of religions the way to heal the conflict among faiths?
Is interfaith God’s way of bringing about a better world?

UNITY—AT WHAT PRICE?
One of the largest of the interfaith organizations boasts that it has members representing over 200 different faiths and that it is active in 76 countries.
Its declared objective is “to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation.” That, however, has proved to be easier said than done. For example, according to the organizers, their charter had to be carefully worded so as not to offend the many faiths and indigenous groups that signed the document. Why? One factor was that there was disagreement on whether God should be included in the charter. Subsequently, any reference to or mention of God was avoided.
If God is left out of the picture, what role does faith play? Furthermore, how does such an interfaith movement differ from any secular charitable or philanthropic organization?
For good reason, the aforementioned interfaith body describes itself,
not as a religious entity, but as “a bridge-building organization.”

IS PROMOTING GOOD—GOOD ENOUGH?
“All major religious traditions carry basically the same message: that is love, compassion and forgiveness,” says the Dalai Lama, a prominent interfaith proponent. He adds: “The important thing is that they should be part of our daily lives.”
Granted, the value of such virtues as love, compassion, and forgiveness cannot be overemphasized.

In what has been called the Golden Rule,
Jesus said: “All things, therefore, that you want men to do to you, you also must do to them.” (Matthew 7:12

But is true faith just a matter of promoting what is good?
About many who claimed to serve God in his day, the apostle Paul said:
“I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to accurate knowledge.” What was the problem? “Because of not knowing the righteousness of God,” Paul said, they were “seeking to establish their own.” (Romans 10:2, 3) Lacking accurate knowledge of what God wanted them to do, their zeal—and faith—were really in vain.—Matthew 7:21-23.

THE BIBLE’S VIEW OF INTERFAITH
“Happy are the peacemakers,” Jesus said. (Matthew 5:9) Jesus practiced what he preached by promoting nonviolence and taking a message of peace to people of diverse religious backgrounds. (Matthew 26:52) Those who responded were drawn into an unbreakable bond of love. (Colossians 3:14) But was Jesus’ objective merely to build bridges among people of various backgrounds so that they could get along in peace? Did he join with others in their religious practices?
The religious leaders of the sects of the Pharisees and the Sadducees viciously opposed Jesus—even sought to kill him. How did he react? Jesus instructed his disciples: “Let them be. Blind guides are what they are.” (Matthew 15:14)
Jesus refused to acknowledge spiritual brotherhood with such individuals.
Some time later, a Christian congregation was formed in Corinth, Greece—a city renowned for its pluralistic, multi religious culture. How were the Christians there to act in that environment? The apostle Paul wrote to them: “Do not become unevenly yoked with unbelievers.” Why not? Paul reasoned: “What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer share in common with an unbeliever?” Then he gave this counsel: “Therefore, get out from among them, and separate yourselves.”—2 Corinthians 6:14, 15, 17.
Clearly, the Bible speaks against the practice of interfaith. But you might wonder, ‘How, then, can true unity be achieved?’

BUILDING TRUE UNITY
The International Space Station—a technological wonder orbiting the earth—
is the result of the united efforts of some 15 nations. Could you imagine this project being accomplished if the participating nations did not agree on what blueprint to use?
That, essentially, is the situation with the modern-day interfaith movement. Although cooperation and respect are touted, there is no agreed-upon blueprint for building faith. As a result, moral and doctrinal issues remain as divisive as ever.
The Bible contains God’s standards, which are like a blueprint. We can build our lives on what the Bible says. Those who have embraced it have overcome racial and religious prejudices and have learned to work together in peace and unity. Foretelling this, God said: “I will change the language of the peoples to a pure language, so that all of them may call on the name of Jehovah, to serve him shoulder to shoulder.” Unity results from the “pure language,” God’s standard of worship.—Zephaniah 3:9; Isaiah 2:2-4.
Jehovah’s Witnesses cordially invite you to visit a Kingdom Hall near you to see for yourself the remarkable peace and unity that exist among them.—
Psalm 133:1.

Is Truth Relative?
Supporters of interfaith often feel that no religion can lay sole claim to truth.
In fact, they may say that exclusivism among religions is what gives rise to many of the problems we see today.
Contrary to such opinions, Jehovah is described as “the God of truth,” and he said of himself: “I do not change.” (Psalm 31:5; Malachi 3:6) About God, Jesus said: “Your word is truth.” (John 17:17) That truth is revealed in the divinely inspired Scriptures, the Bible. It instructs us and equips us “for every good work.”—2 Timothy 3:16, 17.

Are You Immune After Covid Infection

The reason why Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine doesn’t have a booster shot yet. Herb Scribner – Yesterday 7:00 PM

Breakthrough cases happen when someone who is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 becomes infected with the coronavirus. Most of these cases tend to lead to less severe symptoms and hospitalization, resembling a common cold more than anything.
Ross Kedl, an immunologist at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, told NPR that the virus that comes from a vaccinated person will look different than one from an unvaccinated person.
Vaccinated people often have antibodies from the vaccine. These antibodies “should be coating that virus with antibodies and therefore helping prevent excessive downstream transmission,” Kedl told NPR.
In fact, Kedl said most vaccinated people appear to be infected by unvaccinated people, at least according to case studies that have come out.
“In all these cases where you have these big breakthrough infections, there’s always unvaccinated people in the room,” he told NPR.
Breakthrough cases are becoming increasingly more common among the fully vaccinated, especially because of the highly transmissible delta variant of the coronavirus.
In fact, breakthrough cases are likely to impact thousands of people in the future. Amesh Adalja, a doctor and infectious disease specialist at Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, told Roll Call that most people will be infected with COVID-19 at some point in their lives.
“It’s likely that everybody will probably get infected with COVID-19 (at some point) because it’s an endemic respiratory virus. The goal is to make sure that at that time, that infection occurs after you’ve been vaccinated so it’s mild,” Adalja told Roll Call.
Overall, breakthrough cases remain rare. Unvaccinated people are still at the highest risk of getting infected with the coronavirus. In fact, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data that showed unvaccinated people are five times more likely to be infected with the coronavirus and they have more than 10 times higher chance of dying from COVID-19, according to the CDC.

Vials of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccines sit on a table at the Mountain America Exposition Center in Sandy on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Scientists with the Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday that Moderna did not meet all the criteria necessary for the FDA to support a booster vaccine.
Scientists with the Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday that Moderna did not meet all the criteria necessary for the FDA to support a booster vaccine.
Per Yahoo! News, FDA scientists released new documents that show the Moderna vaccine’s booster shot created antibodies. But the difference in antibody levels before and after the booster shot wasn’t big enough to warrant a booster shot.
In fact, those who already had high antibody levels from the first two-dose regimen did not show signs of increased antibody levels.
So, in a way, the Moderna shot might be too strong already to warrant a booster shot.
John Moore, a professor of microbiology and immunology at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, told Yahoo! News that there are still a number of questions about the Moderna booster shot and what the FDA wants from it.
“There was boosting, sure. Was it enough boosting? Who knows? There’s no standard amount of boosting that is known to be needed, and nor is it clear how much boosting happened in the study,” Moore said.
Unnamed sources recently told Bloomberg that the FDA might suggest a half-dose for the coronavirus booster shot since the original doses of the vaccine were so strong.
The original two-dose regimen from Moderna had two 100-microgram doses.
For comparison, Pfizer’s first shots had two 30-microgram doses.
A half-dose for the booster shot would likely reduce the side effects of the shot, according to Bloomberg. And it would allow Moderna to spread the booster shot more widely throughout the world.
The Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention approved the Pfizer booster shot at the end of September. Questions were immediately raised about what this meant for Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccine recipients.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said on NBC News’ “Meet the Press” recently that the Moderna booster shot will come soon once the right data comes along.
“The actual data that we’ll get (on) that third shot for the Moderna and second shot for the J&J is literally a couple to a few weeks away,” he said. “We’re working on that right now to get the data to the FDA, so they can examine it and make a determination about the boosters for those people.”

Are You Immune After a COVID Infection?
Arthur Allen, Kaiser Health News – Yesterday 8:15 AM

Dr. Aaron Kheriaty, a University of California-Irvine psychiatry professor, felt he didn’t need to be vaccinated against COVID because he’d fallen ill with the disease in July 2020.
So, in August, he sued to stop the university system’s vaccination mandate, saying “natural” immunity had given him and millions of others better protection than any vaccine could.

A judge on Sept. 28 dismissed Kheriaty’s request for an injunction against the university over its mandate, which took effect Sept. 3. While Kheriaty intends to pursue the case further, legal experts doubt that his and similar lawsuits filed around the country will ultimately succeed.
That said, evidence is growing that contracting SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is generally as effective as vaccination at stimulating your immune system to prevent the disease. Yet federal officials have been reluctant to recognize any equivalency, citing the wide variation in COVID patients’ immune response to infection.

RELATED: Sure Signs You May Have Already Had COVID.
Like many disputes during the COVID pandemic, the uncertain value of a prior infection has prompted legal challenges, marketing offers and political grandstanding, even as scientists quietly work in the background to sort out the facts.
For decades, doctors have used blood tests to determine whether people are protected against infectious diseases. Pregnant mothers are tested for antibodies to rubella to help ensure their fetuses won’t be infected with the rubella virus, which causes devastating birth defects. Hospital workers are screened for measles and chickenpox antibodies to prevent the spread of those diseases. But immunity to COVID seems trickier to discern than those diseases.
The Food and Drug Administration has authorized the use of COVID antibody tests, which can cost about $70, to detect a past infection. Some tests can distinguish whether the antibodies came from an infection or a vaccine. But neither the FDA nor the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend using the tests to assess whether you’re, in fact, immune to COVID. For that, the tests are essentially useless because there’s no agreement on the amount or types of antibodies that would signal protection from the disease.
“We don’t yet have full understanding of what the presence of antibodies tells us about immunity,” said Kelly Wroblewski, director of infectious diseases at the Association of Public Health Laboratories. By the same token, experts disagree on how much protection an infection delivers.

RELATED: Dr. Fauci Just Said When to Expect Next Surge

In the absence of certainty and as vaccination mandates are levied across the country, lawsuits seek to press the issue. Individuals who claim that vaccination mandates violate their civil liberties argue that infection-acquired immunity protects them. In Los Angeles, six police officers have sued the city, claiming they have natural immunity. In August, law professor Todd Zywicki alleged that George Mason University’s vaccine mandate violated his constitutional rights given he has natural immunity. He cited a number of antibody tests and an immunologist’s medical opinion that it was “medically unnecessary” for him to be vaccinated. Zywicki dropped the lawsuit after the university granted him a medical exemption, which it claims was unrelated to the suit.
Republican legislators have joined the crusade. The GOP Doctors Caucus, which consists of Republican physicians in Congress, has urged people leery of vaccination to instead seek an antibody test, contradicting CDC and FDA recommendations. In Kentucky, the state Senate passed a resolution granting equal immunity status to those who show proof of vaccination or a positive antibody test.
Hospitals were among the first institutions to impose vaccine mandates on their front-line workers because of the danger of them spreading the disease to vulnerable patients. Few have offered exemptions from vaccination to those previously infected. But there are exceptions.
Two Pennsylvania hospital systems allow clinical staff members to defer vaccination for a year after testing positive for COVID. Another, in Michigan, allows employees to opt out of vaccination if they present evidence of previous infection and a positive antibody test in the previous three months. In these cases, the systems indicated they were keen to avoid staffing shortages that could result from the departure of vaccine-shunning nurses.
For Kheriaty, the question is simple. “The research on natural immunity is quite definitive now,” he told KHN. “It’s better than immunity conferred by vaccines.” But such categorical statements are clearly not shared by most in the scientific community.

RELATED: We’re Virus Experts and Here’s What Happens Next

Dr. Arthur Reingold, an epidemiologist at UC-Berkeley, and Shane Crotty, a virologist at the respected La Jolla Institute for Immunology in San Diego, gave expert witness testimony in Kheriaty’s lawsuit, saying the extent of immunity from reinfection, especially against newer variants of COVID, is unknown. They noted that vaccination gives a huge immunity boost to people who’ve been ill previously.
Yet not all of those pushing for recognition of past infection are vaccine critics or torchbearers of the anti-vaccine movement.
Dr. Jeffrey Klausner, clinical professor of population and public health sciences at the University of Southern California, co-authored an analysis published last week that showed infection generally protects for 10 months or more. “From the public health perspective, denying jobs and access and travel to people who have recovered from infection doesn’t make sense,” he said.
In his testimony against Kheriaty’s case for “natural” immunity to COVID, Crotty cited studies of the massive COVID outbreak that swept through Manaus, Brazil, early this year that involved the gamma variant of the virus. One of the studies estimated, based on tests of blood donations, that three-quarters of the city’s population had already been infected before gamma’s arrival. That suggested that previous infection might not protect against new variants. But Klausner and others suspect the rate of prior infection presented in the study was a gross overestimate.

RELATED: Virus Expert Just Gave “Unfortunate” Warning

A large August study from Israel, which showed better protection from infection than from vaccination, may help turn the tide toward acceptance of prior infection, Klausner said. “Everyone is just waiting for Fauci to say, ‘Prior infection provides protection,'” he said.
When Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top federal expert on infectious diseases, was asked during a CNN interview last month whether infected people were as well protected as those who’ve been vaccinated, he hedged. “There could be an argument” that they are, he said. Fauci did not immediately respond to a KHN request for further comment.
CDC spokesperson Kristen Nordlund said in an email that “current evidence” shows wide variation in antibody responses after COVID infection. “We hope to have some additional information on the protectiveness of vaccine immunity compared to natural immunity in the coming weeks.”
A “monumental effort” is underway to determine what level of antibodies is protective, said Dr. Robert Seder, chief of the cellular immunology section at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. Recent studies have taken a stab at a number.
Antibody tests will never provide a yes-or-no answer on COVID protection, said Dr. George Siber, a vaccine industry consultant and co-author of one of the papers. “But there are people who are not going to be immunized. Trying to predict who is at low risk is a worthy undertaking.”

How much immunity does a prior COVID-19 infection give,
and why isn’t it considered with vaccine mandates?
By Erica Moser   Day staff writer

Oct. 9—Here is a FAQ answering that and other questions The Day has been hearing recently.
How much natural immunity against COVID-19 do people get from a prior infection, and why can’t natural immunity be used to opt out of vaccine and testing mandates?
Doctors and researchers generally agree that people who previously were infected with COVID-19 and also got vaccinated are the most protected. But the science is still evolving on how much immunity prior infection confers — which may depend on the severity of the infection and the coronavirus variant circulating — and how long protection lasts.

“It’s been very difficult to ascertain how the vaccine and natural immunity compare to each other,” Dr. Shira Doron of Tufts Medical Center told NBC10 Boston last month. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention spokesperson Kristen Nordlund recently told NBC News, “We hope to have some additional information on the protectiveness of vaccine immunity compared to natural immunity in the coming weeks.”
In a study released Aug. 6, the CDC looked at Kentucky adults who were infected with the coronavirus in 2020, and people who were and weren’t reinfected in May or June of this year. The study found that unvaccinated people were 2.34 times more likely to be reinfected.
One of the limitations the authors listed is that “persons who have been vaccinated are possibly less likely to get tested. Therefore, the association of reinfection and lack of vaccination might be overestimated.”

That is the opposite of a limitation that Emory University biostatistician Natalie Dean shared about a different study: Previously infected people may be less likely to get tested than vaccinated people because they think they’re immune.
She talked to the journal Science about a study Israeli researchers released in August based on the database of a health care organization that enrolls about 2.5 million Israelis.
Comparing more than 32,000 people who either got their second Pfizer dose or were infected in January or February, one model found the risk of developing symptomatic COVID-19 was 27 times higher among the vaccinated than those with a previous infection, and the risk of hospitalization eight times higher. But the latter was just based on eight hospitalizations among the fully vaccinated and one of a previously infected person.
Using a model that included people who were infected in 2020, the researchers found evidence of waning natural immunity, but the risk of symptomatic disease was still seven times higher for vaccinated but never-infected people.
This study hasn’t yet been peer-reviewed, and the preprint server medRxiv cautions that the medical research “has yet to be evaluated and so should not be used to guide clinical practice.”

Dr. Richard Martinello, medical director for infection prevention for Yale New Haven Health, said more studies will need to be done to confirm the findings. He said we’ve always known people develop immunity after infection, but the question is whether it’s good enough.
Researchers from the Yale School of Public Health analyzed data from close relatives of the COVID-19 virus to model the risk of reinfection over time. They said reinfection “under endemic conditions would likely occur between 3 and 63 months after peak antibody response, with a median of 16 months.”
“Those who have been naturally infected should get vaccinated. Previous infection alone can offer very little long-term protection against subsequent infections,” lead author Jeffrey Townsend said. This study was published in The Lancet Microbe in Oct. 1.
A Cleveland Clinic study released in June, which hasn’t been peer-reviewed, found that 99.3% of employee infections between Dec. 16 and May 15 occurred among those who were unvaccinated and not previously infected. In those five months, COVID-19 didn’t occur among any of the 2,579 previously infected individuals, including 1,359 people who were unvaccinated.

Some organizations in Connecticut responded to questions about why they opted not to allow prior infection as an exemption from vaccine and testing mandates.
“The science on immunity from natural infection with COVID is evolving. Some people develop very strong immunity and others don’t,” Department of Public Health Commissioner Dr. Manisha Juthani said in an email. “Vaccination after getting COVID reliably produces immunity which is why we continue to recommend getting vaccinated despite having had COVID. This recommendation may change over time as we evaluate more scientific data.”
Martinello said Yale New Haven Health didn’t consider natural immunity as an exemption, because natural immunity is not as consistently established as immunity conferred by a vaccine.
A University of California Irvine School of Medicine professor challenged the UC system’s vaccine mandate, saying he had immunity from a prior infection, but a federal judge upheld the vaccine requirement in a ruling on Sept. 30.
The Michigan hospital system Spectrum Health said last month it would grant an exemption from its employee vaccine mandate to people who have a positive PCR or antigen test for COVID-19 plus a positive antibody test from the past three months, The Detroit News reported.
Some other countries accept a certificate of recovery in addition to proof of vaccination or a negative test: For both the EU Digital COVID Certificate and the Green Pass in Israel, a certificate of recovery is valid for six months.

How do school nurses handle students with COVID-19 symptoms?
School nurses here are relying on guidance from DPH, the state Department of Education and Ledge Light Health District.
Addendum 5 from DPH and the education department, which has been revised multiple times, says an individual who has COVID-19 symptoms but hasn’t had close contact with a coronavirus-positive person should stay home, notify the school immediately and get tested.
If at school, “Students should remain masked, adhere to strict physical distancing, be assessed by the school nurse or school medical advisor (if available), stay in the isolation room (with adult supervision), until picked up to go home. Parents should be instructed to consult a healthcare provider and have the student tested.”
Students who test negative can return to school after 24 hours with no fever, or can return without test results if a health care provider “provides documentation with a specific, confirmed alternate diagnosis.”
The addendum has different protocols for close contacts, which depend on vaccination status and whether symptoms are present.
Annie Ryan, nurse at Nathan Hale Arts Magnet School in New London, said that about two weeks ago, she had to send home 17 kids in two days.
“I explain it to the parents,” she said, “and some of them understand, and some of them are screaming in your face, like, ‘Why did you send my kid home, because they just have a cold?'”
Ryan is president of the union that represents nurses for the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut, which supplies nurses for schools in New London, Waterford, East Lyme and Groton.
Maria Kostopoulos, nurse at Clark Lane Middle School in Waterford, said one primary symptom or two secondary symptoms is enough for her to second a kid home. She said primary symptoms are fever, chills, loss of taste or smell, uncontrolled cough and shortness of breath.
Secondary symptoms include things like a sore throat, congestion, runny nose, nausea, headache and fatigue.
“The symptoms are very vague, so it’s hard to figure out who to send home and who not to send home,” Kostopoulos said, “so a lot of it goes if you know these children’s medical history.

Are they prone to allergies?”
“It’s multifaceted, and it’s dealing with families when they’re fragile and scared, and you don’t know what their situations are at home,” she said. Sending kids home is a hardship on parents, especially if they have to wait a few days to get a test scheduled and then a few days to get results.
Kostopoulos said what’s striking is that boards of education “can adopt the policies in their own way, with a little bit of discretion,” so protocols vary from town to town.
“I don’t think there’s a one size fits all (approach),” Lyme-Old Lyme Superintendent Ian Neviaser said. He added, “It really depends on the specific situation. We don’t require, per se, the student to provide a negative COVID test in every situation, because that would be in some cases a little ridiculous.
If a kid has one symptom and it goes away immediately, the chances of them having COVID are pretty slim.”

Where can I get tested?
Ledge Light Health District is offering free COVID-19 testing four days a week at four locations, for symptomatic and asymptomatic people, with no appointment required.
Testing is Tuesdays from 3 to 7 p.m. at the City of Groton Municipal Building, Wednesdays from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Waterford Public Library, Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stonington Human Services and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. at the New London Senior Center.
Uncas Health District and UCFS Healthcare are offering free drive-thru testing at Dodd Stadium in Norwich on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 7 p.m.
Through Yale New Haven Health, people can get tested at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London or Mohegan Sun. To schedule an appointment, visit covidtesting2.ynhhs.org or call (833) 275-9644.
Martinello said when people get tested because they’re sick, the results come back within 24 hours more than 99% of the time.
CVS test scheduling is available at bit.ly/cvscvdtst, but not every site offers rapid testing or testing for asymptomatic people, and appointments may not be available the same day or the next day.

What do I do if I lose my COVID-19 vaccine card?
There are a few options to obtain proof of vaccination, such as contacting your vaccination provider to request a copy. If you got vaccinated through Yale New Haven Health or Hartford HealthCare, you can respectively log on to MyChart or MyChartPLUS to download your vaccination record.
You can log on to the Vaccine Administration Management System, or VAMS, if you scheduled your appointment that way.
Immunization records also are available from the CT Immunization Information System, or CT WiZ, by visiting bit.ly/ctwizportal or calling (860) 509-7929.    e.moser@theday.com

Freedom Over Fear

People that stand up for their beliefs in the face of brainwash, media propaganda and a worldwide peer pressure campaign are the kind of people that you should to look up to.

The “ring” in “Let Freedom Ring” can sometimes be a cannon firing, a call to arms, a church bell, or even just the sound of a flag waving in the wind!!

Freedom Over Fear – American Faith
From tomorrow, millions of workers in Italy who will not be vaccinated will be suspended from work and then licenziati taking the right to work, thanks to the mark of the beast called “green passssss”, all united in prayer for those who defend their rights even at the risk of losing their life, their family, their children

English words for licenziati include dismiss, sack, discharge, shed, cashier, bounce, refuse, deny and bump. Find more Italian words at wordhippo.com!

A dear friend of mine reminds me that I am a total 6 on the enneagram scale.
A 6 is defined as being the loyalist that is engaging, responsible, anxious, and suspicious. I was suspicious that there was more than a virus at play and anxious about how this could all turn out. Before covid-19 cases crossed over to the US, I was watching in horror the atrocities play out in China. I saw people being barricaded in their homes or beaten on the street for not complying with a covid-19 protocol.
As an American living under God and the United States Constitution, my intuition informed me that we were headed in the same direction. I caught discrepancies on MSM and straight out lies from Fauci and governors. In my opinion this tactic was to keep people off balance and so exhausted that they didn’t want to invest any time into figuring out the truth.

So, I did what I do, and I engaged people.
I invited them to mask-free events in my home. Those that were scared could sit outside on the porch. But you know what? They still came over because the need for human contact is greater than the fear and somewhere in their spirit people knew something was not right.
I was shopping at Dillard’s one day and saw another unmasked face. I leaned over the clearance purses we were picking through and I said, “it’s so nice to see your unmasked face.” As we engaged in conversations about the masks she said, “these people with the masks on are just scared.”

“You know what I am scared of”, I shared with the lady. “Escalators. I won’t use one at the mall or the airport. I will miss a flight if I must.” That is what fear looks like: avoidance.
People at the mall who are looking at expensive purses or nice bottles of perfume with a mask on are not in fear. They are complying with a narrative to avoid being inconvenienced. In their spirit they know something is not quite right, but they become so discombobulated from the constant propaganda that they go along.

There is a time for everything.
There is a time for silence, and there is a time to be vocal. There is a time to watch, and there is a time to act. When our freedom is being replaced by tyranny, we must act.
We educate ourselves, and we become the authority. Our knowledge empowers us to become leaders in our community. AFLDS is a gold mine of truth and legal and medical resources. Harness your knowledge and leadership to encourage others, and together we will reclaim our precious freedom.

The doctor-patient relationship is being threatened.
That means quality patient care is under fire like never before. Powerful interests are undermining the effective practice of medicine with politicized science and biased information. Now more than ever, patients need access to independent, evidence-based information to make the best decisions for their healthcare. Doctors must have the independence to care for their patients without interference from government, media and the medical establishment.
America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) stands up for every American looking for the best quality healthcare by empowering doctors working on the front lines of our nation’s most pressing healthcare challenges. We help to amplify the voices of concerned physicians and patients nationwide to combat those who push political and economic agendas at the expense of science and quality healthcare solutions. Freedom Over Fear – America’s Frontline Doctors (americasfrontlinedoctors.org)

IF You are Paralyzed by Fear, Then You are Missing a Wonderful Opportunity.

The COVID-19 has forced us to look face to face with our fears. I have been getting numerous messages from my patients, friends and family members about how they are fearful and stressed about the current state of affairs.
I am a general surgeon and a lifestyle medicine doctor. I work on the frontline taking care of sick patients coming through the emergency room. I have a decent understanding of how the best healthcare systems in the world are collapsing because of the rapid spread of coronavirus.
I felt compelled to share about how I exercise my choice of Freedom Over Fear during this critical time.

Let us look at “fear” closely. What is the purpose of it?
What does it do to us? And how can we transform it?

The purpose of fear or anxiety is to point us in the right direction so that we take the necessary steps to do what is safe and to protect ourselves and loved ones. That’s it!
Imagine you have never touched fire before, and you happen to touch it for the first time. What happens? You feel pain. Then the next time you see the fire, you have a little bit of fear. That little bit of fear ensures safety. If you think of the fire and the thought of the fire itself paralyzes you, thinking that it’s going to come to you, swallow you, burn you, then you are not putting the fear in the right perspective. If you are paralyzed with fear, then you tend to do stupid things. On the other hand, if you shun the fear, and say you are invincible, then you might make different sorts of stupid choices.

Finding the balance is the key!
It’s okay to have a little bit of fear. Having a little bit of fear or anxiety can be helpful as it keeps you alert to safeguard yourself and propels you to make the right choices.
Putting Fear and Anxiety in the Right Perspective is the Need of the Hour!
With the current COVID-19 situation, it’s okay to be afraid that you might get infected, or your loved ones might get the virus. It’s okay to have that fear, but here are the essential questions to ask – what are you doing with that fear?

Are you channeling the fear to do what’s needed or you freezing with it?
Are you focusing on things you can control, or are you wasting your time on things you can’t control? Even in the current situation, there are lots of things we can control.  We can control the possibility of exposure to the virus by staying home and maintaining physical distancing. We can control personal hygiene by washing our hands to decrease our chances of getting the infection. We can optimize our health by eating foods that boost our immunity and staying away from foods that cause inflammation. Plant-based way of eating centred on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, beans, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices boosts our immune system and optimizes health.

We can further boost our immune system by managing our stress.

Did you know that fear and stress out of proportion can work against you?
The brain senses the thought of fear as a threat. When the mind goes into the mode of danger, then there is an increased release of a stress hormone called Cortisol. Cortisol, in optimal doses, has many useful functions in the body. But with unregulated and chronic fear and stress, our brain releases the excess Cortisol, which has many adverse effects on our health, including the suppression of our immune system.

So, what do we do with this fear?
Fear is a sign that something is not right, and we need to channel this fear into what it is in our control rather than what we can’t control.  Yes, there is a lot of uncertainty right now, and we don’t know exactly how it will be a month from now or six months from now; uncertainty is there.  This may not be the best time to come up with a 5 year plan. This is the time to focus on survival and living in the present NOW.  This is the time to maximize self-care. This is the time to focus on protecting ourselves and our loved ones and taking care of each other. This is the time to give our attention to what matters the most for us and take one day at a time. This pandemic will pass, and the sooner all of us collectively do what is needed for each other, the sooner it will pass. Let’s channel our emotions and thoughts into taking care of ourselves and put our attention on what is in our control rather than what is not in our control.
