I have had mammograms in the past but decided after research I personally no longer believe in them. I decided to have a thermogram and on a scale of 1-5 one breast was a two and one a four. I have high estrogen and am taking estrogen pullers and a follow up mammogram showed a 2 and 3. They also suggested that I have a mammogram or breast MRI just to make sure everything is ok. I opted to look into a breast MRI.
The doctor I went …to will not do a breast MRI w/o the contrast, Gadolinium. They said, no point we won’t be able to see anything. Then, the doctor suggested I get the BRCA gene test but will not order the test without the 2-3 hr genetic counseling session for $600 to see what other tests I can have as well. So I begin to get pissed. I feel like I have no control. So, I think I will probably just go back to my ND and work on losing weight, I need to lose 30lbs., and make sure I work out and stay positive and as stress free as I can. Thoughts? Thank you all!!!
What about sonograms? Before I knew better my Dr. ordered a mammogram after I found a lump in my breast (noticing the regular mammos all those years did not find it) Anyway, immediately after the mammogram they did a sonogram because it gives them more info…. so that tells me the mammogram was useless and radiated my breast frown emoticon. I recommend the book: What Your Doctor May NOT Tell You About Breast Cancer by John R. Lee, M.D. It’s has great info we should know whether we have breast cancer or not!
I only do thermography or ultrasound. No invasive ,no radiation. There is a blood test amas that is 95% accurate if you have cancer. The information on honeyhelpme.com if you are interested. It was a follow up thermogram. The scale is from 1 to 5 showing the heat in your breast. You will have to Google thermograms to have more information- lol, I know what I see in my reports but I don’t have the knowledge to properly explain it to you right at this moment.
If you cut out sugar the weight will drop right off of you! I cut out 95% of my sugar intake and lost 30 pounds. What does a follow up mammogram showing a 2 and a 3 mean? I was told to take the BRCA test and I said no. It’s also a good idea if your family is Ashkenazi to be tested its just a blood test I’m negative to both BRAC 1 and 2
I had the BRCA test done. It was an interview with the geneticist and a blood test. She explained that the percentage of people who can link their cancer to genetics is extremely small and they don’t know what other parts of our geneology contribute to cancer. I also believe it’s mostly lifestyle and the toxic convenience that’s become the norm in our food, products, habits, etc. It was definitely easier when I didn’t know all I know. Ignorance is truly bliss…
…. that is fine. You might also want to use a progesterone serum called Progessence Plus. It’s an all natural bio-identical progesterone from wild yams, and it will help with that estrogen dominance significantly.
I also read that fibrocystic breast disease and iodine deficiency are linked. Raw soy is antagonist to iodine, as is raw cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, and some other things. This site has really good information about iodine and breast health. It’s also a must.
Millions of American have been told they have sluggish thyroids but rarely are they told how to fix it. To find the answer, Loma Linda University Researchers monitored 65,000 people for four years. Turns out that a diet built around oatmeal swirled with fruit and nuts, bean burritos slathered in guacamole, pasta marinara with whole grain bread also beats the Mediterranean style diet for reversing thyroid function.
Dr. Neal Barnard Ph.D. head of the Physician Committee for Res…ponsible Medicine insists that no matter what shape your thyroid is in now, plant based eating can rev it up and slim you down. Since the thyroid plays a big role in setting your metabolism. An inflamed thyroid doesn’t function to its fullest and dairy and eggs are common triggers that provoke an immune response.
When you eat a trigger food, it causes the formation of anti bodies that can attack the thyroid. Also blood sugar spiking sweeteners and processed foods, allergens, stress, poor sleep, certain meds and even pollution can set your thyroid off. An interesting aside: you may have heard such veggies as soybean, broccoli, kale and cabbage are bad for thyroids. For good health, Americans need to eat more omega–3 and fewer omega-6 … the ratio of omega-6 to plant based omega–3 fatty acids is important to reducing cancer risk.
That’s highly unlikely says the Loma Linda team and they add. Plant based protein might be what the doctor orders because unlike animal based protein which has been linked to increased inflammation. Plant protein comes paired with anti inflammatory compounds like fiber (which whisks irritants out of your body.) Also antioxidants (which block damage on a cellular level). Therefore, if you’re looking to minimize inflammation and optimize your thyroid, says Dr. Barnard, ” a vegan diet is the obvious choice.”
Research shows there’s a 16% increase in metabolism after meals when you eat plant based foods. Most women put on thyroid meds stay on them for life. Not so for vegans …some get off them in least than a year while having their thyroid numbers normalize. Meanwhile, Elena Wilkins knew a plant based diet improved her husbands inflammation driven heart condition and hoped it would do the same for her thyroid. IT DID!!!
