Going Green: really bad idea

Prices for electricity in Europe are already sky-high because of climate change policies.

The year is 2031. Your electric car locked you out because you reached your driving limit. You walk to the store to buy food.
The steak you want to buy gets denied because you reached your C02 limit. You walk home with a bag of bugs and fake soy meat.

Biden’s approval rating has dropped to 38%, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday. That’s down from 42% three weeks ago and from a high of 50% in mid-February. “Battered on trust, doubted on leadership, and challenged on overall competency, President Biden is being hammered on all sides as his approval rating continues its downward slide to a number not seen since the tough scrutiny of the Trump administration,” Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy said in a prepared statement.

President Joe Biden’s approval rating hits new low in latest Quinnipiac poll
Imagine if all cars were electric, there would be even more electricity shortage and prices would be even higher.
This is a complete fallacy argument. If all cars were electric, the infrastructure for electric would expand with it And electric production costs are going down. (Pandemic pressures aside) Oil/Gas up! AND they’re already at scale. Personal savings on mechanical maintenance are ignored too. Their battery manufacture and battery end of life of EV’s causes major concerns? For disposal or recycling. As more EV’s use the roads, Government toll networks will be introduced so Governments don’t want to miss out on taxes. Or they put a surcharge on electricity allocated to road maintenance! Either way everybody pays unfairly!

And how will they recycle all those batteries, windmills and solar panels?

They can’t, but they don’t tell this to the people…it’s one big scam. Makes sense for countries such as Norway (93.4 percent hydropower in 2019) Why aren’t we talking about how salt water holds a charge?
And, the massive mining industry extracting Copper, Lithium, Cobalt, Aluminum etc. Green Energy is not entirely ‘Green’, everything has a cost attached!
Since the discovery of Copper by early Humans to this day, 30 Billion Tonnes Copper has been extracted. By 2050, it’s going to double!

Remember the big blimp turbine things?

Why can’t we try something like that?

What we are seeing now is the result of energy transition goals out of sync with reality. What happens when the wind doesn’t blow or the sun doesn’t shine?

We are finding out now. Likely this only gets worse.
Aging power grids in Europe and the America’s can simply not handle the radical transition. The hard truth is all these grids need to be completely rebuilt from the ground up. But, no one wants to pay for that. Instead, we are adding new power sources on top of old infrastructure. This is like putting new code on top of old code and expecting your website to function properly. Given we are already going full MMT why not print a few trillion more and start rebuilding the grid. At least we would have something useful to show for all that printing. Person shrugging

Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) Definition & Example (investopedia.com)

MMT is based on an account of the “operational realities” of interactions between the government and its central bank, and the commercial banking sector, with proponents like Scott Fullwiler arguing that understanding reserve accounting is critical to understanding monetary policy options. The central idea of MMT is that governments with a fiat currency system under their control can and should print (or create with a few keystrokes in today’s digital age) as much money as they need to spend because they cannot go broke or be insolvent unless a political decision to do so is taken.

I think there’s plenty of people who are willing to pay. I for one would much rather see deficit spending on upgrading infrastructure than consumption like we have for the past 18mo. Even if that infrastructure is over cost and not very efficient! #China‘s power crunch worsens. Factories and households in the three provinces in Northeast China were hit by unannounced power cuts.

China’s power crunch worsens, factories and households in northeast regions hit by unannounced power cut – YUAN TALKS

The gov in the Netherlands wants the users to pay for the gigantic upgrade of the grid which will cost into the billions. (Power suppliers already said they can’t afford to pay for it). As a reward we will then also get higher electricity prices as an extra bonus. Problem is the stupid Greta generation wants solar power, wind power but not in their own neighborhood. One thinks it should be easy to understand no wind no sun = no power.

Tell it to Greta Hugging face Quite The same for Photovoltaic and wind turbines, as produced energy can not be stored.

I love nuclear.. the problem is the West has chosen to shy away from this.

The biggest projects are happening in Asia and Africa.

And where will you discharge the waste?
Hiding it in the ground or dumping it somewhere??

The Enbridge explosion back in Oct 2019 was the cannery in the coal mine.
You are spot on! The age of the gas pipelines in the US is surpassing its 40yr lifespan.
It really sucks because people think pipelines are unsafe instead of understanding they are reaching the end of projected life. NIMBY and ratepayers refusing to pay for upgrades are killing new projects too. @LynAldenContact  has mentioned before that in some research she did, historically, energy sources don’t go away; new ones are simply added in addition to the old ones. It’ll likely be a VERY long time before oil demand truly decreases in any permanent way.

China will NOT join the West in destroying its economy to BUILD BACK BETTER.

In fact, Su Wei, the National Development & Reform Commission, said that
“Because renewable energy (sources such as) wind & solar power are intermittent & unstable, we must rely on a stable power source.

China installing 100 GW of electrolyzers in 2030 would multiply global deployment of renewable #hydrogen by about x1,000

Worldwide electrolyzer capacity would double 10 times by 2030 and technology costs fall 80% if manufacturers could maintain a 15% learning rate

We need to fix this fast. As the sun has a 50/50 possibility of a grand solar minimum in the next 10 years. It is not radiant heat, it’s particle forcing.

Should The Climate Movement Embrace Sabotage
What they won’t tell you when buying an electric car is that manufacturing the batteries is actually horrible for the environment. Climate change fanaticism is the biggest grift of all time.  AND Actually, the manufacturing of batteries is 100% oil-dependent.

Let that sink in for a sec.
But they are having fun. Blissful in their ignorance.  Pretty much anything modern humans do is bad for the environment. What they won’t tell you is we had electric cars over 100 years ago, that had a similar range to the cars now …. And they 100% didn’t have pollution making lithium batteries.

Go search for lithium and or cobalt mine pics.

image.png
Checkmate. All mining processes are “bad for the environment”.

But if it is managed properly the environment will be easily restored. Over time an increasing quantity of EV materials will come entirely from recycling. In time the environmental impact will become minimal.
Climate change is not anything worth getting our underwear in knots over.
We have now entered a period of cooling (driven by solar cycles).
Watch the greenies struggle to object to emissions as ice builds up… We are in a carbon deficit. We need to restore the trapped carbon.
If we burn all fossil fuel and thus restore the carbon to the natural cycle this will happen:
More CO2 Rapid plant growth More oxygen Higher barometric pressure More conducive to life More animals More water uptake More habitable land.

The carbon debacle is bullshit.
image.png
There will be an S curve for plant growth.
O2 will absolutely lag until the plants get going. The transition will be gradual, then rapidly speed up, then plateau. The system will self regulate to a climate more conducive to life. All that carbon WAS in cycle before.

We don’t know that atom O2 is decreasing as atom CO2 is rising. Burning fossil fuels sucks a lot of oxygen out of the air to burn C to CO2 and H to H2O. And most of that O2 isn’t returned, remains bound within rising CO2 levels and within emitted H2O CO2 up=O2 down

A neighbor has one but he said a trip now of 300 miles takes 2 days instead of 1

Because he only has a 150 mile range before the car needs a full recharge. That seems bloody stupid to me but there you go. Maybe he should have bought a proper electric car like a Tesla. I can drive 500km+ without the need to charge with my tesla Model 3. Yes but when a car battery is coming to the end of life of a car it can be reused in other things like boats, bikes and other things

When they are coming to an end they can be recycled by a firm in Canada to make new batteries.

Why not Wait for hydrogen powered electromotive.
Second to all this, sodium batteries are coming!

Doesn’t have to be bad for the environment. Some information about this topic is enclosed. Recommend to get information from various sources with different points of views to get a realistic picture.  2020 Annual Shareholder Meeting and Battery Day – Elon Musk Interviews (elon-musk-interviews.com)

@PeterSweden7 it’s also bad for health as well.

Electric cars have very high electric and magnetic fields also that the public are not being made aware of.

It’s true mining metals and lithium comes at a human cost. Something needs to be done. But electric drivetrains are the basis for driverless cars and something other than environmentalism. Yes it is the beginning of a technocratic total control society right now. Appliances could be used for Great things but check at other areas how technology is also being used for control and you might be able to see a pattern that has anything but your freedom in mind for you. Well, that is true. There is no “free lunch” for humankind. We are fighting against Rio Tinto lithium thirst right now.
Terrible. Face screaming in fear Horrible for the environment indeed…

A picture of a lithium mine… image.png

A battery produces about 4 tons more greenhouse gases than an internal combustion engine. An internal combustion engine emits about 4.6 metric tons of CO2 a year. Over the life of a car, EVs are much better EVEN considering manufacturing the batteries. Mobility of the Future | MIT Energy Initiative

They laughed at Clive Sinclair when created the C5.

They also don’t tell you that only about 11% of the electric grid is “green”. They also don’t tell you that if the battery catches fire just when you think the fire is out it will reignite, not a rare occurrence either to the point that fire brigades in America have big tanks of water that they immerse the whole car in and leave it there for several days. Why aren’t we pushing hydrogen fuel cars? The infrastructure we have now with filling stations could be adapted to fuel cars with hydrogen in the same way we fill with petrol or diesel now. Far more practical…It’s still far greener than mining, producing and disposing of lithium batteries.
You forgot that the batteries cost more than the price of the car! Exploding head
Because the water coming out of it is very polluted. And as water, good drinking water is getting scarce…

It’s like with Nucleair.. what to do with the residues?..

With the windmills, still no solutions for the wings after 15 years.
So they are not “green” either… Down pointing backhand index

They also won’t tell you that LiPo batteries can ignite spontaneously and burn like thermite.

Plants and animal life depend upon CO2.
It’s a life giver. The world is greener now than 3 decades ago.
Additionally the Chinese and Indians have planted billions of trees even in deserts.
There have always been Doomsday Cults. Only this time they run the Government and media.
The manufacturer is so un-green and what then can you do with the dead batteries?
