With 40 districts with masks required policies and 27 without. The result was no statistical difference in school cases per enrolled students in person. Dr. Tannahill
Follow the data:
It’s about to become, for better or worse, a real world observational study for riding out a large Covid wave without implementing mandates —and also return to in person school with only mask mandates in some locations. That is why the (lockdown) crowd is so visceral at the moment.
If Florida rides out relatively ok and it looks like it will without government control puts control in other jurisdictions in grave peril. The chart is saying the real world data is already in, and there’s no statistical difference.
The wave already hit Israel, India, and Britain. Or you could just look at Sweden, Germany or Ireland. How’s that going? Everybody died like they predicted? Check out their results. I can’t predict the future but if FL follows current trajectory and recent trends
elsewhere, cases will regardless of lack of mandates (and locales with mandates will provide interesting contrast).
We will see. How do you explain that a state with 20% of its population over 65 and which kept its schools and businesses open is 25th in mortality? How do you explain this? There are approximately 1.4 million people in Hills county. There are approximately 206,841 students who attend school in hills county. So let’s do some basic math, that means from 1500 cases that is 0.72%. So masks might help limit the spread of COVID, and they might not. What is the smart thing to do? How would Pascal wager? Oh, please. My grandchildren (11, 13, 13, 16) are so traumatized by wearing masks that they sometimes forget to take them off in the car when I pick them up from school.
Forgets to even consider the downside of forcing kids to wear masks for 8 hours straight. Only a dullard could possibly think a sample size of 4 is at all relevant. Not to mention the possibility those kids have been conditioned to wear masks from your paranoid family. And why ignore the chart above?
No difference btwn masked/unmasked. Do you have data for cold weather states.
My understanding is that masking did help in Utah last year.
I’ve been asking people for a year now why masks weren’t pushed at the beginning. Answer: cause we didn’t have a large enough supply. May keep essential workers from getting masks. Then why didn’t they push homemade masks if they are so important? Smh
One key fact we want to key low is any hospitalizations, as this affects not just people with Covid-19 but anyone needing a bed for other reasons. Except you can never set foot in a school building and be considered a “district case” so this graph is irrelevant to whether masks are working in schools. This is complete bullshit until you provide a link to where, when and how this data was obtained. It’s always interesting that conservatives post either 1) completely debunked data or 2) never provide a link to the background of where the data is obtained from. But we’re following the
Great Reset narrative. Science has no place here anymore
I’m wondering…If masks are so great, why on earth are people who test positive for Covid and their close contacts being asked to isolate. It would seem they could walk around anywhere they want wearing a mask, right?
