Actually, Johns Hopkins Univ. says cumulative USA covid death toll is 773K today, with a very low mortality rate of .2355% (one death per 425 infections.) So, this translates to roughly 328.5 million USA covid survivors with robust natural immunity. Immunity falls off after time just like the vaccine…
But if you get both, the protection is quite amazing.  With natural immunity, even the CDC’s numbers indicate the USA should be at herd immunity by now.

Tell that to the dead, oh wait, you can’t, because they DIED. >800,000 Americans either didn’t have a chance or did and didn’t survive to take advantage of your “natural immunity”.

There is no bell curve to death. I have known people who have smoked for 80 years and never got cancer. DEATH does NOT prove anything except it’s an expected result of having lived a full life.  
Globally, those who’ve died have a HIGHER average age than the age of mortality. 
The majority who died. Are involved in auto accidents, are obese… smokers… alcoholics… suicides. via drugs… all cause millions of deaths a year in America alone…all preventable…no one cares for true health, or these would be addressed more.

I had it in January, the most I’ve ever been, my breathing and the sense of fatigue are still not back to normal. If I could have had a vaccine, I would’ve made it more like the flu… I would’ve. NAPERVILLE, Illinois (LifeSiteNews) — An elderly, critically-ill COVID patient who was repeatedly denied ivermectin has made a full recovery after a court ordered the hospital to treat him with the potentially life-saving drug.
On Thanksgiving weekend, Sun Ng, a 71-year-old man who spent 22 days on a ventilator with COVID-19, was discharged from Edward Hospital in Naperville, Illinois, following a successful treatment cycle of ivermectin. Despite the drug’s efficacy, the hospital had only agreed to the use of the drug after Ng’s daughter, Dr. Man Kwan Ng, obtained a court order mandating their compliance.
According to a press release distributed on behalf of Mauck & Baker law firm in Chicago, the court-ordered ivermectin treatment was given to Ng for five days, November 8 through November 12, and he was discharged on November 27, having fully recovered.

“My father’s recovery is amazing,” shared Dr. Man Kwan Ng in the release.
“My father is a tough man. He was working so hard to survive, and of course, with God’s holding hands. He weaned off oxygen about three days after moving out of the ICU. He started oral feeding before hospital discharge. He returned home without carrying a bottle of oxygen and a feeding tube installed to his stomach. He can now stand with a walker at the bedside and practice stepping. After being sedated for a month on a ventilator in ICU, his performance is beyond our expectations. Praise the Lord.”
As previously reported by LifeSiteNews, the process of getting Ng ivermectin was not seamless, even with a court order. On Friday, November 5, Judge Paul Fullerton of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court in DuPage County, Illinois, had granted Dr. Alan Bain access to the hospital for the purposes of administering the drug to Ng. Despite the court’s decision, the hospital refused Bain entry on the grounds that he was not vaccinated against COVID-19.
Following this, “An Emergency Report was filed with the court first thing on Monday morning, November 8, recounting the weekend’s events. After brief argument from both parties, Judge Fullerton admonished Edward Hospital’s representatives and restated that he ordered them to let Dr. Bain in on Friday, and that the hospital must let Dr. Bain in.”
Finally, the hospital complied with the judge’s request, and Bain was granted access to the facility.

In the spirit of thanksgiving, Ng’s daughter stated of the events, “Our family especially thanks Judge Paul Fullerton. Without him, we couldn’t bring my father home and couldn’t see him smile at us again. We also gratefully thank our attorneys, Ralph C. Lorigo and Mauck & Baker, LLC, for the entire legal process and fighting for my father’s rights. We also sincerely thank Dr. Alan Bain for walking along with us and his administration of Ivermectin to my father. We also want to say thank you to the doctors and nurses in the hospital. I saw the caring of the nurses when I stayed at the bedside with my father.”

The adult individual was vaccinated and had received a booster in early November, Minnesota Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm told reporters. The man reported attending the Anime NYC 2021 convention at the Javits Center from Nov. 19-21. He developed mild symptoms on Nov. 22 and was tested on Nov. 24. His symptoms have since resolved.

So where I started was with connection. Because, by the time you’re a social worker for 10 years, what you realize is that connection is why we’re here.
It’s what gives purpose and meaning to our lives. This is what it’s all about.
It doesn’t matter whether you talk to people who work in social justice and mental health and abuse and neglect, what we know is that connection, the ability to feel connected, is — neurobiologically that’s how we’re wired — it’s why we’re here.
So I thought, you know what, I’m going to start with connection. Well, you know that situation where you get an evaluation from your boss, and she tells you 37 things you do really awesome, and one thing — an “opportunity for growth?” And all you can think about is that opportunity for growth, right? Well, apparently this is the way my work went as well, because, when you ask people about love, they tell you about heartbreak. When you ask people about belonging, they’ll tell you their most excruciating experiences of being excluded. And when you ask people about connection, the stories they told me were about disconnection.

Shame
So very quickly — really about six weeks into this research — I ran into this unnamed thing that absolutely unraveled connection in a way that I didn’t understand or had never seen. And so I pulled back out of the research and thought, I need to figure out what this is. And it turned out to be a shame.
And shame is really easily understood as the fear of disconnection: Is there something about me that, if other people know it or see it, that I won’t be worthy of connection? The things I can tell you about it: it’s universal; we all have it. The only people who don’t experience shame have no capacity for human empathy or connection. No one wants to talk about it, and the less you talk about it the more you have it. What underpinned this shame, this “I’m not good enough,” — which we all know that feeling: “I’m not blank enough. I’m not thin enough, rich enough, beautiful enough, smart enough, promoted enough.” The thing that underpinned this was excruciating vulnerability, this idea of, in order for connection to happen, we have to allow ourselves to be seen, really seen.
And you know how I feel about vulnerability. I hate vulnerability. And so I thought, this is my chance to beat it back with my measuring stick. I’m going in, I’m going to figure this stuff out.

I’m going to spend a year, I’m going to totally deconstruct shame,
I’m going to understand how vulnerability works, and I’m going to outsmart it. So, I was ready, and I was really excited. As you know, it’s not going to turn out well. You know this. So, I could tell you a lot about shame, but I’d have to borrow everyone else’s time. But here’s what I can tell you that it boils down to — and this may be one of the most important things that I’ve ever learned in the decade of doing this research. My one year turned into six years: thousands of stories, hundreds of long interviews, focus groups. At one point, people were sending me journal pages and sending me their stories — thousands of pieces of data in six years.

And I kind of got a handle on it.
I kind of understood, this is what shame is, this is how it works. I wrote a book, I published a theory, but something was not okay — and what it was is that, if I roughly took the people I interviewed and divided them into people who really have a sense of worthiness — that’s what this comes down to, a sense of worthiness — they have a strong sense of love and belonging — and folks who struggle for it, and folks who are always wondering if they’re good enough. There was only one variable that separated the people who have a strong sense of love and belonging and the people who really struggle for it. And that was, the people who have a strong sense of love and belonging believe they’re worthy of love and belonging. That’s it. They believe they’re worthy. And to me, the hard part of the one thing that keeps us out of connection is our fear that we’re not worthy of connection, was something that, personally and professionally, I felt like I needed to understand better. So what I did is I took all of the interviews where I saw worthiness, where I saw people living that way, and just looked at those.

Why is it that people are quick to say they’re jealous of someone, but will not admit to being envious? What’s the difference between shame and guilt? Is feeling hopeless the same as feeling despair? These are the questions that Brené Brown, the sociology professor turned best-selling author and leadership consultant, tries to answer in her new book, Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience, out Nov. 30.
While these may seem like trivial taxonomic questions to some, Brown believes the ability to precisely name feelings is a crucial skill, especially in days of division. “If we want to find the way back to ourselves and one another, we need language,” she writes, “and the grounded confidence to both tell our stories and to be stewards of the stories that we hear.”

In surveys taken by 7,000 people over five years, Brown and her team found that on average people can identify only three emotions as they are actually feeling them: happiness, sadness and anger. For Brown, who made her name by illuminating the finer contours of humans’ emotional landscape, this is not nearly enough. So, in Atlas of the Heart, she sets out to map 87 different emotions, pointing out the distinguishing features of each.
The difference between guilt and shame, for example, as fans of Brown already know from her wildly popular Ted talks, her five previous No. 1 best sellers and her Netflix lecture series, is that guilt tells people they did something bad while shame tells people they are something bad. The difference between envy and jealousy is that envy materializes when one wants something somebody else has—looks, status and wealth are the big trio—while jealousy is the feeling that a relationship is being threatened. Hopelessness is a fleeting fear that a task is too difficult, and despair is a feeling that life is too difficult. And so on.

As a potential cartographer for the human experience, Brown is a solid candidate.
She’s the Dr. Fauci of feelings; she can take complex subjects that require years of study and explain them in a comprehensible and reassuring way. But unlike America’s most famous public health official, Brown has the freedom to be much more of a sharer.
In Atlas of the Heart, she frequently flicks at her personal biography, using her own life as a source of exposition. Brown mentions in passing that she came from a dysfunctional but high-performing family, and that she’s a recovered alcoholic, a committed swimmer, a former waitress, resentful, a perfectionist and prone to comparison, among other things.

She even takes her own oft-given advice and gets vulnerable, admitting to having made a mistake in her previous work. “For two decades, I’ve said, ‘We need to understand emotion so we can recognize it in ourselves and others,’” she writes. “Well, let me go on the record right now: I no longer believe that we can recognize emotion in other people, regardless of how well we understand human emotion and experience or how much language we have.” This is not to dismiss psychotherapy (we presume), but to encourage people to talk about what they’re going through rather than expecting others to know—and to listen, rather than guess.
This formula, very human life + very rigorous research, has powered Brown’s work for 20 years, since the Ted Talk that made her famous. Brown wants people to “lean in” to their feelings, but she also wants to make it fun. (Last time I wrote about the author, we conducted part of the interview on swings in a park, at her request.)

In Atlas of the Heart, the 87 emotions she describes are gathered into 13 land masses, each labeled as a destination: “Places We Go When We Compare,” for example, or “Places We Go When It’s Beyond Us.”
Comic-book-style illustrations are peppered throughout. And Brown introduces—or tries to popularize—new concepts. “Story-stewardship” is when somebody explains their problem and the listener neither dismisses nor tries to immediately solve their issue. “Near enemies” are similar to misapprehensions; when a response to a situation looks like the appropriate one but actually makes that situation worse. Pity is the near enemy of compassion, while sentimentality is the near enemy of loving kindness.
The book, sold to HBO Max as an unscripted series even before it was published, is her most reader-friendly yet—but it may also be her thinnest. Explaining 87 emotions, exploring the research around them, suggesting responses and encouraging people to examine themselves, all in an easy-to-digest 300 pages—it’s a tall order. And readers can feel the stretch marks. A large portion of the book is oversize quotes, and there are some less-than-persuasive sections. Isn’t “bittersweet” self-explanatory?

“I literally became bedridden last October,” the “Complicated” singer said, adding that she saw multiple specialists who failed to get to the root of the problem. “They would pull up their computer and be like, ‘chronic fatigue syndrome.’ Or ‘Why don’t you try to get out of bed, Avril, and just go play
the piano?’ It’s like, ‘Are you depressed?’” 
Lavigne said she would wake up with night sweats and felt as though she had the flu. “This went on and off for a month,” she said. “And I saw my doctor right away, got blood tests, got swabbed, and they didn’t really know what was wrong with me.” It wasn’t until two months into the symptoms that she said she suspected Lyme disease.  “I started going to other doctors and specifically asking, them, ‘I have Lyme disease. I know I do. Can you check me?’”

“And the thing is, when you’re a specialist, you also really know the disease inside and out and you can diagnose their symptoms,” Lavigne said. After getting the diagnosis of Lyme disease, which Lavigne believes she got from a tick bite last spring, the singer was bedridden for five months in her Ontario home. Lavigne, who is married to Nickelback front man Chad Kroeger, said her family and fans have helped her through her ordeal. Many fans, she said, made videos and sent her letters and posters and other items to show their support.
“I sat there in my bed, and I watched the videos and, like, did exactly what I’m doing now. I cried through the whole thing,” she said, laughing.
“Honestly, I felt very, very loved. And it sounds silly saying it, but I really truly did feel my fans through the process.” She took the opportunity to share encouragement to others with Lyme disease. “There is hope. Lyme disease does exist. And you can get better,” she said. She called this period her “second shot at life,” adding: “I really just want to go out there and truly do what I love.

So I’m so excited for life after this.”

When singer Avril Lavigne went missing from the music scene, there was tons of speculation. Was she pregnant? In rehab? Going through a split from her husband.
Focus on the mystery intensified in December after a fan Twitter account posted a direct message from Lavigne when she solicited prayers, saying she was “having some health issues.”
Now the Canadian singer has revealed to People magazine that she was bedridden for five months after contracting Lyme disease.
“I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk, and I couldn’t move,”
she told the magazine.
“I thought I was dying.”

After her direct message about her health went viral, Lavigne was inundated with concern from fans. “The get-well messages and videos they sent touched me so deeply,” she said.
Avril Lavigne never thought she’d be on Christian radio. But the former pop-punk princess found herself there last October, when her uplifting anthem “Head Above Water” became an unexpected crossover hit on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart, peaking at No. 2.  
“I loved that,” Lavigne says, laughing. “But I’m not surprised because that’s where I got my start and how it all began. I grew up in a small town (in Ontario, Canada) singing in church, so it made me very happy. And needless to say, it made my parents very happy, too.” Although her strict Catholic upbringing eventually soured her on attending church (“They were really long services, and I was always so hungry,” she jokes), Lavigne says she still has her “own personal relationship with God, where I’m not a crazy Bible-thumper, but I do have faith.”

Following a life-threatening battle with Lyme disease. The illness, which she contracted from a tick, causes extreme fatigue and joint pain and left the singer bedridden for months. She recalls one particular night during that time – lying in bed with her mom, feeling weak and convinced she was dying – that she was inspired to write “Head Above Water,” which is also the title of her new album, out Friday (her first since 2013). 
“Music has been more healing than ever for me,” Lavigne says. “I was at a point where I wasn’t sure whether I’d be working or even doing music again, and then I started writing songs from my bedroom. ‘Head Above Water’ and ‘Warrior’ were the first two songs that I wrote, and then they just kept coming. It was cool for me to see because it showed me that music is such a big part of who I am without even thinking about it or trying to make a record.”

The album’s 12 songs are a marked departure from the snarling hits that defined Lavigne’s early career, when she embodied teenage angst on top-10 singles “Sk8er Boi,” “Complicated” and “Girlfriend.” “Tell Me It’s Over,” for instance, is a soulful doo-wop ballad about a fizzled romance, while “Crush” is a swoony, strings-laden confessional about being wary of new love. Lavigne, 34, looked to jazz and Motown legends including Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald and Diana Ross as she wrote. She hoped to showcase more of her voice, which was surprisingly strong after months of not using it as she recovered from Lyme. (“I was definitely concerned and thought I’d have to do a lot of warm-ups, but when I went into the studio, it was fine,” she recalls.)

It’s ‘scary’ making comeback 
Nearly five years after her 2014 diagnosis, Lavigne says her disease is now under control. She spends much of her downtime painting and cooking at home in Los Angeles and hopes to go back on tour at some point, though she’s not quite there yet physically. “It’s a little scary,” Lavigne admits. As she begins to promote the album, “I’m like, ‘I just want to step into this, pace myself and enjoy every moment.’ Making that record was a big milestone for me and something I’m really proud of, and now I’m (starting to) get back up on stage. So I have my family with me and a good group of people around me that are helping me get through this.”

The singer opens up about how a crippling case of Lyme disease has kept her out of the spotlight for nearly half a year. Singer Avril Lavigne opens up about the devastating disease that kept her bedridden for months – and how she’s fighting to recover. It wasn’t exactly the way she imagined spending her 30th birthday. When Avril Lavigne went to Las Vegas with a couple girlfriends last October to celebrate the milestone, she felt like doing anything but partying – in fact, she’d been feeling terrible for several months, but the doctors she’d seen couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was wrong with her.

“I could barely eat, and when we went to the pool, I had to leave and go lie in bed,” she tells PEOPLE in this week’s exclusive cover story. “My friends asked, ‘What’s wrong?’ I didn’t know.” Shortly after, following months of feeling lethargic and lightheaded, the normally energetic singer got her diagnosis: she had a severe case of Lyme disease. “I had no idea a bug bite could do this,” says Lavigne, who believes she was bit by a tick sometime last spring.

“I was bedridden for five months.”
The Canadian singer has been recuperating at her home in Ontario, where she spends time with family, watches movies and keeps up with fans through social media. “I felt like I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t talk, and I couldn’t move,” she says. “I thought I was dying.” Her mom moved in to help take care of her, while her husband Chad Kroeger, 40, stepped in when he could during breaks in his tour with Nickelback.
“There were definitely times I couldn’t shower for a full week because I could barely stand,” she says. “It felt like having all your life sucked out of you.” And while she had her share of dark moments, one thing that helped her get through the long days was knowing her fans were out there, waiting for her to get better. “They were asking about me since I was MIA, so I mentioned to one fan directly that I wasn’t feeling good,” Lavigne says, referencing a private Twitter message in December that went viral. “The get-well messages and videos they sent touched me so deeply.”
Now that she’s feeling more like herself the singer is ready to move forward, and that includes releasing new music. Her new Bite me Avril me what she may have went through “This was a wake-up call,” adds Lavigne. “I really just want to enjoy life from here on out.”

Head Above Water

Avril Lavigne was born on September 27, 1984 in Belleville, Ontario, Canada, to Judith-Rosanne (Loshaw) and Jean-Claude Joseph Lavigne. Her ancestry is French-Canadian, Polish, English, Irish, and Scottish. At sixteen, she moved to Manhattan and began work on her debut album. She dropped out of high school after the 11th grade when she secured a record deal. When Avril was almost 18, she released “Complicated” from her debut album titled:
“Let Go,” which went 6x platinum. As a petite skater girl from a small town, Avril has shown she is independent, full of confidence and determination, providing a good combination to make “Complicated” and Avril a musical breakthrough. “Complicated” went to number #1 on Billboard’s Top 100 while also earning her 5 Grammy nominations, MTV music awards, MTV European music awards and many more.

But by April of 2015, her desire to bring awareness to the disease outweighed her fear of having her diagnosis coming to define her—if only slightly. And so, she appeared on the cover of People under the words “Her Secret Health Crisis: ‘I Thought I Was Dying.'” After that, there was no going back.
“I feel like I have a responsibility—I can’t just sit on my ass and do nothing,” she told Billboard a week later. “I need to talk about Lyme disease, because
it’s real, it’s out there, it was a simple bug bite and it could happen to anybody. People need to know about it, because it’s not talked about that much and a lot of the information that’s out there is inaccurate.”

And yet, she was still attempting to downplay how bad things still were for her. In the People story, she claimed to be “80 percent better.” Speaking with Billboard, she was quick to highlight the “good that has come out of it”—namely, the opportunity for downtime for the first time in her 15-year career. And her social media remained cheerful as ever. “I put on a brave face because I didn’t want it to be a part of my identity,” she told Billboard last year. “So the second I was up, I would take a picture and post it on Instagram and act like my life was f–king great.” When she went on Good Morning America two months later, however, it was abundantly clear that things weren’t f–king great. 

Lavigne is set to perform her song, Fly Official Video on July 25 at the opening ceremonies of the 2015 Special Olympics Ostensibly there to promote her new single “Fly,” and the conversation naturally turned to the big revelation Lavigne had made just months earlier. And that’s when the singer known for her punk-ish, unflappable attitude absolutely lost it, breaking down in tears while describing her path towards diagnosis. “I was like, ‘I’m going to be brave and tell the world what’s going on.’ And I did it because I was releasing a song for the Special Olympics and I wanted it to do well, so I got forced to sit on camera and talk about it [on GMA],” she told Billboard. “I wasn’t ready, and I shouldn’t have done it. I was a mess.” 

(Elsewhere in the profile, the author noted that Lavigne was “annoyed that I didn’t understand how misleadingly edited the GMA interview was,” though she was not directly quoted as saying such.)

Things would go from bad to worse a few months later when, on September 2, Lavigne announced that, after months of speculation regarding the status of their marriage—speculation based, primarily, on her absence from public life—she and Kroeger were separating after two years of marriage. “It is with a heavy heart that Chad and I announce our separation today,” she wrote alongside a pic from their wedding day. “Through not only the marriage, but the music as well, we’ve created many unforgettable moments. 
We are still and forever will be, the best of friends, and will always care deeply for each other. To all our family, friends and fans, thank you sincerely for the support.” While Lavigne has largely kept quiet on what went wrong in the relationship ever since, always keeping talk of Kroeger remarkably positive, if she talks at all, while defending him when tired Nickleback jokes arise, a source told E! News at the time that the split was a long time coming.  
“Honestly, she’s doing OK,” the insider told us. “This has been in the works for awhile.”
As the source explained, the couple, who met when her then-manager Larry Rudolph suggested they collaborate professionally—”He’s had a ton of hit songs. He plays guitar. This could be great,” she recalled to Billboard.
“A month later, I had a 14-carat ring on my finger”—”didn’t see eye to eye on a lot of things” at the end of the day. “They originally got together to make an album and that’s where the spark between them originated,” the insider continued. “But it just slowly died out.” However OK she was and however slowly the spark disappeared, it still couldn’t have felt great. What divorce do? Yet, Lavigne has magnificently found a way to keep both of her splits—she was married to Sum 41 lead singer Deryck Whibley from 2006 to 2010—not simply amicable, but downright friendly. 

When she was finally ready to get back into the studio and record music for her long-awaited sixth studio album Head Over Water, released in February, it was in Kroeger’s studio where she sang her first note in years. He eventually worked on several tracks from the album, including the inspiring, spiritual title track—a track that came to Lavigne on one of the worst nights of her life. As she tells it, she was laying in bed with her mother and barely able to breathe. Fearing that it might be the end for her, the woman whose family raised her devoutly Christian began to pray. “I had accepted that I was dying,” she told Billboard. “And I felt in that moment like I was underwater and drowning, and I was trying to come up to gasp for air. And literally under my breath,
I was like, ‘God, help me keep my head above the water.'”

And that’s when she grabbed her phone, opened her Notes app,
and began to document the beginnings of what would be her comeback single.

“I wasn’t even thinking about music,” she told Entertainment Weekly.

I was able to take a hard time in my life and make the best out of a circumstance that I was going through…At first I didn’t know I was making an album—I just naturally turned to songwriting in a time of healing.” While Lavigne was working on the album and managing her Lyme disease—”It’s up and down. I’m doing my best to maintain a healthy lifestyle — eating healthy, sleeping well, and working out. I definitely have to pace myself. But at the same time, I have my life back now: I’m able to make music and make videos,” she told EW of her recovery efforts—a wild conspiracy theory was running rampant on the internet, resurfacing thanks to her time out of the spotlight.
The gist of the bizarre claim, which began on a Brazilian fan site (inasmuch as you can call a blog entitled Avril Esta Morta—or Avril is Dead—a fan site), asserts that after the death of her grandfather in 2003, Lavigne took her own life, unable to cope with the loss coupled with the mounting pressures of following up her wildly successful debut album Let Go. As the outlandish story goes, her record label then replaced her with a doppelganger named Melissa Vandella who had supposedly been hired to help confuse the paparazzi that were constantly following Lavigne. (Adding fuel to this wildfire is the existence of a photo of Lavigne with the name Melissa written in Sharpie on her hand during the photo shoot.)
Over the years, theorists have supported the bonkers story with perceived inconsistencies in the appearance of Lavigne’s skin, jawline, and eye corners, as well as her approach to fashion and her handwriting. You know, all normal things that tend to happen to a woman as she progresses through her 20s. For years, Lavigne had never denied or even addressed the rumors, only fanning the flames. But during a November interview with Australia’s KISS 1065, where she was asked if she’d laughed at the strange story, she finally broke her silence

“Yeah, some people think that I’m not the real me, which is so weird,” she said. “Like, why would they even think that?” 
Speaking with EW earlier this year, she elaborated on the subject when asked if it had affected her personally. “More like that it’s just a dumb internet rumor and [I’m] flabbergasted that people bought into it,” she told the magazine. “Isn’t that so weird? It’s so dumb. And I look the exact same. On one hand, everyone is like, ‘Oh my god, you look the same,’ and on the other hand people are like ‘Oh my god, she died.'”
While the internet has been foolishly debating over whether or not she’d die, the last few years have managed to give Lavigne a new lease on life. 
“It put things in perspective and showed me how much the small things in life—friends, love, family, just your health—matter the most,” she told People. She’s even embarked on a new relationship, dating Phillip Sarofim, son of Texas billionaire Fayez Sarofin, since early 2018. Since its inception, they’ve done little to call attention to the romance, never confirming it publicly, but they’ve been spotted out together periodically over the last year, most recently in June. And while a quick skim of much of the press that she participated in during the lead-up to Head Above Water‘s release earlier this year makes clear that she really doesn’t want to talk about her health woes, she’s thankful that, at least, it’s allowed her to do some good. 

“It was painful to face it, and I don’t like to talk about it sometimes, but to turn it into music and put it out there into positive experiences to help others has been good,” she told EW. In support of the album, which peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200, Lavigne was able to do something that might have seemed unthinkable just a few short years ago when she embarked on the Head Above Water Tour, a 15-stop run of shows in North America that kicked off on September 14. E! News’ Carissa Culiner visited the Grammy nominee in her rehearsal space days before her first performance in Seattle, where she admitted she was feeling “very good” and ready to give back, with proceeds from each ticket donated to her Avril Lavigne Foundation, which supports individuals with Lyme disease, serious illnesses and disabilities. 
“I think it’s just bringing awareness to the fact that it exists. A lot of people don’t know about it,” she explained when asked to share the biggest misconceptions about the disease. “I didn’t know about it and I was four-wheeling through the woods all the time and I was hiking. I didn’t know ticks had Lyme disease and it was a thing and I got a bug bite and it changed my life forever.”

Avril Lavigne has given an emotional interview on US television as she shared an update on her health since being diagnosed with Lyme disease. The 30-year-old singer broke down in tears during the chat with ‘Good Morning America’ as she talked about her debilitating illness for the first time on camera. “This is my second shot at life,” she told interviewer Jesse Palmer. “I’m about halfway through my treatment. I’m doing a lot better,” she said as tears rolled down her face. “Seeing a lot of progress… I’m just really grateful to know that I will make [a] 100 percent recovery.”
The ‘Complicated’ singer was diagnosed with Lyme disease, a debilitating bacterial infection that comes from a tick bite, in 2013 and became bedridden for five months.. “I literally became bedridden last October,’ she explained. “They would pull up their computer and be like, ‘Chronic fatigue syndrome’ or ‘Why don’t you try to get out of bed, Avril, and just go play the piano?’ It’s like, ‘Are you depressed?’ This went on and off for a month.” The ‘Sk8ter Boi’ singer was eventually diagnosed with Lyme disease after seeking out a specialist.
“The thing is, when you’re a specialist, you also really know the disease inside and out and you can diagnose their symptoms,’ she said. “There is hope. Lyme disease does exist. And you can get better,’ she added. “This is my second shot at life. I really just want to go out there and truly do what I love. So, I’m so excited for life after this.

Happy and healthy after a devastating battle with Lyme disease, the pop star, 34, reveals how the medical crisis changed her life in the new issue of PEOPLE. “I’ve gone through so much,” says Lavigne, whose struggles inform her new album Head Above Water (out Feb. 15). “It gave me a purpose,” she adds of her journey, “and made me find myself all over again.”

As she exclusively revealed to PEOPLE in an April 2015 cover story,
Lavigne had been quietly suffering from Lyme disease after disappearing from the public eye in the fall of 2014. RELATED: What Is Lyme Disease? Everything You Need to Know About the Tick-Borne Infection. Earlier that year, while on tour, Lavigne began feeling weak, but doctors at first cited dehydration and exhaustion. Months later — as her symptoms worsened and she struggled to even move — she visited a Lyme specialist who diagnosed her with the disease, a bacterial infection contracted from a tick bite that causes symptoms ranging from moderate fatigue and muscle pain to debilitating dementia.

The illness left Lavigne bedridden for two years — and at one point, she was convinced she was dying. “When you go through something like that, you realize how fulfilling simple things are — things I could do anymore, like being able to get up in the morning and go to the kitchen and grab a cup of coffee,” she says. “It taught me patience; it taught me to be more present. That was a beautiful lesson.” During her darkest moments fighting the disease, Lavigne leaned on her parents, grandmother and Christian faith. “I’m a very spiritual person, and I definitely did turn to God during that experience,” she says of praying for relief.

Lavigne also copied by writing songs, including the empowering anthems
“Head Above Water” and “Warrior,” which appear on her new record.

The Universe Responds (Within Hours)—But Are You Listening?

How can the universe hear your thoughts?.

Our thoughts are energy, forms of matter, vibration. Powerful forces of energy that can be heard through sound, vibrating to the depths of the universe. 

This is called “the law of attraction”. Everything in our life, we have subconsciously attracted to us, through our thoughts.    

The universe responds and sends you messages all the time. Everything you see “out there” is a response to what you are thinking, feeling and believing.

But here is the really exciting news—you can make your world change within hours.
That’s right. You can do a technique and watch your world respond—immediately!

Now, if this doesn’t excite you, you don’t understand how this works.

What a sign looks like.
A sign is something that changes in your world around the issue you are trying to create differently. Signs will show up within a few days after completing any powerful technique.

Here are some examples of signs:
If your desire is to create a job you love with a company you believe in and one that values their employees, a sign might be:
• You open your Facebook page and see a post on an article entitled, “The Top 100 Best Companies to Work For.”
• Your brother calls to tell you about his new job.
• The company you currently work for decides to implement a new “employee friendly” dress code.
If your desire is to create elegant and easy weight loss while feeling full, satisfied and beautiful, a sign might be:
•  While watching the news, a segment comes on about women healing their body issues.
•  A friend calls—excited to tell you about the new Zumba class she is taking.
•  You notice an article at a newsstand about a famous actress—formerly overweight—who has lost 50 pounds.
If your desire is to create a vibrant and fun new friendship with someone you love to hang out with, a sign might be:
•  You meet a stranger in line and a conversation ignites about a book you are both reading. She suggests coffee to discuss it further—although you are pretty certain she is not someone you want to become friends with.
•  While channel surfing you become engrossed in a movie about two best friends who are there for each other their entire lives.
•  You receive a postcard in the mail from a local spa with the headline: “Bring a Friend – Get 25% Off!”

Now the problem is, not everyone notices these little changes and even if they do notice them, they don’t see them as signs. And if you miss the sign, you miss knowing that you are a powerful reality creator and that you are shifting your world and creating your dream.
And worse, if you respond in a negative way towards these signs, you’ll literally stop the creation. Ouch!
How you respond to a sign from the universe is critical. But the first thing to understand is how you are likely to respond, and how you could improve your response.

Typical responses and “flow strengthening” responses:
Take a look at the same “signs” described above, with both a typical (negative) response and a response that will strengthen the flow of energy—thereby manifesting your dream even faster:

Typical Response: “Geez, why did he get the new job when I’m the one who wanted one?”
Flow Strengthening Response: “I can barely believe this—someone close to me getting what I am consciously creating is a HUGE sign that it’s just around the corner for me too!”
Sign: The company you currently work for decides to implement a new “employee friendly” dress code.
Typical Response: “How sad is this company? Too little, too late. I can’t wait to get out of here.”
Flow Strengthening Response: “Wow—I started programming for a better place to work and my current place becomes a better place! A sign if there ever was one.”

Desire: To create elegant and easy weight loss while feeling full, satisfied and beautiful.
Sign: While watching the news a segment comes on about women healing their body issues.
Typical Response: “This makes me feel depressed. What if my issue is more than skin deep? I’ll never lose this extra weight.”
Flow Strengthening Response: “Hey, that felt like a little sign. Those women healed, and no matter what the underlying cause, I can too.”
Sign: A friend calls—excited to tell you about the new Zumba class she is taking.
Typical Response: “Exercise classes come and go—and I never, ever find something I stick with—neither will she.”
Flow Strengthening Response: “Hey—maybe this is a sign? I’m creating healthy, fun weight loss and she found exercise she adores! I’m going to try a class—maybe I’ll love it too!”
Sign: You notice an article at a newsstand about a famous actress—formerly overweight—who has lost 50 pounds.
Typical Response: “Yeah, she probably had a trainer, chef and personal coach to pull that one off. I wish I had that kind of support…”
Flow Strengthening Response: “Ha ha…everywhere I look, I see signs. I had better start imagining my body skinny—because it looks like that is what I’m already starting to create!”

Desire: To create a vibrant and fun new friendship with someone you love to hang out with.

Typical Response: “Damn. I want to draw new exciting friends to me—not clingy, complainers. Where did I go wrong in creating this?”
Flow Strengthening Response: “SO cool! I put out the vibe for friends and they come out of the woodwork. It won’t be long now before someone perfect for me shows up.”
Sign: You are channel surfing and become engrossed in a movie about two best friends who have been there for each other their entire lives.
Typical Response: “Oh this movie makes me feel so sad. I really want a friend like that—and now, with half my life behind me, I know I’ll never have that.”
Flow Strengthening Response: “This movie is beautiful, and a perfect sign that I’m on track in creating the friendship I desire. I think I’ll go do another technique.”
Sign: You receive a postcard in the mail from a local spa with the headline: “Bring a Friend – Get 25% Off!”
Typical Response: “That figures. You only get discounts when you have a ‘friend’. Way to rub it in that I’m alone and lonely. Stupid spa.”
Flow Strengthening Response: “Hey, I’m holding onto this. It’s another sign that new friends are on their way to me. I must be pretty powerful if I can simply choose and imagine for a while and then see my world reflect a sign back within hours, letting me know it’s on the way.”
You see, it’s not difficult to learn to recognize the signs and to respond positively. It just takes some practice.
If you are super excited, you DO understand.
It only takes one little (yet powerful) technique to shift your reality. A sign will show up within hours (generally within 2 to 72).
Start looking for signs that your resonance is shifting and your dreams are coming true. Respond to them in ways that strengthens the flow of your dream. And begin to prepare for your new life.

Those people who can’t get off their damn cell phones when I’m visiting. Thanksgiving we had 11 people…two pulled out their phones and got involved…and yes, I politely talked about how I felt…didn’t stop right away but shortly after.  

Memorial Day ISN’T Veterans day. Corporate America shouldn’t get to make good off of that “holiday” either.

Society really takes away from the true meaning. It’s unnerving.

People who merge into the bike lane onto 82 so they can beat traffic to the Yellowhead. I don’t bike but I’ve seen trucks take the bike lane AND the sidewalk just to get ahead in the line. I see sooo many people do it and it pisses me off lol. Wait your turn and zipper merge!  

When on my motorcycle, at an intersection turning right, knuckle heads sometimes pull into the right of me because there is room. In effect putting it into the outside lane. I hate that.

 Certain foods of mine touch on the plate. I also have to eat one thing at a time. I know I’m weird! lol I had an uncle who did that thing by eating one food at a time. It *is* weird, but at least you now know there are other food-separating weirdos in the world. I used to do that when I was little (eating one food at a time) and I guess my mom was so embarrassed by it that she actually broke me of that habit. So. Yay!   Negative, energy draining language instead of uplifting language. “Don’t do this and don’t do that” instead of “let’s try it this way or let’s try that” It’s very easy to be at the receiveing end of hat. Better to take charge and teach. Let’s put it this way. I watched a special on Autism, by the end of the episode I was completely convinced I was autistic. I didn’t understand why being particular and specific is odd.

When people back their car into a parking space. Most can’t back up very well and I have to wait for them to get parked. I believe it is easier to back out than into a space.

This technology revolution was intentionally scheduled to happen at this very moment in time, to stop us from reaching the mental ascension boost about to take place.
The Mayans never thought the world would end, that’s a misinterpretation. Nouns don’t end. The “END” their calendar refers to is the end of an age of vanity and the beginning of a new age of higher consciousness. According to the macrocosmic Equinox cycle in the universe, the Age of Pieces has come to an end and the new age of Aquarius has begun.
This new age is: SELF AWARENESS. Yet, not a physical self-awareness.
Your SELF is not your body. Your body is a portal your spirit must wear like clothes to travel in this earth zone.

Your SELF is your mind.
Your mind IS a universe. You are not IN the universe. You were taught that to limit your thoughts. You ARE a universe.

Every thought you have travels at the speed of light. How is it you can remember things you’ve never experienced yet? It’s not” déjà vu”. It’s a memory of an experience your spirit had before you were imprisoned in this body, to live on this planet. Some are even memories of an experience you have yet to experience yet on earth, because your spirit experienced it somewhere in the universe in the future, while you were asleep, because TIME does not exist in the universe.

Stop reading. If you are still plugged into the matrix and still prisoner to technology, stop reading this right now, because you will not understand nor comprehend such high mental stimulation. Only keep reading if your chakras are aligned. It’s about to get really deep.

These are human characteristics used to keep our minds prisoner to fear so we won’t remember who we are, a universe. You are not a human being, you are a spirit, being human for a short time, as your spirit and soul vacation in this dream called “life”. How silly for people to think their God has a gender or a race. Those are HUMAN characteristics. How could your God be a human, if your God created humans? How could your God be a he, she, man or woman if your God had to CREATE man and woman into existence? Let it marinate. Think.

Anything you want, or want to KNOW, you can attract to you, with just a thought. Our thoughts are not something only we can hear. Our thoughts are energy, forms of matter, vibration. Powerful forces of energy that can be heard through sound, vibrating to the depths of the universe.

This is called “the law of attraction”. Everything in our life, we have subconsciously attracted to us, through our thoughts. Anything that is not YET in our lives, we have repelled from us, through our thoughts. This power cannot be used or controlled if we are not in tune with our SELF.

Now you can clearly see why your opposition keeps feeding you the latest form of technology, app, Smart Phone, Computer, Tablet, iOS update, Video game, YouTube clip, TV show, Song, Movie, Car, Plasma, to keep you distracted & too mentally unaware to KNOW YOURSELF. The 1% of the population that owns 99% of the wealth acquired such wealth by monopolizing 99% of the KNOWLEDGE. That 1% withholds the keys to the great secrets of knowledge, distracting us with vain forms of technology and entertainment, to keep us mentally sleep, while we give amazing forms of technology and entertainment our full, undivided attention while our brain is on auto-pilot. We have become sleep walkers without a bed.

The mental walking dead.
You will not stop using your app to take a phone call, or have an in-person-conversation, yet you will stop an in-person-conversation to adhere to an app notification.

Technology is a tool. Use it. Don’t let it use you. We cannot live without our phones. We are prisoners to anything we cannot live without. Practice leaving your phone home one day a week. You just thought, “no, I cannot do that.” See, not only does technology have you programmed to automatically refute anything that frees you from it, technology also makes your thoughts predictable. Thoughts are things. You cannot do something, because you keep telling yourself with your thoughts, “I can’t.” I can’t is the mantra of a mental prisoner.

Prove to yourSELF, keyword SELF, you are not a prisoner to anything. Stop just following your favorite celeb gossip and start following your purpose. Communicate with it like it’s your soul mate, because in reality it is. Say “You’re the first thing I pray for when I awake & last thing I think of at night.

You’re have your own purpose.”

Men: Challenge yourself to approach ONE beautiful woman a day.
Respectfully & confidently approach her, look her in her eyes & say, “Excuse me, my name is ____, may I ask your name?” Make her laugh, call her, get to know her, then take her OUT on a real date. Not just to your house for sex. Call her and say,
“I would like to take you out on a date this Friday to hear live music after an Italian dinner, a deep conversation and a walk on the boardwalk; what time are you available?”

Don’t let your only form of approaching a woman be, send a friend request, then send an inbox message or DM, “Hey sexy”. Young king, that is not approaching. That’s computer love *Zapp & Roger voice* Don’t let yourSELF be a prisoner to technology. Please don’t waste several weeks and months texting a woman without asking her out. Don’t depend too heavily on technology to get to know a woman, she’s so much more than her texts and her two-dimensional pictures.

Ladies: Challenge yourSELF to get all dressed up, hair done, eyebrows on point, outfit fierce, heel game vicious and go out on a REAL date or with your girls once a weekend. It does not have to be “out” to a club. Live music, comedy club, musical, fancy dinner and art murmur are just a few of many options for going out. Don’t let the only time you get all dolled up be to take a picture, post it to Instagram, await the likes & attention, feel pretty.

That’s not a man giving you attention, that’s males using your pictures for jack-off material. Yep. And if you didn’t know, now you do. Don’t allow yourSELF be a prisoner to technology. You feel insecure so much, because you rarely go out on REAL DATES. You can get 1,000s of likes on your pictures and all the mentions in the world on Instagram, but how many men have taken you out on a REAL DATE where he plans and pays for everything without you having to tell him what you would like to do?

Queen, please don’t think you are crazy for being a hopeless romantic and insane for expecting a man to be chivalrously romantic to you without you having to first ask him to. Besides, sanity is unattractive on a woman. If the ways of this world do not make sense to you, it is because your mind is above
it and your spirit is not from it.

Log off social networks, and log into SELF.
I promise you, once you do, you will begin to mentally awaken and spiritually ascend. Remember, you are a universe. I don’t want you to allow your trust issues, the complaints people have of the way you live your life, nor the selfish way people treat you to stress you or consume you. That is the only purpose of stress. To try & make you doubt your strength. People will constantly bring up old mistakes you made in your past, but you are NOT your past. You are not your pain. You are NOT the mistakes you’ve made. You are unbreakable. One small crack flaw does not ruin the masterpiece. It only makes you value that work of art more, because it survived that crack. Don’t let any pain or stress rob you of your happiness. ‪

I know you get tired of being so patient, giving, considerate & loyal to others only to be used & NEVER getting the same in return from them. But I want you to promise yourself you will STOP allowing how people TREAT you to dictate your level of happiness or stress. I mos def pray people stop taking all you do for them for granted & start acknowledging your caring nature & all the energy, time & effort you put into doing for others is reciprocated back to you.

Sometimes it’s easy to hear the universe:
If there is one thing in life, I know to be true it is that life is constantly teaching us lessons and sending us signs. These lessons are not the sort you find in a book or on a YouTube video. They are messages or signs if you like from the universe that if you do notice them and listen will guide you on the right path in life.

Another thing I know to be true is the universe doesn’t always make it easy to find these lessons. The universe/life works in mysterious ways. There is no universal translator. As the universe talks in experience not in words like we do.

Think about where you are in life right now.
Try and focus on one point in your life. Maybe your work, your relationship or even reading this article. Now how did you get there? Trace the story back through the events that led to you being in this situation. Somewhere along that journey you will find a pattern. Something that keeps popping up again and again. That there is what I am talking about.

That is the sign or the lesson that guided you to where you are.
If you are still unsure what I mean let me give you an example from my own life. 5 years ago, I was feeling lonely living in another country and missing my spiritual community. I was also feeling unsatisfied with my work. Whilst visiting a friend I met a girl and we had one of those deep life conversations that you can only ever have with a stranger that you click with straight away. She mentioned to me a spiritual fitness center that had opened up near where I lived. So, I looked into it. Became a member and made friends with the project manager. Through that friendship he asked me to teach the community about my spiritual beliefs, from those sessions my Walking the Wheel of the Year program and book were born. Which I have now been teaching for 5 years and the book will be published in March 2020 this year. I needed a life change. I vocalized it. And by following my instincts, I found my path to be a life coach, writer and spiritual guide.

These kinds of signs or lessons are easy to spot. When you are clear about what you want and what you need. You begin to look for it. You pay attention. And the law of attraction kicks into action and quickly you follow on track. In these cases, you just have to follow your gut, and of course take action. (Very rarely does the universe give massive, easy handouts).

Sometimes it’s harder to hear the messages:
However, some lessons or signs can be harder to see or understand than others. And if we are not looking for the teachings or signs in these situations it can be so easy to miss them.
Feeling unsatisfied constantly can be the universe trying to tell you something. A chronic pain, not from an injury but from stress. Repeatedly ending up in what seems like the same relationship situations even though the partners change. All of these are the universe saying ‘Hey-o I am trying to tell you something!’

The key here is to look for the patterns. If you see repeated patterns this is probably a good indication that this is what you need to work on to learn and move on from a situation. Look for the pattern. See what it is teaching you and then work on that. It means you have to take a step back from the why is this happening to me feeling and look past the negative emotions.

But remember what Max Planck said,
“When you change the way, you look at things, the things you look at change”
So, if negative things keep happening then change the way you look and look for the lesson.

And Sometimes the Universe shouts at you:
Actually, you might have noticed that if you don’t pay attention to what the universe is trying to tell you it will shout louder. That is when you get the lessons that come with great traumas, horrible even catastrophic events.
Again, to give you an example from my own life. I have been homeless 4 times in my life over the course of 15 years. Each time I was made homeless it came from a bad break up and I was left penniless and homeless. The first time I managed to quickly get out of it after a few weeks. The next time is a few months. Then longer again. And then I was homeless, hospitalized for a kidney operation and I lost my job, in a foreign country. Talk about escalation. After the last time I decided that was enough. I drew a line in the sand and said this stops here. Instead of wallowing in the pain of the break up and my situation (oh and believe me I wanted to) I looked instead for the answer to a really hard question. In fact, it is probably the most powerful question I have found in my personal development journey. And that is:

“Why have I created this?”
It’s a hard question to ask yourself whilst living on the streets. Trust me. However, it forced me to look at the actions that I had taken in my journey to that point. To look back at the signs I missed. And to understand the lesson the universe had been trying to tell me all along. Which in my case was a lot about trusting myself for my own security, not other people and much, much more. We’ll go into that another day. This question makes you look at why you attract that situation. You attracted it to teach you something. Big trauma events often hold the deepest teachings we need to learn in life. Some people believe it is from past life lessons that haven’t been learnt. I am on the fence about that one. However, what I do believe as I said before is big trauma is the universe shouting at you to listen and look.

All the messages are there if we look for them. And the great thing is
that the more aware we are the less shouting happens and we can spot
the opportunities right away.

4 important things to remember are:
Do not look for signs in EVERYTHING. I don’t recommend that at all.
But if you find a pattern popping up then take notice. 
Whether that be a flowing easy lesson like a DeJa’Vu or a long-lost friend being mentioned 3 times in one day or one that is harder to spot like a chronic but twitch. 
Signs and teachings are not good or bad. They just are. If a sign pops up that you don’t like. Don’t ignore it and work with what you have got.
Do not look for signs in EVERYTHING. I don’t recommend that at all.

But if you find a pattern popping up then take notice.
If you want to be more proactive in looking for signs I would highly recommend talking or writing to the universe. However, you like to do that.
I use free writing to help me unlock my unconscious observations. And I often use the why have I created this question in my journaling. However, I have met people that prefer to pray, draw, meditate and even shout at the universe when they are in need of understanding. You will find your own way.

The important thing is that you begin to look!!!

Tiger Woods opens up to Golf Digest on future:
Tiger’s injuries 2021 hopes to participate on the PGA Tour again someday, but returning on a full-time basis won’t happen, he said in his first in-depth interview since being injured in a single-car crash in February.

“I think something that is realistic is playing the Tour one day — never full time, ever again — but pick and choose, just like Mr. (Ben) Hogan did. Pick and choose a few events a year and you play around that,” Woods told Golf Digest. “You practice around that, and you gear yourself up for that. I think that’s how I’m going to have to play it from now on.

“It’s an unfortunate reality, but it’s my reality.

And I understand it, and I accept it.”

Woods will be on site this week as tournament host at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas and hold a news conference on Tuesday.

Woods continues to rehab the significant leg injuries he suffered in the crash, recently posting a video on social media showing him hitting golf balls on a course. The 45-year-old had open fractures in the upper and lower portions of his right leg, and additional injuries to his foot and ankle which required screws and pins to be inserted.

“There was a point in time when, I wouldn’t say it was 50/50, but it was damn near there if I was going to walk out of that hospital with one leg,” Woods said in the interview with Golf Digest. “Once I (kept it), I wanted to test and see if I still had my hands. So even in the hospital, I would have (girlfriend) Erica (Herman) and (friend) Rob (McNamara) throw me something. Throw me anything.”

In April, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Woods’ crash was caused by driving at an unsafe speed and that he was going 75 miles per hour when his vehicle hit a tree.

Woods last played at the PNC Championship’s father-son event with his son, Charlie, in December 2020. Prior to that, he made his last official tournament appearance at the 2020 Masters in November.
For the first time since his single-car accident in February, Tiger Woods has spoken about his future on the golf course.
The 15-time major champion spoke with Golf Digest about his year since the Los Angeles accident, his return to golf as well as his son, Charlie. Last week Golfweek reported that the PNC Championship was holding a spot for the father-son duo who amazed fans at last year’s event.

“I don’t have to compete and play against the best players in the world to have a great life. After my back fusion, I had to climb Mt. Everest one more time. I had to do it, and I did,” said Woods. “This time around, I don’t think I’ll have the body to climb Mt. Everest and that’s OK. I can still participate in the game of golf. I can still, if my leg gets OK, I can still click off a tournament here or there.”

“There’s a lot to look forward to, a lot of hard work to be done—being patient and progressing at a pace that is aggressive but not over the top. Obviously, when I get in the gym and I get flowing and the endorphins get going, I want to go, go, go,” he said. “That’s how I’ve been able to win so many tournaments. But then again, everyone reminds me at what cost? Look at you now. Pre-accident I was what? Ten surgeries. That’s just the wear and tear of doing my sport, of just trying to push it to win everything I possibly can. To win every single tournament I played in, I would do everything I possibly could. Like any sport, there’s a cost to it. There’s a cost of doing business and unfortunately, for sportsmen and sportswomen, injuries are a part of it.”
Tiger seems to be grateful now for his career, that he is alive, that he did not lose his leg, that he still has his children despite the divorce, and that he has a supporting golf community. I do not care what career/job we are talking about. If you want to be the best, some things will be sacrificed: time, relationships, whatever. That Tiger now can smile, walk, and reflect on probably the most dominant golfer of all time at his peaks (that is not the same as saying the best overall career, I still lean Nicklaus) is something he can soak in now in the reality of life. Anything he does on the golf course at this point is a bonus.

Jack did it while raising a family most of his career. You would hear amazing stories of Jack hopping on a plane to fly home Friday night after making a cut, seeing his sons’ football games that night, and getting back in time for Saturday tee times. Reading many books on Tiger, Earl Woods made a statement once that the only thing that would have derailed Tiger from being the best was WOMEN. Regardless of his personal shortcomings, this man has established himself among the very best ever to play the game: Hogan, Nicklaus, Vardon, Jones, Morris, Snead, Watson, Thompson, Player, Nelson, Ballesteros, Ouimet, Braid. It is difficult to understand how remarkable these achievements really are in the history of golf.
Growing up as a somewhat nerdy, thin young man, when he began to fill out and gain notoriety when winning U.S. Amateur Championships and taking college and PGA Tour golf by storm, women were always around. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree and it took Tiger a lifetime to figure this out. Unlike Jack, he didn’t have a family to raise for a significant part of his career. I am taking nothing away from Tiger – he is in the team picture with Nicklaus and if he ever matches his majors total, I would have to reconsider where he ranks. I never thought he would ever win another major after his last comeback so nothing would surprise me on what he will accomplish in his future.

I am fortunate to have seen it in my lifetime — including several in person major wins. However Tiger Woods wants to stay involved in the game is fine with me. Without Jack there would be no Tiger; without Hogan, no Nicklaus, Watson, Player, Ballesteros or Thompson; without Ouimet, no Jones or Hogan; without Vardon and Braid, no Ouimet; without Tom Morris, none of them. It isn’t about the number of majors; it’s about the impact on the game. This actually is more encouraging than I imagined. Sounds like he is confident he can compete in majors and probably a couple other limited field events on Tour moving forward. Given his recent major victory and the likelihood he will get lifetime exemptions into certain events he may not have to play much to get a spot in these fields. Hoping for the best to Tiger, the ultimate competitor and champion in golf that I’ve seen in my lifetime. Well, I was doing it week in and week out, but because I was stronger, because I had the endurance, I felt like I could handle it. And I rebounded faster. I derived a lot of my confidence in being able to handle different situations from my training. If it was a hot, sunny day wherever we were going to be, playing in, call it, Malaysia or somewhere in Texas or Florida, so be it. If you call for 36 holes, I got it. If you need me to shoot 65-65, I got that, too. And that’s because I just felt strong enough to do it.”

ON FEELING NERVOUS 
‘‘Golf is a microcosm of life. There are going to be ups and downs, there are going to be challenges, there are going to be ebbs and flows. Ultimately, when it comes right down to it, we determine our own fate, as tough as that might be to accept sometimes. It’s not being afraid of it. It’s OK to feel uncomfortable. I’ve been asked this question numerous times: Am I ever nervous? Are you kidding me? I’m nervous on the very first shot. I’m nervous throughout the entire day. But it’s how I channel it, how I harness it. How do I put that energy into deeper focus or deeper intensity? That’s something we can all do. It’s not being afraid of it or ashamed of it. Go after it.”

ON THE DISTANCE ADVANTAGE 
‘‘Hitting the ball as far as I did in the early part of my career was a huge advantage. All the par 5s were reachable with irons. I generally had wedges into a lot of the par 4s. Theoretically, I felt like I had a couple shots per round up on the field if I was able to drive it well. Compound that over a tournament, season, decade, there’s an advantage to being long. You look at all the guys now on top of the World Ranking; they all move it. The game has evolved. It’s not about the precision short player having dominant runs. It’s about the power players. I’m hitting the ball farther now than I ever have in my life, but it’s all relative. When I first came out on tour, John Daly was the first one to break the 300-yard barrier on average for the year. In ’97, I think I averaged like 296. That’s what I feel comfortable hitting my 3-wood right now. But now there are guys hitting the ball 340 and 350, so the game has just gotten exponentially longer.”

ON CRAZY RECOVERIES 
‘‘Some of the stupid shots I’ve hit, I ultimately decided it was worth the risk. Sometimes I’ve pulled off something that was pretty magical. But I’m always trying to give myself the best chance. What are the odds? I’m much better now at pitching out and trusting my wedge play than I ever used to be, and it’s just because I don’t have the speed like I used to to be able to hit some of the shots. I still see some of those gaps, if I’m in a bad spot, but I just can’t [laughs]. Tiger Woods says that he isn’t sure when he’s going to be able to play professionally again.

Tiger Woods spoke about his golf future on Tuesday in his first press conference since suffering serious leg injuries in a February single-vehicle rollover accident. Woods is hosting the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas this week.
The 15-time major champion said he doesn’t know when he would play again but is happy that he can participate.
He continued: “To see some of my shots fall out of the sky a lot shorter than they used to is a little eye opening. But at least I’m able to do it again. That’s something that for a while there didn’t look like I was going to. I’m able to participate in the sport of golf. Now to what level, I do not know that.”

On how much more difficult his current recovery has been compared to his others, Woods said, “This one has been much more difficult. It’s just hard to explain how difficult it’s been just to be immobile for the three months and lay there.
“I was just looking forward to just getting outside… that was a goal of mine, especially for a person who has lived his entire life outside.”
Woods has not played in a golf tournament since his accident.

As Americans celebrate the 225th anniversary of the United States, Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence will, once again, command center stage. It will be quoted and read in its entirety at small-town gatherings, picnics and dedication ceremonies across the nation. But one truth that is not so self-evident to the American people is that it was the words of another Thomas — Thomas Paine — that served to mobilize the masses for revolution and inspired Jefferson’s Declaration itself. Paine, the 39-year-old author of “Common Sense” — the 47-page pamphlet that served as a lightning rod for the cause of American independence — was more instrumental than Jefferson in mobilizing public support for the Revolution.

A self-educated Englishman known for his failures as a corset-maker, tax collector and husband, Paine immigrated to the American colonies in 1774. Settling in Philadelphia, he took a job as editor of the Pennsylvania Magazine, where he wrote inflammatory essays against slavery, the inferior political and social status of women and, of course, England’s rule.
While Jefferson sat through the proceedings of the Second Continental Congress, Paine was out circulating among the highest and lowest orders of society. He worked hard to determine the political temper of the colonies, reading newspapers and frequenting the taverns and coffeehouses of Philadelphia, buttonholing anyone with an opinion.

By the autumn of 1775, Paine’s writings had captured the attention of
Benjamin Franklin, who enlisted his support to test public opinion before making a definitive commitment to independence himself. Paine obliged Franklin by writing “Common Sense,” which appeared on January 10, 1776. Using exciting and irreverent imagery — “simple facts, plain arguments and common sense” — Paine launched a frontal attack on the British monarchy.

If the institution were truly useful, he asked his readers, “why would nature ridicule it by giving mankind an ass for a lion [the symbol of the British monarchy] on the throne?” Depicting King George III as a tyrant, as a co-conspirator with Parliament in an attempt to destroy the natural rights of the American colonists, Paine likened the monarch to a “father-king” who relished his children, the Americans, as his main meal. “Americans should not feel any obligation to a crowned ruffian who sanctions war against them,” he concluded.

Of course, Jefferson later made the same point in the Declaration, but with much greater respect for George III.  Charging the king with “repeated injuries and usurpations” against the colonies, Jefferson went on to list 27 specific grievances against him. Jefferson concluded that a “Prince whose character is marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.” The author of the Declaration was careful to distinguish between the king’s behavior and a personal attack.

Assuming the role of victim for the colonies, Jefferson also solemnly
declared: “That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be, Free and Independent States; that they are absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved.” Jefferson’s careful, calculated and felicitous language was designed to appeal to the political elite of the colonies as well as of Europe, who might be persuaded to aid the American cause.

Paine’s audience was less refined: They were the common people who eventually took up the musket and fought for American independence. Not only did he appeal to their reason, but to their emotions as well. Paine exhorted his readers to “cease negotiating for a repeal of Parliamentary acts and separate from England.” By declaring its independence, America would ensure a strong, lasting commerce, the happiness of its people and protection from a hopelessly corrupt Europe. Like a preacher urging his congregation to embark on a divinely-inspired mission, Paine reminded his readers of the American blood already shed at Lexington and Concord with the words: “O! Ye that love mankind!

The blood of the slain, the weeping voice of nature cries ‘Tis time to part!
” The brilliance of Paine’s work was that it expressed the ideas of revolution in language that the masses could understand. “Common Sense” aroused public opinion in America in an unprecedented way. It quickly became a bestseller, with 120,000 copies sold in the first year after publication. It found its way into bookstores, private libraries and taverns in both Europe and America. “Common Sense” also instigated hundreds of responses, pro and con, in the form of pamphlets, broadsides and newspaper editorials.
Everyone was talking about the pamphlet except Thomas Jefferson. The Virginia delegate certainly read but made no known public comment about Paine’s work, though it is clear to historians that “Common Sense” anticipated the Declaration in its attack on monarchy and its elevation of the colonists’ grievances from a dispute over English freedoms to a struggle of universal dimensions.

Paine’s actions mirrored his beliefs. In July 1776 he joined the Continental Army and worked to maintain its morale by writing a series of 13 essays, later published as “The American Crisis.” Jefferson, on the other hand, believing that his national service had been completed with the writing of the Declaration, returned home to his family in Virginia. He repeatedly refused to answer Washington’s call to serve in the army. Today, “Common Sense” may not be as highly regarded as the Declaration of Independence, but it is still a powerful expression of the American mind and a testament to the will of the common people — an audience to which Jefferson, for all his brilliance as a writer, simply could not relate.

What happens to electric cars if our electrical grid is compromised??

No, it doesn’t make sense especially in Florida with all the hurricanes and
stuff, sometimes the electric is out for like 2-3 weeks, lol, no generators??  
America is “awake” but Biden & his Twitter handlers are away on their Delaware beach weekend break while Americans are suffering!  Chinese & Russian hackers, at minimum, get a two’fer. U.S. transportation & energy but more likely economy and health will take a bolo punch. Forget compromise, if the government wants to control you they will just shut it down. You can only store as much power as 300 mile capacities in the battery, unlike gas you can put in cans. When your battery is dead there’s nothing you can do… So they do what California did and ban gas engines so you can’t charge your car if your power is out.

Well… remember Texas last winter? Do the math- exactly what they want to happen. There is a larger picture here- supply chain, food, fuel, -along other ‘critical’ supplies designed whole heartedly to cripple a population. Biden already is.. pushing for “green energy” when we don’t have the infrastructure NOW, to barely handle the handful of electric vehicles on the road.
This will hurt the poor the most. Do you realize how many never in their life could afford a new car? They buy only used forever, very used! Gas will be a fortune b/c of the low usage. Car parts eventually phased out.

Where are all the compacted cars going to go? Millions?

I live in California where they routinely shut off our power. They even ask people not to charge their cars when we’re short on power in the summer months and threaten rolling brownouts. Here, gas would be more reliable.   The electricity grid in California is unreliable and fails frequently yet our brilliant Governor has “ordered” all of the new cars in our enormous state
to be electric within the next fifteen years. Something’s gotta give.

The plan is to take away your ability to own your own transportation; Electric cars will be a state utility; charged elsewhere and you’ll request them with an app. Charges will appear on your electric bill and you’ll be at mercy of the State. Dictators loved trains for a reason.

Don’t Roll Your Eyes, Lyten’s Battery Breakthrough Could Be for Real
I don’t know if you saw that there’s an entire section in the infrastructure bill to develop large scale domestic battery manufacturing facilities along with grants for development of tech to deal with the massive issues of battery recycling and elimination.  That’s the problem. The US only has 4% of the total global share of raw lithium- meaning we would need to be at the mercy of China to do those things. Sure, the US can recycle it & make batteries with it, but the raw material still wouldn’t be coming from within. That’s an issue.

PV and wind, even if the devices that operate them are foreign made, once installed are a permanent domestic energy source. Once we develop sufficient renewables (yes, using fossil fuels, why it’s called a transition), we’ll develop new renewables with previous renewables. If the technology isn’t there already to use renewable as a renewable then making any sort of transition would be foolish by anyone at this time. This nation really first only used geothermal and hydroelectric power to facilitate the later transition to coal, natural gas and direct oil burning. We’ve been in a constant state of transition, slow as it seems.

As it stands now, 2% of all vehicles on US roads are electric.
It’s a fool’s mission to continue beyond that point without domestic production of renewable material. It can’t even be lithium batteries, because the US has less than 4% share of that. The US can’t be green & sovereign. Yet most of our bulk transformers today use Japanese laminate steel & are predominantly manufactured in South Korea, China, Mexico & Columbia & are shipped in. Even if we used 100% domestic coal & gas inputs, we are still dependent on globalization.

Yes, and there is an abundance of cheap, porous Asian steel in the US because of that policy – and now they need infrastructure bills to replace it all. The goal should be to get away from foreign dependence altogether- the PPE debacle should’ve been the wake-up call to that. Japanese steel has advanced in myriad ways, the core losses today compared to laminate steel from before are much lower. But this isn’t a new issue — we thought Japan in the 80’s was our downfall, with cheap, inferior tools flooding our markets. I recall using a Japanese open-ended wrench against a rather stubborn nut on my exhaust in the late 80s. It “yawned,” moved from a 9/16ths to a 5/8ths!

You know, I also find that Indian made goods are pretty solid today, but there just aren’t a lot of them. Yet I don’t really see this as policy — we just over time found that Korean transformers eventually matched our domestics & were less expensive. Like textiles.
Our ratepayers never knew the difference. There is no green policy that makes any sense for the US right now as long as the biggest polluters in the world like China & India remain unchecked. Especially if that plan requires the US to be dependent on China for resources.

We have to be realistic in our expectations.
Saving the planet is the narrative of the politician, not the actual concern. 
I believe the technology exists to have electric cars that would be able to run on self-produced power! Look how long voyager lasted! Sadly, greed is the only reason we don’t have any of them?

Another thing I wondered is why they never bothered with wind energy for cars. Anything going at a decent speed will be able to harness wind. Combine that with roof mounted solar panels (or even solar panel type paint over the entire vehicle) and it should be possible.

Confronted by a new, deadly disease to which humans had no natural immunity, most people concluded that preventing a catastrophic loss of life justified some temporary loss of freedom. The ranking penalized countries that withdrew civil liberties, failed to allow proper scrutiny of emergency powers or denied freedom of expression—regardless of whether there was public support for government measures. In France for example, severe lockdowns and national curfews led to a small but significant decrease in its overall score and the country dropped into the “flawed democracy” category.

The pandemic did not put a stop to rising levels of political engagement. Turnout in the American presidential election in November was the highest for 120 years and the country recorded its best political participation score since the index began. But public trust in the democratic process was dealt a blow by the refusal of Donald Trump and many of his supporters to accept the election result, and the United States remains in the “flawed democracy” category. The star performer, measured by the change in both its score and rank, was Taiwan, which was upgraded to a “full democracy” after rising 20 places in the global ranking from 31st to 11th.

My first thought was “no.”
After conducting some research, I became more dubious as I learned that “significant disruption” was actually NOT how public health officials previously advised managing pandemics. The skepticism intensified when I saw Sweden take a different approach, and read an article in The NY Times in March 2020 by David Katz arguing that shutting society down would cause more harm than covid. But no one around me agreed, and it quickly became evident that one was not allowed to have a different opinion on the subject – I was dismissed, ostracized, and attacked personally for expressing my views.
My relationship could not survive the strain (even though he agreed with me – it was the pressure from outside that did us in). I had been extremely close with his family, especially his little niece, and I lost all of those important relationships. Most of my friends & colleagues turned on me. Indeed, I received a call about a year ago in which a colleague informed me that my Twitter account had been discovered and people wanted my boss to fire me. I ended up finding another job, moving to DC, and basically starting from scratch.

The point of all of this is that the public health professionals and MDs who used their degrees & titles to inflict repressive, divisive policies on us, to suppress debate, who used the authority of their positions to abuse the trust of the public by denying that 6/ there could be other valid approaches, must all be held to account for the lives they destroyed. I’m relatively lucky, as I’m doing fine despite the magnitude of the losses I experienced. Many have permanently lost their lives, their sanity, and their livelihoods. So when this is all said and done, let’s make sure that all of the people who did this to us – from @EpiEllie
and David Gorski to Rochelle Walensky, Nancy Messionier and Anthony Fauci – pay both personally and professionally, & are never in a position to do this to us again. So basically, they messed with nature and that caused the virus to kill itself if I am understanding it correctly. I’m not an expert. Which usually happens over a longer period of time naturally. Viruses mutate in nature all the time. I’m not sure there’s a “they” here. He’s saying the virus did it to itself, but it doesn’t really matter. The Left is losing. With no more talk of herd immunity. Odd, now I’m hearing from this or that person about colds and flu, but no one is talking about getting tested for COVID. Sounds like virus fatigue to me.  Being healthy helps but it’s estimated that up to 50% of cases are asymptomatic and the virus is highly contagious.
It’s protecting the vulnerable. That would have been a good argument if the vaccines we have so far hadn’t turned out to be so leaky. Look at the surges happening in Israel, Gibraltar, some of the most highly vaccinated countries.


Public ‘health’ could acknowledge that healthier lifestyles are, well, healthier lifestyles; if every doctor was honest with their patients, it would be a different world; in fact, if everyone was honest with only their direct charges for starters it would immensely improve society. The vaccine is keeping severe outcomes low but not stopping transmission. I think it’s pretty obvious to most people that a healthier lifestyle reduces your risk for serious Covid infections. Obviously, we do. How is it we get told that “poor people just don’t know any better” but then also get told “doctors shouldn’t have to state the obvious”.

Do we need public health officials to state the obvious?  
Apparently, it is not obvious. Examine the data instead of your predetermined theory, because clearly your theory doesn’t work out in practice. Just because people are fat doesn’t mean they don’t know what healthy food is. That’s like saying an alcoholic shouldn’t have any alcohol if it’s bad for you. They told us to sit home, to drink and watch Netflix. So probably they need to tell people those things were actually terrible advice. You would think it’d be obvious but sadly most people don’t look like they have a clue how to keep their body healthy.

How is it obvious? Most think putting their life at risk and getting jabbed
with a faulty experiment is being proactive with their health. When in fact:
it’s the complete opposite and is reactionary due to their poor lifestyle past & present.  Yes, we do and no it’s not obvious to so many in the population, don’t assume people know what contributes to a healthy lifestyle!! Strange how they don’t… It’s not obvious to most…obviously. What’s obvious to you clearly isn’t obvious to nearly half of Americans. They seem to state everything else. 🙂

People are more stupid now than any time in history. They’ve lied about pretty much everything. So yeah, a little honestly might give them some credibility. They’re telling you to take two injections a year. Many of us won’t do it because they keep lying. About everything.   I get what you’re saying but Vit D is a big one they say isn’t really proven blah blah but I think it’s 70ish % of Americans are deficient. Vitamins D3 (normally acquired from sunlight) and K2 are essential compounds toward optimizing the human immune system. They’re cheap and widely available. It is weird that nobody is talking about that. Esp. a significant % of the pop. has shown to present vitamin D deficiency.

I had been on vitamin d3 and zinc when I got covid in January. Lasted a week and a half. No hospital. Had a great recovery. I still take my vitamins. I also ate berries, quercetin transports zinc to the cells. Most think it’s vitamin C…. So even IF it didn’t help with immune function which it does (& a bunch of other things), why not at least address widespread deficiency?  The vaccine and eating healthy/getting more vitamin D/exercise are not mutually exclusive.
No matter what else you do, the vaccine is by far the best way to avoid serious COVID and death especially if you’re over 50.

And the safety level of the vaccine is incredibly high.
Well, they recommend and mandate everything else, so would it hurt for them to talk a bit about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle? 

 I think it’s pretty obvious the vaccines are free and easily available and yet we are still bombarded with the propaganda?

I was in VT once and wound up in a small town grocery store. It was disorienting. Barely any produce. Wildly colorful packages of processed foods
I didn’t recognize. Brands I didn’t know. I actually took photos, it was bizarre.
I left & asked someone…  if there was another grocery store in the area, and they said nearest was a 45- to 50-minute drive away. Virtually everyone I saw in the town was morbidly obese. It was heartbreaking to think it was because they had little access to healthy food.Wilted flower
